I guess what I was saying is taken wrong. At 16x16, there's only so far you can go. but you and others have done a great job. I just see "realistic" thrown around so much here.
I get ya. You're right. There's only so far you can go with so few pixels. And it's nowhere near realistic in any reasonable sense of the word. Only in comparison can that term even be considered not "completely wrong".
If you want to get technical, it depends what your definition of "real" is.
What's realistic to someone who's colorblind? Or someone who lives in an underground bunker their whole life?
Realistic moon textures, for example, would be far different from realistic underwater textures
Every texture on this forum is a realistic minecraft texture, because all of them ARE minecraft textures
Realism is circumstantial, it can be seen in different ways, what is real to me is not always real to you
I'm currently testing out the wild grass mod with this texture pack (which I've been using for several months now, great work !), and I came across a small problem.
I'm currently borrowing a temporary computer until I can fix my old one, and I can't use the HD Texture Pack fixer due to various issues involving admin access, so I can't use the HD terrain.png file. So I've been forced to use the standard definition terrain.png all this time. While using it and the mod, all of the grass are just pale squares crossed together, so I fired up Fireworks and check out the SD terrain.png file. Unlike it's HD cousin, it doesn't have the grass you added in a fix some time ago. So I just copy-pasted it, did some transparency stuff, and it works. Unfortunately, it's grayscale when I tried Minecraft again.
I'm trying new ways to fix it, such as inserting Mixcraft back into the .jar file instead of the Texture Pack Selector (only used it to fix a bug in Humans+ mod), but I'm worried I won't be able to fix it. Any suggestions please?
Well I never made grass for the 16x16 one, I could probably just make that for Version 22
Thanks for the pack! Really like how my world looks, just wanted to know if your trying to fix the compass problem. Once again, thx a lot for the pack.

Help! My compass and watch are broken! Netherrock looks like blocks of water! Bricks look weird!
You either used the Regular Texture Pack and didn't install the HD Texture Patcher,
or you used the Texture Selector Pack and you obviously didn't read "Problems.txt"

Use this http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/19139/ez7z to open winrar files is OSX. I don't like the program though and only use it when absolutely necessary. MacUpdates has practically every utility you could need to add on to your mac, bookmark the site, use google, and never ever get stopped at such a basic spot in an instillation process again.

You can't exactly create a Halo "texture" pack, because it would just look like another realistic pack
The items and objects are really the only things that differ between Halo (Reach) and the real world

Proof of concept please?

Yeah... maybe you should try reading that post...

Yeah, in the bin folder, you have to open "minecraft.jar" with some kind of archiver like WinRAR

Most of yours or most of the ones on the forum?
If you really want a realistic mix, download some packs and make it yourself

Obviously YOU chose to install the Christmas Edition, so you should know how to change it...
Did you even bother to extract the folder and read the instructions?

New cake block... opinions?
The HD Texture Patcher included in the download is NOT THE MOST RECENT PATCHER
Please download THIS patch and use this one instead of the one in the pack ---> viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=46173
This should fix any problems you have with the custom water and custom lava not working
