M.I.T.R.I.S.
Previously known as Section Specialization
Since OT is very much the most non-reported section there is and mods feel like there is nothing to do at times I was was thinking together with Alaya, why not take an initiative and Follow certain sections and check the threads being posted there?
I want to clarify that this is a work task IN ADDITION to doing the reports. If you are Follow say, CMA and GG, then you should not ignore reports from the other sections. Do the reports you can first if there are any then check with the posted threads and posts. This way we read all threads posted, make sure they are in the right spot and catch a lot of rule-breaking since people don't bother reporting anything.
But how is one to know which threads are old and which are new?
The Follow feature is the answer to that. You can set it up per section and instantly get a notification when a new thread is posted. Then you just have to check the thread and then delete the notification.
Okay, but if we have multiple mods following multiple sections?
Even better. Though the thread is just posted, just because one mod got to the thread first doesn't mean your notification is useless. People post in those threads and as such you can check the posts that have been made since the posting of the thread and catch rule breakers.
Okay so how do I follow a section?
1. First you need to go to the section you want to Follow.
2. Click on the Follow button. The default settings are okay but you can tweak it some to your liking. The Receive Notification box MUST be checked however.
3. Wait for the notifications to pop up then open the triangle ! in a new tab. (As clicking it will wipe the notifications and mark them as read.)
4. And VIOLA! Threads. Happy moderating.
There is a little flaw that you have to Follow Sub-Sections too. So following CMA doesn't pop threads posted in UCR for an example.
Also: Threads moved into a Followed section does not spawn a notification.
Mods Following what section.
Here we list what mods are where to avoid over-saturation. Also: please keep it to one or two sections (Sub-Sections not withstanding.) but you can follow them all if you're feeling zealous.- A maximum of 2-4 mods per section if you please.
- Claiming section/sub-sections is completely optional. Say claiming SCT then you don't have to claim HDS and SDS.
- If you Follow already you have to reclaim. CBA checking all the follow lists for people.

Is it Gabe or Gabriel?
Also, when can we expect Portal 3?

I am 17.
I am in college for Computer Information Systems.
I am lazy as hell.
I am an OT mod.
I will likely never think of anything else.
I think people like you because you are incredibly nice, you don't seem to be immature, and your humor, though (from what I've noticed) subtle, is often in good taste. Just a couple of my pennies.

I agree with this statement entirely. I find it disappointing that the issue of whether or not someone can differentiate between reality and game exists, but once that separation has been created, I feel that age no longer matters.
OP, I suggest convincing your parents that you can indeed differentiate between reality and game. How you might do that, I don't know. But that may be why your mom might not want you playing the game. To be fair, those age restrictions are there for a reason.
As for my thoughts about 13 year old children playing Call of Duty, so long as they aren't telling me what they did to my mother last night, I'm okay with it.
