I don't think I have the capability of getting close to everyone. Some players won't let me due to their own security concerns. Furthermore, griefing everyone could be counterproductive, as the griefer may want to maximize damage to others, so I'd be doing exactly what they wanted me to do.
And then KILL them all!! Bring the server down with you and destroy any hopes of anyone restarting.
Or you know you could keep asking people if they know anything and try to get the logs so you can find out who did this to you, but instead of trying to get revenge you should notify an admin and get them banned.
I asked for logs but they wouldn't give them. I can't get them banned because griefing is allowed.
How would I destroy hope of anyone restarting? Can't they just rebuild?
My friends' base on a vanilla server was griefed a few days ago, and I want to get vengeance. However, I don't know who did the griefing. I've asked around, but no one seems to know. An admin knows of the ten players who may have been online during the griefing who might have done it by using logs, but they won't say who the players are. I'm going to ask other admins and the server owner for the logs. What else can I do?
I think it would be fun to have a vanilla server with a very small world border (say, 1k blocks out), as it would prevent players from running far from spawn and hiding. The only servers I've found that are like this have been one's trying to replicate the closed map experiment, but as far as I know, all of these servers have closed. So, does anyone know of such a server? If not, what about one that is similar, e.g. one with basic plugins or a somewhat farther-off world border?
In all of the vanilla and factions servers I've gone to, although players fight, they usually do so for entertainment as opposed to obtaining or protecting items, as one can easily raid a player's base once they are offline without needing to fight them. As far as I know, players don't fight over resources in other common ways of playing the game, such as kit PVP or capture the flag either. So, are there any servers in which players do?
I would look for an NPC village with farms (Wheat, carrot, potato) and a blacksmith (you now have a furnace).
You would need to get some sticks somehow. If you're lucky, you get some in the starter chest, or find some in another chest. Otherwise, you'll need to kill witches to get initial sticks. From there, you can either kill more witches for sticks or make a fishing rod and fish for sticks (you'll need 2 sticks to start with though). Hopefully, you would fish up more than 2 sticks before it breaks, and likely a few more fishing rods (even enchanted ones).
All of this would be very tedious. You would probably want to use some of the first sticks to make a pick (if you didn't get one in the starter chest) and get some cobble to make half slabs so you can make a mob farm to slowly (and automatically) accumulate more sticks.
A big focus would be on getting a thriving village set up, this would be challenging, but possible I think. Then you could trade surplus food or rotten flesh/sugar cane etc for emeralds that you could then use to buy tools. Once you get to there, you're pretty much set. Basically infinite supply of tools without needing to use any wood at all. Zombie sieges may be an issue though :-)
Why would use need sticks? Why not do what I said to do in the post before yours?
I don't know why everyone's saying it's difficult. Surviving without wood is incredibly easy. Simply dig a hole, go into it, cover the top, and don't ever move. That way, one won't lose any hunger and mobs can't attack oneself.
I would like a resource pack that is like the standard resource pack except it would have all textures be darker and less saturated, but I don't want to decrease brightness and saturation to each image one at a time. Is there any way I can do this all at once?
yaa... I don't know how to code java , but were there any other bad things you found
I dislike how you have to have at least 3 players in your faction to claim land, it's a needless restriction. Plus it seems almost no-one goes on it, so it will be hard finding anyone to fight. The server seems to be whitelisted, so if you could un-whitelist it, you'll probably have more players willing to go on. I'll have to go on the server to see more what it's like.
how can i make it take a very long time to break enemy blocks, any clue of a plugin like that that works with factions
also, then you can just brick youself in if it doesnt have a entrance, this is becuase, how will you get in if you dont have a entrance, remember, hidden entrances are ok, you can like have a button hundreds of blocks away, linked to redstone, so by the time you reach the door, its open for you. this was also set up in my mind, for planning, so you have to take into account, that theres a entrance, and plan with traps/men accordingly, also becuase there is no teleporting, how will you get in if you dont have a entrance, also we have a portcullis plugin, so you can just close the gate/passageway when they are coming.
thats my take but you did raise a few good points, do you see any other problems
I don't know of any plugins that make it take longer to break blocks, but I doubt it would be too hard to make. The length of time to break blocks is probably just determined by a single variable. Also, If you make it so blocks are breakable, but just take a long time to break, boxing yourself in will not protect you.

I don't know who the griefer is, so I can't find their mom.

I like the way you think. The issue is, the griefer might like others being griefed, so by griefing so many players, I might be helping the griefer.

How would that help me get vengence?

Could shoulder who? I don't know who the griefer is.

Why would anyone tell you they griefed your friends' base if you're their friend? Wouldn't they deny it to keep you close?
Edit: Also, who would I know to get close to?
