So I was bored today, so I played minecraft. then I thought to myself, how cool would yor own dragon be? So I game up with this great idea.
Ya know when you defeat the dragon, all you get is experience and a way back home, well there needs to be more to defeating a dragon, like that egg it leaves, but you can't pick it up. Well if you have a certain item like a sword you can pick it up. Then you can bring it to the surface. So you place the egg somewhere and if you don't mess with it for 2 days, a dragon will hatch. You can feed and tame the dragon with flesh. If the dragon is tamed, the eyes will be green instead of purple. After 7 minecraft days, the dragon should be fully grown. If you get a saddle, you can actually ride the dragon. And tamed dragons won't destroy blocks

I saw a thread about this back in December 2010, it was a lot better than this one. Good idea, just kind of went about it lazily though.

Adding a picture of what it would look like and how it would affect gameplay, SMP mode and the likeliness of balance would be nice too.

    Quote from Shadow320

They should create dwarf CITY in a giant underground dome where the houses and everythingish is stone or metal and all thru the village are stone pillars(supports) and have tall roofed coridoors streching out of the main part of the CITY and leading to shops and houses.there should be a garden thing in the middle of the dome with stone trees, stone statues and GOATS!!!! and the dwarfs will roam around and pretend to mine and you can buy ore and mead and other stuff from them.ALSO THEY SHOULD BE RARE :smile.gif:

also my "Cats shouldnt sit" link.

    Plz comment

While it could be kind of nice to meet people underground, dwarves probably wouldn't be the best thing to supplement since the other NPCs added to the game haven't been completely fleshed out and would be better suited to fill the role, as advanced and probably unlikely as it may be.

Oh wait, that's right. The admins here a anal-retentive nazis. I see your point.

Nothing left to do now but offer our support for this thread.

I would also want ™ to be supported as well.

    Quote from tonei39

    In English that means...

Translated to english with Google Translate:

I noticed a strange problem, where Saplings when reaching the "spawn_tree" mode, if the spawn template they choose doesn't fit the terrain it is grown in, it will not spawn until the dirt or blocks in it's template are moved. Sometimes when you move these blocks, the tree will spawn instantly.

Generally all trees have a variation of templates they can choose from. My suggestion would be that, when Bonemeal or the "spawn_tree" moment is hit, that if the template it chooses conflicts with the surrounding world, it will chose another or cycle through them until a suitable one is found and then grow into that.

This would make Dirtwall Tree farms more suitable since the Dirt Walls will enforce the trees to grow branches higher than the dirt walls and be larger when Bonemeal is applied to them. When you go on Sapling planting routines, one rogue dirt block on the hillside will not hinder it's growth and force micromanagement of the soil upon you.

More fruit and trees would be nice, but how would they be different than say, apples in terms of healing/hunger?

posted a message on My ideas of what would make minecraft better
    Quote from yoshi9048

    Why do people do this?

This is a forum where YOU -- the poster, the writer, the architect -- makes the suggestion so that inconsiderate jerks like me can downvote by pointing out obvious shortcomings of said suggestion.

Underground cities are possible, but they may not be that interesting given the lack of light nor the cramped space as you really have less than 60 spaces of vertical height to show the dwarven kingdom off.

Volcanoes are randomly generated and populated throughout the world, look for the specific conditions, may be rare, but they do exist.

Pirates... why? What's next? Ninja? T-rex? Oversuggested wishlists? At least one of the four came true.

Like literally downvote or did they not actually take that suggestion for the subforum? Because that would be nice.

    Quote from creeperman11111

Me and my friends have been thinking of things to add to Minecraft that would make it more interesting. For example under ground citys or volcanoes or even pirates. I would also like to hear your ideas. :wink.gif:

Underground cities would take a long time. What would they be made out of?

For Pirates, boats should be expanded on first, since the only possible boat we have at the moment...still needs some fixing.

Volcanoes are already somewhat possible, but unlikely due to the land generation.

In the Maps section people have found "volcanoes" and you can check there for the downloads.

    Quote from Writr

This isn't story-telling time. This is the Suggestions forum. And your suggestion is complete and utter ********.

Why? Because Endermen, in all honesty, are still incredibly weak. True as it may be that killing them can take some time, true as it may be that they are more powerful than some of the other mobs in terms of damage they deal, and true as it may be that they can avoid arrows...but the fact still remains that water, sunlight, lava, and the good ol' sword can take them down.

Endermen are not overpowered. If anything, they are exactly the opposite.

Edit: I find your signature ironic because you are completely wrong. Endermen ARE susceptible to water damage - in fact during rain they will often die, unless they manage to teleport underground or into a desert - and as far as I'm aware Enderpearls have not undergone any kind of graphical change. Get your facts straight.

    I agree with the above.

they look fine as they are, and as many people have suggested, Texture packs can deal with aesthetic problems.

Well I have a lot of ranches with sheep, cows etc, and I kill them on a daily basis to collect the materials.

What to put this experience towards is also important.

But it's best not to overcomplicate the collected XP either.
