    Hey kiddos guess what?
    I just herded 12 pigs via rail to the victory pen. It took me 5 hours. Those pigs did not want to cooperate I mean seriously.

    Also I agree with the rule of no breeding animals in the victory pen and would like to add that it should be no breeding animals anywhere away from spawn. Although to be honest moving two of the animals to the victory pen isn't much easier than moving all of them since the difficulty lies in laying the railway.

    It really says something about the super hostile series when you know that as soon as #10 comes out you're going to say "screw you" to Skyrim and play super hostile instead.

    The issue with that trap is it makes use of lava which appears to be (at least on the harder maps) something Vechs doesn't seem to want to use anymore. I guess you could make one that has a void hole instead though.

    Huzzah! Map complete first try on hard with no deaths. Screw the "recommendations" I ran straight inside that crazy pyramid immediately with everything in the starting chest and didn't leave until I climbed the ladder in the treasure room. Every trap was set off but I was prepared (except one time near the start with that long lava trap. I didn't have enough blocks and ended up making a bridge of chests).

    Scariest moment ever: one of those dispenser turret rooms that had triggered before I arrived (Endermen... inorite?). The redstone was still going so the dispenser was making a rapid clicking noise I had never heard before. Lets just say I heard the clicking before I saw its source and my immediate thought was to get the hell away from this "Time bomb" trap. Oh the lols when I figured out what it was.

    Anyway that was an awesome 2-3 or so hours.

    Question for Vechs (or anyone else who knows): have the pre 1.8 maps had their traps updated so they don't explode before you reach them? I think I remember that being an issue and I want to reply them on 1.8 SMP but not if the traps are all broken.

    no matter what direction I approch from I can't get any closer then this.

    I opened a new version of the map and I switched it over to creative mod to quickly fly over there and check if my save was corrupted somehow and it still crashes in the exact same spot. If I fly up high I can go above the house but as I go closer it crashes.

    Is there any wool in this house I really want to be able to complete my VM :sad.gif: is this a known problem for 1.8.1?


    I dunno why thats happening but it seems to be happening to a lot of people. As for wool in the house:

    I sure hope not. It's nice to have a real challenge every now and then but I've never found the romhack hard maps as fun as the easier more casual ones.

    Huzzah I have been to hell and back. Nightmare realm is conquered on hard. Still I don't think it was nearly as hard as legendary. That's probably just because Vechs was making it while 1.8 and 1.9 were coming out so it was unclear how those changes would adjust the difficulty.

    Also Achievement get: Avoid the void. Your precious void didn't kill me once but plenty of other things did.

    And another thing
    Balestein castle: BEST DUNGEON EVER. Totally awesome. I vote Vechs do an entire super hostile set in a castle like that. Although there may be issues with keeping the scenery original the whole way through.

    You gotta use
    Minecarts and minecart tracks. Just place a track section inside the box through the opening and then enter the minecart you place there and it will pull you inside. Then just do the same thing to get out again.

    The inclusion of blaze spawners actually suggests thought for the future of the map, recognising an update coming and planning a second layer of game is pretty much the opposite of what you suggested.


    First of all does anyone know where the grey wool is in #8 its the last one I need.

    Also I guess you can't blame him for endermen doing what endermen do but you can blame him for giving them the opportunity. That whole dungeon just felt really cheap.

    I mean I got the wool from it but the trap was still armed when I left (I set it off later). My approach was just to walk through the trap breaking whatever looked safe to break. Still it felt like Vechs was crossing the line from unfair into the land of unfairly unfair. I'd rather Vechs think of more creative ways to make the map romhack hard than just blowing up wools. It's like the easy way out or something
