I doubt it's the biggest, but I know that one of us got 5k TNT and placed them all. In addition to everyone else placing 1k. We needed a restart because people were spawning things before we locked it down to just admins, so we gave the world a nice send off... Unfortunately, a lot of it was placed in the mines below, so it's not visible in the video.
Nice....
Basically though I was doing a video series on youtube of "Always travel west".... And haven't updated in a week or so due to midterms and such. I plan on putting it on hold until the update because Biomes and Hell will make it more interesting.
However.... as a final runoff, I've been playing it myself off the camera for awhile now, and used an InvEdit infinite TNT block to mark my path westward in a line of TNT...
For a good long distance... And filling up some random caves / my old houses along the way with TNT as I passed by them / left them.
So, I want to think how far I'm going to go, post a cartograph of the before, make a video of dying and going to the start of the TNT trail.... blowing the whole thing sky high, and seeing the damage report on Carto.
Probably (if I can find a decent video editing program too) I'll do one final runthrough of the path of TNT at ~300% speed.
Sound like a good / interesting / decent plan? It's kind of a pain to do though since, while I would originally just take a boat across water in my games, I have to instead make a landbridge from island to island and make a little box around the TNT so when they blow up down the line they dont go flying out into the water and break the chain reaction.
For a few weeks now I've been waiting for my new laptop to arrive in the mail.
It just came like 2 hours ago... So.... While I'm transferring all the main stuff I need off the old laptop onto an External HD to put onto here, I downloaded some Minecraft to pass the time.
I open it up, and what do I get? This screen.
That's... amazing. This is a 1080p laptop and this is the first time I've seen this screen. The timing and coincidence is too perfect.
I'd join, I even have a bunch of great ideas, but like.... can't.
I can't watch the stream that often to find out a secret word. First problem is college and work, second would be I'm in the middle of Illinois in an apartment company that has REALLY terrible internet. Like, there are periods of DAYS I'll be without net sometimes, and even when it is up it's slow, too slow to watch streams (which sucks because I like vinesauce's minecraft stream too, and I'd probably like yours if I could watch it).
Oh well =P Sorry that you're limiting rules to those who can always check in to find the password. So much for creeper pumpkins and such.
Also, I'm running on a 3 year old HP Pavillion dv6000 with a ****ton of problems, I'm sure you could make an LP recording yourself =P
You were mentioning some issues with encoding and uploading a while ago. While I don't normally suggest the use of Microsoft tools, I have found that Windows Movie Maker makes it fairly easy to put together the video from pre-recorded material, which can then be loaded up in the Windows Live Movie Maker which makes it a lot easier to upload to youtube.
Your mileage may vary with this, but that's what works for me so far.
The problem with that is WMM wont ****ing encode it into Avi for some reason. I tried.
Just an idea I had... With Kraven's videos, most of the time is spent gathering resources followed by a little traveling to another structure where the process is repeated. And by contrast, Paul's WWE series is traveling all day e'eryday. I enjoy watching both, but thinking about the long term I'm wondering how interesting they'll be say, 30 videos down the road.
Instead of only traveling or traveling for a little during the day, why not mix things up a bit? Say you have 1-3 (depends on preference) in game days where your goal is to gather resources, food, set up a temporary shelter, do some crafting, maybe a quick farm, etc. Following that, the next full day is spent traveling like in Paul's videos, fighting monsters and whatnot while heading in whatever direction you chose. Biomes could make this especially interesting.
I'm not trying to take away from either series as I love both of them, but I'm starting to see other LPers move toward the nomadic style and just wanted to pitch this idea in case anyone would be interested in using it (I don't have the equipment to do it myself, unless people want to stare at fog all video :tongue.gif:).
I know, I'm trying to think about doing something like that because it IS getting a bit dry. The whole thing is, Biomes and Hell will make this very interesting... but they're not out yet. And I don't want to tell people to **** off til Oct 31st.
Like, I may just start bumming around doing other videos to fill the time, but ultimately I'm waiting for Biomes and Hell to make it pick up interest.

Day 2, Part 1 out the door after a weekend break. Part 2 is being uploaded / processed. (Unable to check progress, it's doing it on my laptop at home while I'm in class)
This one's called "Corrupt a Wish". In short, you do 2 things per post.
(Optional) Quote the previous post
1) Corrupt their wish. IE: "Granted, but _____"
2) Make your own wish. IE: "I wish for ____"
As an example.
Poster 1: "I wish for iron to be more common"
Poster 2: "Wish granted, but Iron now takes 7 times as long to mine per block" then he'd post his own wish and it'd continue from there.
It's not supposed to be serious, just some fun. Enjoy it!
I'll go first:
I wish gravity affected all things in Minecraft, not only a few things.
Don't go out alone at night.
Be wary of accepting hugs from strangers.
If you hit something hard enough and for long enough, it'll break!
Building a house is easy! Get out there and do it yourself, don't pay hundreds of thousands of dollars on housing!
Spiders - At times they might hurt you more than you can hurt them.
Don't play with fire. Ever.
Gravity - It works on somethings, it doesn't work on others. If something is mysteriously floating around you, don't question it. (Planes - How do they work?)
CONTINUE ON MY FRIENDS.
EDIT: Clarification
It's a list of practices / things in Minecraft that translate well to real life lessons.
I'll probably pick a few now and then and reenact them into a youtube video. IE "Aww, that guy just wants a hug! Let's go hug hi-*Boom*"
OT: Loving the videos. Anyone told you yet that you have a hella sexy voice?
I DO NOT HAVE A SEXY VOICE
*explode*
Hehe, you do have a nice voice. Something I don't mind listening to. :3
And watched the surprised conclusion of the first run last night. I laughed so far. Was sorta anticipating you exploring the cave till you dug at the sand above you. It was funny listening to cursing yourself for a mistake, but I now wanna hear you get surprised from a skeleton or spider.
SOOOO! Next time you see a deep cave system, explore it with the stuff you have. And you might get lucky and find some diamond (or crap yourself). Either way it would be fun to watch. ^-^
Well, uploading my 2nd days adventures (by minecraft time) for the 2nd run now. Have 2 parts in the queue.

Down with sexism!
Or ya'know, it's not supposed to be a sex toy ingame. How about a male companion though?
(Actually I'm just afraid of the square boobs)

How big was it? Does someone have a link to videos / pictures of before/aftermath?
Do we know how many blocks of TNT were used?
For those who might know me and my videos... I'm going to make up for a lack of posting anything lately with....
A bit of a boom, in my own style.

Notch....

Never saw that post, honestly. Came up with the idea and posted to the forums, first posts.

I'm working on spending more time doing that.

No video today folks, feeling a bit sick / snuffly so I'm just resting. I'm sure you don't want to hear a snot-filled commentary, eh?
