And also I've started work on a new minecraft project thingy that's part of some youtube thing, I'm not gonna reveal too much now because a) I don't know if I'm supposed to and It's not really all that interesting anyway.
Sorry for being gone for like a million years, I've been doing other stuff and kind of lost interest in modding and minecraft for a little while. Don't worry though, I'm going to update all of this soon, and have a few new little surprise thingies with the updated release. Expect a nice "V2" within a couple of days.
Someone on reddit managed to animate both elbows and knees. He also put in an improved 1st person view where you see the legs and arms and all that. Here's the post.

The maker of the 3D Items mod said that his mod probably won't work with Better Animations? That doesn't seem to make sense.
Which "edition" are you using of his mod? Even if one edition was actually not compatible for some reason, I'm sure one of them would be. And, that's because I'm sure it's NOT directly an incompatibility with Better Animations itself.
Also, Mod Order Matters.
Start with a clean (unmodified) minecraft.jar file. Temporarily revert back to the default texture pack first. Also, you will NOT have to delete the META-INF folder using this method. Do NOT use MCPatcher (at any time).
Get Magic Launcher (do NOT use MCPatcher).
Get OptiFine (do NOT use MCPatcher).
Get the most recent "Recommended" build of Forge.
Get the "Forge" edition of 3D Items.
In Magic Launcher, add "Forge to the TOP of the list."
In Magic Launcher, add 3D Items (Forge Edition) as the second item in the list.
In Magic Launcher, add Better Animations as the third item in the list.
In Magic Launcher, add OptiFine LAST in the list. Ignore the error it shows.
Launch Minecraft using Magic Launcher, select the texture pack you want, and play the world you want.
Better Animations and everything should work fine together.

ALSO: I've heard from a pretty reliable source (a friend in real life who is a part of the EvilMinecraft team) that 3D Items was stolen from EvilMinecraft, so just know that you're using and promoting stolen code. Thanks.
With the "dogs lying down and rolling over" extra, I found that the puppies don't roll over (and yes, I held up the meat). Are they supposed to roll over?
No, I prevented it because their heads are way too big. Their head goes into the ground and their legs float into the air. Believe me, it looks terrible.

Splatacular Modulifacation, but I beleve the non poofy tail extra and the sit down wolf extra use the same class file so compatibility would require recoding wolfs so that standing wolfs and sitting wolfs are different class files wich would be very hard to do. (you see, I'm not a modder but I think I have an Idea of how they work) I would suggest a extra that is non poofy tails combined with sit down, wolf.

Because I'm not gonna do it. Next version, the regular tails are staying, but all wolves will be laying down, no non-laying down wolves. Hope that appeases most of you. Just take time to think about what you were putting up with in vanilla before this mod was made, and be thankful for what you get.
ragdoll physics is probably possible cause i saw 1 mod before that added ragdoll physics to blocks if you know what i mean so reagdoll people may be possible. I think ragdoll for all mobs and player would be cool.
I don't think you know what ragdoll means... one block is a solid object with no limbs attached. that doesn't qualify as ragdoll.
Wow.. this mod is truly amazing.. all I wonder is if it lowers the framerate any.
some things like the ghast and the squids might in large amounts, but I doubt it would be noticeable except if you compared the framerates bewteen massive armies of modded models versus those of vanill models
I don't think Lie Down, Doggy works all the way on MP. My dog lays down but I pull out some meat and he doesn't roll over. I'm sure you know of this before. Not sure if it is known or not, if so sorry for repeating it. And yes the dog is mine.
Ok I didn't know that Lying Down will not work with the regular tails. I don't expect you to make four different versions of the same thing, it was just a response to a question.
And Kodaichi, on which animation do you work now? Maybe make slime body, not nucleus will be like jelly?
NOTE: If you going to know how to make ragdoll physics in Minecraft, you will be the MOST FAMOUS MODDER EVER!!! But... Ragdoll physics in Minecraft is impossible
Yeah, I have no intention of even trying. You have to know a lot of crazy engineering-level math and physics in order to do that.
No just download the whole package that are in the "Features:" THEN Lie Down, it says it in the op, Download it all "(install these AFTER installing the main mod package)" Then download want you want from the extras. I am 95% positive the fluffy tail will be over ridden with the normal tail. But I'm not 100% positive.
They're the exact same file, man. There is no such thing as regular tails with lying down. Only fluffy tails with lying down. I can't be assed to make four versions of the same file, choose one or the other.

Coming from a modder who has made custom animations before - that is simply the most beautifully animated thing I have ever seen in Minecraft. I know how complicated the math and calculations can get behind things like this, and let me assure you, this was no small feat. Notch must have spent days on just the animating... *drools just thinking about looking into the model files*
