posted a message on Why most are hating 1.9?

While i will admit i hate the update, i also admit it honestly changes very little. A high end sword is still going to kill a mob even with the silly mechanic. Servers that have custom items and maps will still have them, a fish that can one shot something will still be able to. Its not the combat mechanics that annoy me its the fact that its such a silly gimmick that they're obsessing over. Its like that moment in LOTR where the elf slides down the stairs on a shield, its a silly gimmick and a lot of people just hate silly gimmicks. There have been plenty of other gimmicks in the past that some people thought were cool but never made it, why is this one so valuable to need to shove it to everyone?

I'm biased i admit that i like simple games, its one of the reasons that i like Minecraft. People say that those against the update don't like change? I don't mind change as long as it makes sense, tossing a system like this into a game built on simplicity doesn't make sense nor does it flow. If people who don't like the update simply hate change, then for people who like the update i ask, why are you so obsessed with making things more complex?

So I want to play this map but, since the download is a rar file, I don't know how to get it into my saves where it'll work^^; I've tried everything

Changed download to a zip as I suppose they are easier to open though slightly bigger. If you're still are having issues re download the map to get the zip, then just open it and toss the map folder into your saves folder.

does anyone know how much play time it takes to finish on average?

I'm going to make a guess of around 35 hours-ish, but it's going to depend on play style a lot.

Descent of Absence is a CTM style map that that was created for Minecraft 1.8.8. This map is a full 16 piece CTM that uses glass blocks, is fairly linear and is intended to be semi difficult. This is my first CTM creation and has so far been balanced around my own play style which is largely single player based. Multiplayer should be possible but I have no experience balancing around it.

    Story so far:

You have been sent on a journey to discover the source of blight that has been spreading throughout the world. After traveling many weeks you see an old village in the distance that looks slightly odd. Not having a decent meal in a few days you decide to head to it, but make camp when it gets dark.

Look I understand the Pvp's are happy and I know people have been wanting things more complicated. But at the same time you need to understand that Minecraft is at its core simple. Look at it this way the crit mechanics in the game have always been questionable for many. Basically your making combat revolve entirely around jumping timing and special ,moves.(Just a metaphor...) Things that quite frankly the average Minecraft player largely ignored on a day to day basis. Yes you can say their adding new moves and shields, but as always... a vast majority of the players are going to want to ignore it.

Yes the mobs need to be harder, but please remember until you run into a zombie with full diamond and a speed potion, the mobs are still the same. After enchantments, potions and now arrows, the mobs are still for the most part normal. Making a combat mode that is much more cumbersome to use will not change that. Personally I am not looking forwarded to the new combat, because quite simply I have no intention of breaking out a street fighter move every time I run into a zombie. Now if you absolutely insist on changing the mode of combat than I would simply suggest you do that, and make a combat mode. Pvp's could have their cake and normal Mincrafters who don't want to run into Blanka in a cave could have theirs.

posted a message on Piston Bug? - Snapshot
Ive been getting a bug where pistions get erased by sand blocks above them. The bug seems to have been in the last few snapshots so i was wondering if i was the only one.

Ive noticed it in my chicken farm where i'm useing pistons and sand blocks as gates. The sand blocks seem to delete the pistons. There also connected to daylight sensors but i'm not sure that has any effect. I have tried to replicate it on a diffrent map but i'll admit i couldn't.

posted a message on Did the Terrain Become BORING? (UPDATE 6/5/13 - 1.7 is a biome update?)
Yes, I think they just need to split the bios in to two categories. Have forest, mountains plains, and then decide if its desert, green or what type of trees... weather should be an after thought. make each bio have its own weather pattern.

An area that's full of big bugs, like that area outside of AQ40 in W.O.W. ant hills, wasps, Beatles. Just stuff to make your skin crawl.

    Mode: SP

My computer reset while playing minecraft today, and while i realize thats never healthy for a minecraft map, i didn't expect it to complatly disapear form the game. I can open the map in MC edit but... it shows a map thats around 2 months old.

My question is this, Why did the map reset by 2 months? I get that the map is corrupt but why would it remember what i did 2 months ago?

I do have a backup of the map thats a few days old so its not really that big of a loss, i'm just really wondering what the heck happend.
