So, I was playing in the snapshot, heading to get some Sand, and this happened.
Yeah, apparently, zombies can now be angered by Skeletons.
Edit: Also confiming that one of the first shaders are bugged, and is making the screen black.

If you mean the screen with singleplayer and those, then not sure. I know the Mojang screen does stay small, often. Also about the bugfixes, I believe they made snapshots so people could find bugs, while the team can have more time adding content and fixing bugs.

I have been playing it and it doesn't seem very smooth to me. If I can look off into the distance and see a mineshaft from above ground then it is not done. If I have to stop my boat because I don't really know what's in front of me and I don't want to crash into blocks that haven't loaded yet, then it's not done. What other released games have these problems? None that I can think of. It's more of a beta thing.
I appreciate that they're adding new content, but it's not a substitute for fixing major bugs. And they're adding way too much content. I don't want to have to spend hours researching changes made to the game if I stop playing for a month and then return. I'd rather return to see that the engine was improved, and I'd love it if they made it easier to install and (de)activate mods.
By the way, last I heard they had planned on releasing the mod API back in January. Was that ever done?
They do work on bugfixes. They tried to fix the lighting error, which sorta worked. The only thing is it only works on maximum smooth lighting. Also, they did work on making chunk loading better. The thing is, as new things get added, there are new bugs. That's probably one reason they made snapshots. So people could report bugs, and the people working on minecraft can have more time bugfixing. But if something like the Mesa biome bug from 12w36a wasn't found by the creators when they did a quick test, and they said it was working correctly, how well do you think the community will react? Also, if you think it's easy to do that, you try fixing the lighting engine by yourself, with the basic minecraft lighting engine, in a week. It's not easy to fix a bug like that. They do have bugfixes in each snapshot, and at least some tweaking to get rid of the major bugs. A few of the bugs they got from the snapshots alone that were considered 'huge' were fixed asap. Don't think it's unfair, it's that bugs are easier to get rid of the shorter they exist. That's why the major bugs are major. -

As for all you people complaining about Mojang "stealing" peoples content from mods 1) You are using MOJANG's code it implement your (or others) ideas into their game. 2) I very much doubt Mojang is going into these mods and taking their code which means Mojang is coding these ideas in with their coders by hand so there is no stealing involved. In other words Mojang can use things from the mods (that aren't based on another game, a show, etc.) without having to give any credit to the modders.
5) The only mod that HAS original ideas(from all the ones I've seen or even heard about) is Mo Creeps and Weirdos, -

Every update always brings out about how Minecraft changed too much or is too X. If Minecraft just stayed the same, people would tire the game and move on to play something else. I wish more games followed Minecraft in terms up adding new things.

It's been a bug in 12w32a that villager zombies randomly spawn due to the fact that it's STILL a zombie (can turn zombies to villagers the same way as zombie villagers)

Is there a way to remove an upgrade from your items? I currently have an Alumite pickaxe that got auto smelt when I didn't want it. I was planning on replacing the head soon, but considering I got the upgrade i didn't want, I wanted to figure out if I could remove the upgrade or if it's just more useful to replace the pickaxe completely.

Edit: False alarm, he was inside the village. I now made a pit for Pete (thought of the name when bringing him back). Now that I think about it, I should of called him Pete the Pick Peck. Also, is it possible to get the items with the gold hand back from him? (I spent 10 diamonds on the pick)

I'm using a bit of mods with this one. Two noteworthy mods are Ars Magika 2 and Biomes O Plenty. I was flying around, mapping out the continent to see if the Taint was bad in the whole thing. I dropped my map, and went down to grab it. I grabbed it, and this appeared:
I took a screenshot to make sure it wasn't a Magical Forest biome. It's a Pech Stalker BTW if it changes anything.
Edit: If you see on the minimap, there's a second Pech. I really want to know why they're more common in the Fungi Forest biome than a flipping Magical Forest Biome.
Second Edit: I unpaused and threw my diamond pick at it. I'm going to try to use a lead and get him to my base.

They'll spawn in player made Magical Forests. I think it might need a light level of 8 or lower (same as Hostiles), as that was when I seen my only Pech spawn... before walking right into Taintacles and died in front of my eyes.

When I first found a silverwood tree, I thought Nodes would still spawn like they did in TC3. So when I seen the black dots on the trees, since I didn't have my Thaumometer and it was before I made goggles of revealing, I broke it. I didn't realize it was a node block until I was able to get the tree aspect.
I think there might of been buggyness with the look of the taint biome that I found out WAS loaded when I was at my base. On a semi-related note, I need to get more Taint fighting things, and fast.
I'd say the wand Focus: Frost should work. I never tested it, but it's the water one, so I believe it'd do more damage to them.

Do you mean 1 shard per block, or 1 shard per 9 blocks? Because if it's 1 per 1, there might be a bug on your end.

So, this is news to me. As I said, I found a tainted land (I think) Saturday. I was there for no more than 1 minecraft day before heading to my base. I also made my house at a completely different Village than the one close by the Tainted Land. I have no idea how it was able to spread from a few chunks to about 12 without it being loaded. When I found it it started as a purple area, and I wondered if the Taint biome from TC2 was added back in. As soon as I realized it was, I stayed away from it. Unless of my mineshaft somehow gets close enough to the Taint, I feel like something VERY odd is going on with that biome.

I answered your question already. Anyways, isn't it that you can only have a 1 hour MC world without having bought Minecraft? If that's true (as I believe it was like that since 1.4), then it wouldn't even be worth using mods.

This, I've been fighting with the taint for awhile. It seems to move one block at a time, but in a weird way too. It goes from Bedrock to sky. It's a line on the Y axis, but moves on the X and Z axis. Same type of effect for Pure Nodes changing areas to magical forest, and the Blooms reverting the land. Though Taint spread has no stopping point. Also, this is from what I've seen, but I believe taint mobs will only spawn in chunks full of Tainted Land.
