I'd like to report a bug. Not sure if this is exactly within the realm of BC/IC2 Crossover, but it seems to be the most sensible place to post. If the matter is simply an easy-to-resolve issue, I'd appreciate your advice--I know next to nothing about mucking with my item IDs or config!
The issue itself is that the BC Builder cannot recognize IC2 wire (any type). A blueprint containing wires may be made at the Architect Table without any issue, however, the game immediately crashes upon loading into a Builder.
I have re-created and tested this bug multiple times. I have also observed that Minecraft Creative Mode doesn't give me wires when I use the 'select block' (middle mouse) button on them. Again, I understand that this might be outside of this mod's scope, but I thought it would be useful to point out. That, and perhaps someone might be friendly enough to offer me a solution, if it isn't something to be bug-fixed in the next patch.

An Ottoman culture would be cool for sandy biomes. Also Turkish sabers
The Ottoman Empire may not have been around at the time, but the ~Persian~ culture was alive and flourishing! They are also distinct enough from the Hindi culture in architecture, philosophy, and language to be justified (IMHO, at least). Plus, it'd be REALLY cool to have Norman vs Persian raids.
Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem.

--- END ERROR REPORT a9e036b5 ----------
It may be important to note that this happened not long after clearing out a bandit tower that had been conducting raids on my village. I had to clear them out several times before the game recognized it and opened the chests.
Also, sometime during the excursion, I was swarmed by an oddly high number of mobs, and could not flee due to severe lag. I may also have been rubberbanding (on SSP???), or maybe I was just running in circles and falling back into the creper-blown trench. It was too laggy to tell.
In typical playtesting luck, I was unable to reproduce the error. This leads me to believe there may have been some issue with the way the mod itself was installed--upon trying to put 2.5.9 in my mods directory, I found 2.5.8 STILL THERE (even though I'd manually removed it earlier), and the auto-installer had a problem installing before I deleted the old millénaire folders. I don't understand what caused the problem, but it *seems* to be resolved.
My test involved large amounts of EU (energy Units in the mod), multiple generator types, multiple storage types, as well as water mills and solar panels (water mills have been buggy in the past). The system was built within the boundaries of a Japanese village. The goal was to stress-test by requiring large numbers of calculations. No crashes occurred.
I did, however, experience nearly-unplayable lag while a fishing-hole building was being constructed. This was only experienced while in fairly close proximity (2 houses or so away), and went away once I retreated. The lag disappeared completely once the building was constructed.
I plan to install 2.5.9 and play normally. If I get any more crashes, I'll boot up MCPatcher again and copy the logs for you. I have experienced crashes in the past, though I'm now very uncertain what caused them.
Elarys, you certainly SHOULD install IC2 with Millénaire! It may seem odd, but they complement each other QUITE well (if you don't mind a little anachronism, that is!).
Given the issues present, I would reccomend setting up you base a fair distance away from the village (but NOT so far as to freeze it!), and trade with them regularly. And if you don't experience the lag/crash problems I have, building within city limits will keep creepers at bay.
If you do get crashes, maybe we can work together to help Kinniken look into the conflict. I'm sure it'll be easy to fix--he is, after all, a god among modders.
Thank you so much for this mod, I think it is a really nice addition to minecraft. I am playing it with the Technic pack.
Right now I am living in an Indian village with another one really close. It is so nice to see that you can help the villages to grow and I think it is great fun!
However, the two Indian villages does not have either rice or turmeric stocked up. Is there something special I have to do to get them to grow this or does it come naturally as the village grows?
Thanks,
Cecilia
They come later in farm-type villages. Keep selling the villagers what they need (usually a HUGE amount of mud bricks), and they'll build it eventually! Also, check out the Sadhu quest on the Millénaire wiki. you're quite fortunate to have started out your experience with this mod so close to the source of the questline!
I certainly don't expect you to be very concerned with other peoples' mods, but I'd like to report that Millenaire V2.5.8 seems to have some major conflicts with Industrialcraft V1.95.
I've run these two mods together before, with very little conflict (though definitely there!). In the latest iterations, however, the frequency of crashes are too great to consider them compatible. Each crash is a "saving chunks" message.
I did not bother collecting an error message. If you'd like me to, I'm be happy to re-install and and crash my game for you! ;-) Again, I really don't expect you to fix anything, or to even give two rips, but I thought you'd like to know.
Has anybody else experienced this, or found a work-around for it?
I would like to report a VERY major and VERY strange bug for Millénaire 2.5.0 (previous version, on 1.2.4).
ALL of my villagers have vanished, and the signs do nothing when right-clicked.
At one point, I experienced a major lag-spike shortly after selling to the Dame in my military town. I thought nothing of it, but was forced to shut down/restart Minecraft. The game never crashed. After rebooting, I went into my mines for awhile. Coming back with plenty to sell, I found the village a ghost town, and the signs in the town center to be non-functional. However, upon pressing 'v' for a village list, it comes up (So I know the mod is still installed, and at least PARTLY functional!).
The mods I am using are:
* Full forge and all dependencies.
* Somnia
* Industrialcraft
* treecapitator
* Misa's texture pack (forgot specific name)
- The game was patched through MCPatcher for compatibility
I have run this combination of mods many times in the past, and for quite awhile in this iteration, with no conflict.
What's going on? Is there any way to recover my village, or should I just abandon my work and strike out for somewhere new?
***EDIT***: Upon shutting down minecraft and starting up again, all of my NPCs are back. :-?
Still quite curious as to what would have caused this. Scared the merde out of me!
Modloader, then Modloader MP, then Forge SRC, then Optifine. I assume the "if forge is absent" folder isn't needed, due to using the Forge SRC included with the .zip file. Didn't work, generated an error report upon startup that flashed away in a second. Would appreciate it if you could tell me which button saves the error report in the next post, rather then me having to search through the entire thread trying to find the specific post that says so.
Then tried Modloader, Modloader MP, "if forge is absent" folder, then Forge SRC, then Optifine. Didn't result in an error report during startup, but the program did freeze upon world generation once more, forcing me to use Task Manager to end the java process to terminate Minecraft. The complexity of program dependency Millenaire has developed has resulted in this being a total crapshoot to solve.
Forge can be a pain in the butt to get working right. I WOULD, however, recommend installing the full version as, once you do, you can use many different mods without the hassle of trying to fannagle Forge again! Using the full version of Forge also means you can COMPLETELY IGNORE all the other "if Forge is absent" files, quite a boon!
Might I recommend using the Millénaire installer, available from the wiki (as found on the OP)? It, too, relieves a number of headaches. A thing to note though: the installer will claim that your latest version of Millénaire is not up to date. Ignore that fact. :-)
Modding can be a little tricky, but I promise it's easier than it seems at first! If nothing else, you stand to learn something new, right?
I'm trying to download millenaire, and I'm on the ModLoader step. Each time I install ModLoader exactly how I'm supposed to, but I can't find the ModLoader.zip archive. What is the archive and where is it located?
Not entirely sure what you mean here...
If you're looking for the "mods" folder in .minecraft, you'll need to start up Minecraft itself once. The folder won't be created unless you do. I hope that's what you're looking for, it was a great source of confusion for me for awhile, too!
In a Norman village, I have one woman who comes to sell to me in the town center. However, she approaches from the BACK of the building, and will not walk around. If I cut out two of the interfering blocks, she will not jump the one into the town center. Furthermore, when I try right-clicking to interact, there is usually no response (I don't know where the sweet-spot is to make her interact, though if I try enough I can get the window open).
Most troubling, however, is that while she is "selling to player", if I try to switch pathfinding modes the game crashes to the "saving chunks" screen!
I am using a full version of Forge, as well as Industrialcraft, Somnia, and treecapitator in addition to this mod.
Edit: It crashes even when I am NOT interacting with a villager in any way. In the past, I tried changing the pathfinding mode to fix her, but it never worked. It also never crashed on me. :-/ Does it sound like my world file's corrupted?
Thanks Kinniken, did not realize it was supplementary! Now I've got Misa's Realistic installed, and the new Millénaire textures are showing up just fine. :-D

Kinniken outdoes himself yet again.
For those of you new to Millénaire--I remember when the big new thing in this mod was having doors.

ONLY the Knight and Dame have respawned. The rest of the village is empty (though the houses show names as if they're inhabited). What's going on???

This means that your texture pack will not display proper colors for certain blocks (such as water) if Forge is installed.
This really sucks. Does anybody know of a possible work-around?
