I'm currently using Gimp, and have an image that I'd like to use as my background. However, the image is too large. So, I tried going to image > scale image, and then setting the resolution to my screen size. That did not work.

How would I allow a larger resolution image to be used as a background for a smaller resolution one?

It's currently 2048 x 1536, however my screen is 1366 by 768

Very nice all.

I've been not doing much, most of it has been either under-the-hood, or simply not graphical / serverside, so I can't say much. Really, it's hard to expect something really epic out of someone who makes tools... (TeamStats, MineVideo, etc).

Make sure it's not being detected by an antivirus for a false positive. Also, check to make sure your firewall isn't blocking it. Check to see if it's using a lot of RAM or not. Check to see how long your inactive process kill is.

Just saying:

When Minecraft updates, whole classes are changed. In order to do what you'd suggest, you'd need to have the changed files and then patch them in. It'd be too impractical.

Not a bad idea, but it's just too much work.

Also, to update mods, all you do is get the source for the mod, then install newest forge / ml. Then, you put in the new source and solve the errors. Not that bad.
