Yes, when things have lots of facets, especially when new facets are added to something you've already learned, things can get a bit complicated.
We can take programs and fields of knowledge for example.
When it comes to a popular program, or website, getting a design change, many people get upset because they can no longer navigate the particular thing the same way as before. It makes it harder because they have to relearn everything. Eventually, with enough time put in, you relearn everything and even learn all the new features that make things much easier.
Now, take into account our fields of human knowledge. We have things like Earth Sciences, and Math. Most of us who have received an education know only the basics of most sciences, including maths. When we were learning these things it seemed rather difficult and possibly just too much to handle at times. However, when we look back we can see how those basics were actually very simple, and well, basic. All this especially compared to how much study and work it takes to fully grasp those subjects.
All I'm trying to say is, try not to feel overwhelmed by all the new things that have been added to our beloved Minecraft. When you step back and look at it you can see that it is really actually simple. If you are still having problems grasping it, well, that's what this forum, and of course our trusted wiki, is for! :]

Well first of all I didn't think of this minecraft pro did and you spawn underground with some trees
Sounds more like a map if it changes your spawn point to a specific area. Seems like for a mod trees would actually have to spawn underground.
Also, what if you download the mod but have multiple maps you're working on. How are you supposed to stop your epic, Fallout-esq. journey and go to building your mansion on your alternate world without uninstalling your mod?
I suppose there are other intrusive mods that make the game entirely different as well, but I've never stumbled upon one that would change my entire gaming experience like this. Work with your friend to develop it a bit better so no problem can arise. Try to make the mod more flexible.
Nov 9, 2011Having the outside world as poisoned is a pretty interesting addition, especially in a mod. However, we spawn outside, not in caves, when we first enter the world. Also, your rules don't seem very well thought out. You need to put a lot more thought into it than this, but I think the base of your idea has a bit of potential. Just keep workin' at it, yeah?Posted in: Mods Discussion
Nov 7, 2011Well, one time I was actually paying attention while mining and saw that I had just mined 42 coal in one vein. That's the most I've actually noticed, but I'm sure I've found more and was just on auto-pilot. :tongue.gif:Posted in: Discussion
Oct 28, 2011I agree that it is something wrong with your texture pack. See if anyone else has the same problems on whatever thread you got it from?Posted in: Legacy Support
(edit: Oh, I see you figured it out! Good. Have fun with Minecraft, friend. :])

Also, your response to their help was really rude and it would have been nice if you clarified in your first post that you couldn't find what you needed with google on your own. You could have at least clarified it a bit less rudely when you responded, if not from the beginning. :/
Oct 27, 2011This entire thread is a bit useless. Don't we see them constantly? Can't we talk about something more constructive, or at least more entertaining? I love Minecraft and I want to talk about that, not how other people are copying it, or how it copied other games, or even how the concept of copying isn't new. Can't we just talk about creepers and sheep, or something?Posted in: General Gaming

I think blue flowers would be cool for blue dye. Lapis is just stupid, IMO.
But then what would we do with Lapis Lazuli? It can't just be taken out, especially since lots of people reeeaally love it.
Also, you have to take into account that some very saturated, beautiful dyes have been rare in real life for centuries. Take for example, purple dyes. There was a time where people with purple clothings were considered very rich, and that's because they were. They were rich enough to afford purple dyed clothes, and that's how that color became synonymous with royalty.
You could think the same way with lapis lazuli, it shows what you've accomplished by having blue or purple wool decorating your home. It's actually quite satisfying. :smile.gif:
Oct 9, 2011That's a really neat idea. I didn't really consider other colors of flowers to be any more than dyes, which would be rather conflicting. If we had orange and blue flowers, what would be the point of being able to mix yellow and red, or the point of lapis lazuli? I think it would be a shame for lapis to lose its usefulness. I really like your ideas for what other color'd flowers would be used for, especially potion ingredients and animal foods. :]Posted in: Suggestions
Oct 7, 2011please provide a link, I'd love something like this too. Is this program special for Minecraft and render the blocky photo in blocks that exist in Minecraft, or is it simply pixels? If there's one that exists more like the later I'd love a link to that as well. :]Posted in: Discussion
[Sorry for this little hijack, OP]

The only source that includes is the link to his twitter, which I already had. The Mojang team doesn't write the news posts that show up on the mainpage, so they know only as much as the fans and players do. That would be like linking me a wikipedia page with no sources as well.
edit: I will explain: Since I had no idea where the new Ender Realm was clarified by someone actually in the know, I assumed it was only a hopeful guess by the fans that they gladly latched onto. Because of that I was rather annoyed, but I tried to give us all the benefit of the doubt by asking where the sources were rather than yelling at everyone in every thread that mentioned the new Ender Realm. I'm glad I did so.

This thread reunites most of the speculation about the new realm. Strongholds in 1.9 pre3 have rooms with new crystal-like blocks in a portal shape, and a new "goop" block. Notch then confirmed the new realm and people started putting the pieces together. We assume the crystal circle will be a portal to this mysterious place.
The realm itself was mentioned and confirmed by Notch on Reddit, but I don't have the link to it. =(
Thank you so much for the information, it was very thorough, I feel much better now. :]

I'm sorry but I don't know, honestly.
My guess the Enderplanes originated by fan request. After all, from I read the dragon origenated by fan request to. So it would make sense that their both in one picture, to calm people down and let them know their coming.
But I mean, where was it said that that picture was of enderplanes? It was simply dark, had pillars, and many enders. Maybe there is another explanation? I don't know where Notch said that's what they were, or if he did, but I'd be very happy if someone would find the source for me. As for it being fan-requested, I don't remember it being mentioned nearly as much as the dragons have been...
I don't know, I'd just like to be satiated of this curiosity and slight annoyance.
Oct 7, 2011Minecraft is worked on by the same people it has always been worked on. Its outcome isn't that of a genre, or predetermined outline. It is simply Minecraft, and every facet of it will always reflect that. :]Posted in: Discussion
I haven't been able to try out potions yet, but once I get my wizard tower up and running I'll squeeze every last drop out of that amazing addition!
Hopefully your post will help those struggling with not being able to identify just what Minecraft truly is, and why they were drawn to it in the first place.

Maybe it's not likely, I'm only speculating.
