    posted a message on [16x][1.8] Krazy's Contemporary Construction [1.8a]

Hello, and welcome to the topic for the Contemporary Construction pack! In this texture pack I attempt to create a set of textures that are a more subtle replacement of the original textures, while providing new and good looking textures for building a large variety of structures. The pack aims to satisfy a more contemporary look for the game. You can find a couple screenshots below. This was previously called the Citrus texture pack. It is the same one, just updated and renamed. The version numbers for this pack follow Minecraft's version system. If reading "Version 1.5_01", then it is compatible with all "1.5" versions of Minecraft and is the "01" release of the texture pack within Minecraft's 1.5 release.

To install the language files: **NOT in the current version**
    1. Open up minecraft.jar with WinRar (Or other similar software.)
    2. Delete the "Meta-INF" folder.
    3. Open the "lang" folder.
    4. Drag and drop the downloaded language file into that folder.
    5. Close and play the game!

Updated 9-14-11: Updated for 1.8. Glowstone has been retextured yet again. There are no new textures for 1.8. They will come in a future update.

Updated 7-8-11: Updated for 1.7. Added new cloud texture. Changed download links to my own web server as opposed to Mediafire.

Updated 5-26-11: Fixed missing Trap Door textures.

Updated 5-26-11: Updated for version 1.6.4!

Updated 5-1-11: Fixed the Light Gray Cloth texture. Light Gray sheep now drop light gray cloth, not blue rocks. Added optional normally colored cloth as a separate download. Added language files: One for the re-textured cloth and one that removes all "hover tags". Added new screenshots.

Updated 4-27-11: Added new textures for rain and snow. Added another screenshot.

Updated 4-25-11: Updated for Version 1.5! Topic cleaned up a little as well. More screenshots to come whenever I get to build something. If you'd like to help with that, just post your screenshots of the texture pack in use in this topic and if I like it, I'll add it!

Updated 2-1-11: Temporary update. Makes the pack usable with the most current update. It is not complete.

Updated 11-27-10: Changed brick texture. Added pack.png. Textured snow/snow dirt and ice. Bookshelves have matching colored wood. Fixed Pumpkins.

Updated 11-08-10: Modified biome grass/tree colors, adjusted a couple icons, changed color of the tree texture, changed pumpkin blur, textured pumpkins, and retextured Luminite.

Updated 10-31-10: Created icons for all buckets, reeds, the compass, fishing rod, and yellow dust (from Luminite/Brightstone (ew)/Australium. The TNT block has been modified to have a yellow powder to match the item. Luminite and Red Mossy Cobblestone has been textured. Textures changed to work with the new biome coloring.

Updated 10-24-10: Updated the topic with new images and cleaned it up a bit. Minor changes to the textures. Unframed paintings have been removed (temporarily?) due to issues with Mediafire. I'll attempt to bring them back for the next update. Mediafire started working again. Both downloads are available.

Updated 10-06-10: Icons for tools have been adjusted to create a greater contrast between materials. Block textures for Coal Ore, Iron Ore, Gold Ore, Diamond Ore, Obsidian, Iron Blocks, Gold Blocks, and Diamond Blocks have all been reworked. GUI has gone through an overhaul.

Updated 10-05-10: Icons for all: swords, shovels, pickaxes, axes, and hoes. Flint, Flint and Steel, Bows, Arrows, Hide, and Books now have new icons as well. Enjoy!

Updated 10-04-10: Gave paintings a stylish black frame. If you liked it the other way, I have both options for download. Made icons for Iron ingots, Gold ingots, Bricks, Diamonds, Redstone, Sticks, Feathers, Flint, Flint and Steel, Seeds, Wheat, Slime Balls, TNT (Gunpowder), Bread, Clay, Bowls, Mushroom Stew, Doors, and Eggs. Torches, Levers, and Redstone torches all have a stylish new look. Apples are now limes and golden limes (or lemons)! See the screenshots below for the new icons!

Updated 10-03-10: Added new textures for all of the paintings, which are also now wrapped canvas. Signs have also been retextured and new icons for both have been made. Wood is also slightly lighter and a richer brown, which I think makes wooden structures look nicer. In the somewhat near future I'll have a website for this as well as a more finished sounding name. Right now it's the "Citrus Texture Pack".

Updated 10-01-10: Added custom GUI and fixed the images in this post. Also re-did the glass to be clear in the middle. No more lines obstructing your ability to see out.

    Enjoy. :smile.gif:

posted a message on Tips for "prettier" farms etc.
Try randomly carving shapes out of the walls to give it a more fluid feel. I would also recommend terracing your farms to form indoor hills that match the shapes of the carved out walls. Add some streams to water the crops and give a little flow to the room. Also, vary the degree of drops. Make some steeper inclines in places.

Which brings me back to the suggestion:

When a world is loaded you get two options:
    1) Force chosen skill
    2) Allow free play

Then you get a skill selection screen:
    1)Peaceful
    2) Easy
    3) Normal
    4) Hard

    If you chose:
Force chosen skill- The skill you chose can't be changed
Allow free play- Skill can be changed as needed.

I think this is a fair compromise, but it should also include an option to set a certain to allow a time between difficulty changes (1/hour, for example).

If I understood correctly, this setup should give you a general idea as to how to make this work:
(Sorry for the huge images. It didn't look right when I resized it for some reason. Also, if you're wondering, this is a texture pack I've been working on for a couple of days. I plan to release it in the near future.)

posted a message on Am I just insanely lucky?
I have about 12 records on one save from creepers. I just get them to follow me to areas full of skeletons.

posted a message on Your most lucky moments in mining?
While I was exploring some new sections of a large cave system, I spotted a few creepers in the next room. I figured it was a good chance to get some gunpowder, so I ran in with my sword. After the first creeper was killed, my sword broke. One creeper got a little too close and I punched it away, only to have it explode half a second after. This killed the last creeper and uncovered a vein of 4 gold and 6 diamonds. I was happy.

posted a message on Leaving caves natural vs. Clearing them (and cave adventures
I leave mine mostly natural. I occasionally block off/redirect lava or water to get to other places that might have something of value. I'll also make "steps" out of blocks to make escape from enemies easier, but apart from that, I leave caves be.

I find 2 buckets of water are better than one. You can build an infinite spring and keep refilling it without having to leave an area.

I use smooth stone, with accents in cobblestone.
