I'd be happy to help you fix the Forge compilation problems if I can, just PM me and I can try to help you troubleshoot.

Also, I'm not planning on bringing back SSP, I think Mojang has optimized its internal singleplayer server much better since 1.6, and either way it would make things a whole lot harder to program since I'd have to figure out how to modify vanilla client and server code, and I'd rather not mess with that stuff :(

    PM'd you.

    1.8 required a mod rewrite.
Exalm entered to university to study CS in 2014 iirc and he has no time to rewrite the mod at all.

This is exactly right, and the "Classic Enderman" you see in the image was completely written from scratch, although even that was somewhat difficult due to the almost complete lack of documentation for programming with Forge.
I have written several Bukkit plugins in the past, and they were incredibly easy because the Bukkit code came with Javadocs built in, and even had helpful tooltip info in Eclipse.
Forge, on the other hand, requires you to basically reverse-engineer every piece of vanilla code that you haven't used before, just to get an understanding of how it works, and then you still don't really know how to build on top of it. Honestly, I feel like I must be missing something obvious, because if I'm not, I have no idea how anyone ever managed to write a mod for Forge.

And yes, I believe the bugs section may need to be left out of this rewrite, since a lot of the code that caused them has also been rewritten to function differently anyway.
However, one of the few nice things about programming in Forge is that we finally will be able to seamlessly integrate with servers, without having to use completely different codebases for server and client.
It's gonna be a long haul, but if I manage to get some help programming it (or a LOT of free time), hopefully we can bring this awesome mod back.

I can help you figure out some vanilla things. I'm having problems with MCP since a long time ago though and it won't decompile the code for me neither on my old AMD Turion computer or in this i7 beast, it just won't even try to decompile it before failing,
If you can help me sort that out, I could help you

Also, if you wanna bring back the SSP mod, you shouldn't be using forge.

I guess 1.8/1.9 nightmare and university stopped you exalm :c

I've been reading though the pages of this mod and reading my 2013 posts here is just so nostalgic.

The problem with this mod is that it overwrittes a lot of the Minecraft code.

Exalm himself said that it would require an entire recode of the mod or most of its code just to make it somewhat work for 1.8 (not counting bugs). I doubt a 1.9 version would be easy.

It is, however, possible to do it, but to be honest it would be better to start from scratch.

Kodehawa posted a message on Saturday with Sach: Whats In a Name
    Quote from Talco123

My name came from when i was making a lego.com account. i wanted my name to be Taco123, but at the time, i could barely spell stuff. when i typed it in as Talco123, i thought that was how you wrote it. i later found out my error, but to this day, the name stuck. :D

Heh. "Talco" is a Spanish word aswell.

    -------

My name is a remix of "Kadokawa". If you watch Anime you should know what is that about, but let's take the history:

I had a Anime forum called "Mundo Anime Forums", it was pretty popular for some time, at the point that I was able to take a domain (www.mundoanimeforum.com as I remember), then, in that time (2009) my nickname was "Davicitox1999" (Yes, my name is David, I was born on 1999, my mind was lazy to invent something good I think), but, when I was registering in some forum (I don't remember exactly what forum) I decided to take a good nickname and I thought about it like for 3 days, until I said "Damn, better to press keys in the keyboard to see what happens". I writed "Kodejh" as I remember, so, I remembered some anime that I watched that saids "Kadokawa" and I wroted into the username field "Kodehawa". This is my nickname since 2010 and I don't think about changing it, since it became a part of my life.

P.S: My nickname is spelled "Kodejáwa", if someone wonders.

Yes, I'm so freaking sick and tired of them claiming that there is less lag/better performance ect. It is all LIES. Most notably in chunk updates are completely broken.

I can effectively halt chunk loading simply by rotating my view. Try it yourself everyone. Create a map, fly up a bit to see the terrain around, and spin your view at a viewable but decent pace, Open your F3 and watch as the chunk updates hover around 0 for 99% of the time while the area within render distance stays less than half loaded. I can do this until ultimate boredom or my arm grows weary. Stop, give a second or two and they jump up to ~40. Start spinning again, and it all comes to a grinding halt.

Back in Alpha and Beta days, where performance is supposedly "crap". I could allocate 4G of ram and practically have insta load terrain even on new generation. Now it doesn't make any difference. I can allocate 16G and Minecraft just sits there only ever using ~400mb at any point in time, failing to do but 2 thing at a time.

Mojang is getting good with the propaganda. Official announcement of improved performance every snapshot and release. People shout the praise as performance actually it continues to degrade.

    We need to accept it:

Every new update = Less FPS
Worst single player mode. Now their uses another network system that just print in my console things like:

Why can't you update your drivers? I can't think of any technical reason, all I could imagine anyone would say is just "my parents won't let me".

If Linux is capable of 2.0, Windows should be too, if you update your graphics driver. And if you can use OpenGL 2.0, that's not that far away from 2.1. Honestly, I'd say chances are updating your drivers would get you there.

Do you have spare PCI slots? Then you can get a graphics card, which will be tons better than using integrated graphics (even if it's a lower-end used card). Then you can get proprietary drivers, which in combination with different drivers, might allow it not to crash. Like I said, I'm in Linux and have had no problems with Minecraft.

Also, maybe you could try changing your options file (options.txt in ~/.minecraft/)to the least intensive:

    Quote from insomniac_lemon

The hardware isn't EVERYTHING. If your card came with or currently uses OpenGL 1.4, that doesn't mean it won't support higher.

The graphics card I got a few years ago, an OEM GTS 450 ($200 at best buy, probably way cheaper now), said on the box it had OpenGL 4.0 support. I was using v304 of nVidia's driver, and it was using OpenGL 4.2. I decided to upgrade my graphics driver today to v319 and now it uses OpenGL 4.3. On wikipedia it says that my card has support for OpenGL 4.4 (the newest version), I just need the driver that enables it.

Have you tried using more updated, or even different drivers? I'm also using Ubuntu, and was using v304 with 13w38a and had no issues at all, not even with the main menu. But I have a dedicated graphics card and am using proprietary drivers as well, soooo.....

....and yet another reason you should get a desktop instead of a laptop.

Also, as for why I was using v304 of the graphics driver is because when I installed it, v319 was labelled "experimental". I looked at it in August, and this was no longer the case. Now they added overscan compensation back into the settings. I don't get why they even ever had to remove it, I had to get a new TV just so I could use the newer drivers comfortably (because my old HDTV had a funky native resolution, despite supporting 1080p.).

    I have a desktop.
I can't update my drivers, anyway, in Windows are only capable of OGL 1.5 and in Linux 2.0, but in Linux I can't get the snapshot to start.

Exactly. Most of today's computers can handle it. If your on a computer that can't, then your computer is extremely old and most likely you don't have a decent video card in the first place. But cheap video cards off of amazon for about 15 bucks can get you a video card that supports at least 3.2 and higher. MAC OSX supports 3.2, Windows and Linux Ubuntu can support up to 4.3 as well.

    I have a 2011 computer with a card with OpenGL 1.4.
    So damn you.-
