Sighing, I unsheathe my blade and hand it to the guard. "Not a scratch" I say. Turning back to the table, I continue to sip my milk and eat my steak, watching the newcomers to the usually quiet tavern carefully.
((You're right, I guess. Change that please, Gold))
A black figure entered in the tavern and looked the people there. He looked that they were looking him. "What are you looking at?" - He asked the people. He put his new bow next to him and sat down in the other table. After that he ordered a glass of water. But the people kept looking at him.
"Give me that bow. Weapons aren't allowed here.", said the full iron armor man.
"Really?. I don't see any rules anywhere." - said MetaDestroyer.
"Give me that bow."
"Will you do something if I don't do it?" And MetaDestroyer slowly took the bow and put it on the table.
Wooow, you're powerplaying a bit there, could you edit your post and be more careful?
"Um, sorry, weapons are not allowed here". The voice came from a young man with full iron armor standing a few steps from where the group had gathered, but no one had realized when he got there. His hair was blond and he had blue eyes.
Alaric looked nervous, "Yeah, it's a new rule, he's from the City's Watch", he said from the counter. The man shyly extended his hand to receive the weapons.
"I will give them back to you when you leave".
((Tell me if I'm taking too much time to answer, it should speed up when the adventure really takes off, anyways.))
Wow, this story is phenomenal! It's an interesting new twist to have the main characters be faeries and pixies instead of people. I like it, and am excited to see where it will go. Keep up the splendid work!
Thanks! I hadn't really noticed that little thing about the diversity of the characters, in fact.
I'll tell you first that this tutorial is outside minecraft and sometimes inside. But it is very useful for map makers or resourcepack makers and you're free to watch the thread. And I'll post this thread in mapping forum and resourcepacks forum later. So first, this is about custom sounds.
What you need
I think you know about the playsound command. Isn't it? And you know you can execute a sound with this command:
/playsound mob.endermen.stare @a ~ ~ ~ 90 1 1
If you didn't know it is like that. You only have to change the playsound name for a different sound. So this is very useful but there are some maps with new sounds different from the ones that minecraft has. And you ask yourself "How do they do that?" (Not for the ones who know how). For make this you only need a file converter, I use a website in the link here, a computer , obviously, and a voice recorder. I use Audacity. Download it here. (And sorry, the website is in Spanish). That's what you need. Now let's see how to do all these.
Steps
Ok, first you need a resourcepack. It's easy to get a resourcepack. Just create a folder with the resourcepack name. I'll call it "My resourcepack".
Now we'll look for the minecraft folder. Search %appdata% in your PC and open the folder. There is a folder called ".minecraft". Open it and there is all the minecraft information. Ok, if you want to change the textures of minecraft too so choose versions, the version where you'll make the resourcepack and later open the executable jar file with WinRAR or your folder explorer. And there, copy the assets folder and paste it in your resourcepack folder. Ok, now you have the assets folder in your resourcepack.
Ok, when you have done that, open the notepad and copy this:
Where it says DESCRIPTION write whatever you want. That will be the resourcepack description. Now save it and call it "pack". Don't write anything else; just "pack". And now you have to convert that file into mcmeta file. You will change it.
Now we have the resourcepack. Now we'll make the sounds. That's why we're here. In your resourcepack open the assets folder and next open the minecraft folder. There you will see a lot of folders where you can make your own textures but we'll only make sounds. There will not be any folder for the sounds. We'll create one. create one folder there called sounds.
Open that folder and create other called custom. Now we have the folders. The next step is record your voice or record something with the recorder and save it in a WAV file. Now we'll open the file converter website and convert it in a .ogg file.
You choose the other details and click convert. Download the .ogg file and paste it in the "custom" folder. I called the audio file "test". Remember the name. And sometimes it takes a long time so don't worry if it works slow. When you have done all this go back to the minecraft folder IN your resourcepack; where are a lot of folders more like blockstates, textures, texts and many more. Now open again the notepad and write this:
But don't write that exactly; write some name that you will write in minecraft to execute that sound instead of MINECRAFTSOUNDNAME. And instead of FILESOUNDNAME write the name of the .ogg file without the .ogg. If the .ogg name is "test" so write:
{
"test": {
"sounds": [
"custom/test" ]
}}
And that's it. Your resourcepack is ready. You only need to put it in the resourcepacks folder in %appdata%/.minecraft
Now start minecraft and use the custom resourcepack. And now write
/playsound test @a ~ ~ ~ 90 1 1
It will work. If you don't find the resourcepack inside minecraft so compress the resourcepack and try again. I hope this help you. You can make talking characters with this. It is very useful. See you this Thursday for a new commands project in "Learning Commands". Comment whatever you want and you're free to ask. See you later.
TL;DR basically because the maps I'm working on are made specifically so they don't need a resource pack, but still this is awesome and definitely a step forward to your other threads! It's still easier to use an online resource pack maker, but keep up the good work!
((Would it be against the rules for my character to have a pet baby creeper that can't explode? Or is that too much of a stretch? I can change it if necessary.))
You can have her, but don't be angry if I get her kidnapped or dead very soon.
Steve Craftwood opened the door of the Creeperton tavern and walked in, with a carrot in hand and Cubie behind him, following him. The pub used to be a farm, but the current owner, Eror Mistei, had bought it and turned it into a comfortable place for eating and making friends.
A glowstone candelabrum hanged from the wooden roof and the seats around the two tables in the building were unusually empty. Only one villager stood behind the counter, Steve had visited the tavern many times, and instantly recognized him as Alaric, the cook.
"Hey, Steve! What do you want to eat? As usual?", Alaric said smiling.
Steve Craftwood:
"Hey Alaric" I reply with a smile. "Yeah, the usual, steak and a bucket of milk." I sit down in a one of the chairs, wondering to myself why the place is so empty today.
Deneth Farmer:
A hooded figure walked into the tavern, her face and hair concealed by her green cloak. She glanced at the other patron and his pet pig, and sat down at his table. "Quiet night," she chuckled, "I hope I'm not interrupting your date with Miss Piggy here."

Now! I took a long holiday, but I'm back!

That sounds weird coming from someone who hasn't even made an IC post...

Dead? Ohnonononononononononononononononono. This not dead, I was just waiting for anyone else to join. Am I taking too long to answer? If so, tell me.

That's fine, approved, but remember this is the OOC thread.

Oh, sure. It's OK if it's dialogue, I never realized that.

OK I'll start an IC thread here.
