I kinda had no idea what to do for double slab textures. I'll come up with something soon hopefully.

For the dark oak double slabs, try doing something like laquered darkwood for floors (long planks) and wall panels.

    The Kingdom of Helanger

We are an uprising faction on the low fantasy medieval roleplay server Shadows and Daggers. A mix of medieval English, Norse and Slavic culture, we plan to found a "seafaring" kingdom. For this though, we need people.

We do not use skype for anything other than big-scale planning, creating roleplay, and discussing our culture, as well as some miscellaneous out-of-character discussion.

    Joining:

There is no application form for the kingdom. If you want to join, PM me on the forums and we will discuss your character. If I find you alright, I will add you to the skype. Denial does not mean you can not join the server however, apply on the Shadows and Daggers thread.

We are in need of more labourers, like farmers, fishermen, miners and woodcutters. Hunters and warriors are also welcome, but they are not needed, nor encouraged, and workers can easily be levied. We also need a blacksmith, a baker and a tailor. Eventually an innkeep.

Your character should look Northern/Eastern European if you want to be a "blooded northeron" or whatever, or you could instead be of another ethnicity, just settling with us. It is important that you discuss your character with me before posting your server application.

We are in need of women (You can be male in real life) and perhaps a few children. Ranks are made up as we go.

posted a message on A less traditional armour set
Okay, so I've always been the one for armour that isn't split into helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots, for several reasons. Lately, I've been working on some armour sets that are rather split into helmet, gorget, bodypiece and tassets/boots, aiming to achieve a less blocky, and also more medieval feel. And I want to know what you think!

    Take a look:

Chain chestplate, iron leggings, iron boots

Chain helmet, iron chestplate, iron leggings, iron boots

    Iron leggings only

    Chain leggings only

    In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

    Full Name: Korthos Iretheus Ironcrow
    Current Age: 37
    Sub-race (if any):
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Korthos is the ******* son of a prostitute and some unknown peasant. The madame raised him as her son, but left him on the streets of Alras at the age of seven, for economical reasons. Korthos had to live off whatever he was able to steal from local merchants, and went by the name Ironcrow, his ******* name. At age 16, he fell in love with the beautiful noble girl, Agnethe Dandellion. She named him Korthos after her great-great grandfather. Their relationship had to stay secret however, because her father, lord Morthyn Dandellion, wanted her to marry a nobleman. A man saw them in the woods, and told her father. When he heard about it, he beat her, and days after, she committed suicide.

Infuriated beyond belief, Korthos killed Morthyn with a stab through the heart with a stolen shortsword, but he didn't run away. No. He was going to pay for his actions. When the guards appeared, he let them capture him. At his execution, a lord of House Carrion saw his passion and potential and bribed the guard to let him go. In return, Korthos had to become an eunuch and serve as a bodyguard. He was then named Korthos Iretheus, though he still uses his ******* name at times.

Ambitions for the Future: Serve House Carrion until death, find inner peace. He has gone through a lot, so he doesn't need any adventures. Doesn't mean he won't get any though.
    Personality:
-He has led a terrible life, so he does not fear death.

-He is emotionally unstable. He goes from cold and stoic, to very emotional, and he has problems expressing his emotions.

-He is stubborn. Changing his ways is close to impossible.

-He is loyal beyond belief, and will follow orders to the word.

-He is creative and artistics, and try to express his emotions through the arts.

Skills: Swordfighting, archery, parkour, painting, poetry.
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Korthos is a tall, pale, muscular built Northerner with a young looking face. He has messy half-long brown hair and his body is covered in scars. His right eye is made of glass, the other one is blue-grey. The left middle finger is missing. He is an eunuch.

He wears a blue-grey brigandine, a steel gorget and a plate covering the upper chest. On his back is a brown hide cloak, and on his shoulders, steel spaulders. On his feet and hands he has brown leather boots and gloves. On his legs he wears red and white vertically striped trousers. Covering his arms is a dark grey cardigan, which he wears beneath the brigandine. He wields a longsword.

Any other details you wish to share about your character: He is normally a tough guy, but at times, he gets emotional and sensitive, thinking about his youth, and sitting on the rooftops in solitude, writing poems and painting the landscape.

    Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
    ____

    1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

    Answer:
"Oi! Wha's yer bisness in the palace?" I say. He doesn't reply, and walks past me. "Strolling our way to the palace, are we? Clad in coal black rags? Ye kno' they'll stop ya, so 'less ye want to ge' yerself a ba'le, ye be'er turn 'round now." " off" he says, pushes me away, and runs. "Wha' ye fink yer doin'?" I say, then I pursue him, push him down on the ground, hold him there, and shout "Guards! Guards!" The black-clothed man pulls a dagger on me, trying to stab me. The guards appear, take him, and I get away with a few cuts on my chest and arms.

    2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

    Answer:
I try to sneak up behind them, throw a big rock at one of the goons, leaving him unconcious. Then me and the old man are outnumbering the remaining bandit. "Wha' are ye doin' here?" I shout. "Mind yer own damn business" he says. He focuses on me, knowing that if he attacked the old man, I could kill him. Still he tries to keep an eye on the both of us. "Muggin' an ol' man eh? Yer be'er than that! Leggit now, or we will kill ya." "I will." The bandit pretends to be turning away, then leaps at the old man, stabbing him through the stomach, quickly turning around and facing me. "Ain't this a thrill." I swing my blade at him, but I miss. He stabs me in the thigh, leaving me bleeding on the ground, before looting the old man and his friend, then runs off.

    3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

    Answer:
"Oi! Do ya have sum brandy? I don' hav much coin," I say.
"Well... I hav this an' this an' this li'l flask here. This one's thinned out, so it's cheaper." he replies.
"How much for the darker one?"
"What're ya willin' to pay?" he asks.
    "'bout 12 minas probbly."
"Only 12 minas? This be quality stuff." he says.
"Well... I dun hav the cash. How 'bout that one?
"Tha' one I'll give ya for 12."
"Can I go lower than that?"
    "Not much. Why?"
"I'm not sure if I'm willin' to lay down 12 for that."
    "11?" "I'd say 10."
    "Too low."
    "Come on, it's thinned out."
    "Still good stuff."
"I'm not in the mood fer hagglin'. Fine, 11."
    "Thanks fer visitin' my shoppe."

posted a message on The new leather armor textures for 1.4
For the medieval pack I am making, pants are sort of a leather coat, which can be dyed. The belt stays the same. On the torso, a tunic. Helmet will have a coloured band and the boots will have stockings.

In your situation, I'd have a few dye-able parts, or increase the contrast on the brown parts.

Ok, let me think about this:

-You gave the iron, gold and diamond block a weird frame,
-you painted two of the books in the bookshelf green,
-you draw purple lines onto the obsidian,
-you changed the wooden door, torch and ladder into black,
-you changed the bars in the rail textures cyan,
-you gave the bed a weird -Im on drugs- color,
-you turned the shading on the wooden planks used by the pistons into a pink color,
-you gave the diamond sword a weird blue shadow,
-and you copy and paste the yogcast skin over the old char?

    ...

This pack really doesnt belong here.

But it took two months to make, and he's just a chi... Oh nevermind, you're right. Grab your torches and pitchforks, people.
