Yeah I'm not trying to kill the pigs. I've got a pretty snazzy farm set up already.

I understand basic redstone knowledge but what I'm looking for is someone to design something specifically to punch out a pig onto the surface and then quickly close the ground back up before the pig falls back through the hole, as well to not kill the pig from the fall, and with just one action. I don't want to prime anything. I just want to hit 1 lever or just 1 button and that's it. I understand that if a pig's not on the piston then a pig aint gonna come up and I might have to punch it a couple times until I get a pig.

There has to be absolutely zero wiring on the surface too.

For whoever has already created it wouldn't mind creating it again let me know. And for whoever knows exactly how to do this without any problem, let me know too. I don't want to recreate it, I want you to build it. What I'll do is get in contact with you over PM and work out the details. But you'd pretty much be given access to come into my world and build it.

Name your price though. Lowest bidder, highest redstone competency gets the job. Don't waste my time. :smile.gif:

    Thanks.

The locking would be much easier if you used the floodgate mod, as it would be hidden.

I think i can do this, and it wouldn't be all that hard honestly. Ill work on a prototype hopefully tonight if i have time. (I will use floodgates to show how hidden it will be)

Also, i can make a button or a lever, which would you prefer?

    EDIT:
The buton: you hit it, it pops it up and closes behind.

The lever: When its on its open and when its off its closed.

Makes no difference. Whichever makes the most sense to use. I imagine a button would be ideal since the timing would be fixed everytime, versus if I use a lever I have to time hitting it on and off... hmm... Are you sure you're the right man for the job? Message me on here, so we don't clog up the thread. Thanks.

Again, I want to hit one button and have the ground open up, shoot up a pig, and the ground to close back up.

Rested state should be with the ground closed.

And a prototype would definitely be nice to see. I understand the design of this isn't difficult. It's simple. One opens and the other closes. But it's getting the timing perfectly so that the ground closes before the pig starts falling back down. It's that perfect point we're talking about. Let me know when you have something for me to look at though.

This is what I'm thinking from a side view. A ceiling that's 2 blocks higher than the head of the pigs should be good. This will give you 1 block of room to move your redstone wiring around if you need to. If you don't need it, then bring the ceiling down.

    Is this possible?

A trap door opens, a piston shoots up a pig and the trap door closes as the pig is in midair. If someone were to design this up, I may paypal them a small commission for it.

The only thing about the design would be that I'd want one button/lever pull to do everything I just stated.

    It worked thanks.

You guys should indicate what values are available for using/replacing. What range, specifically. Picking any number out of the air is what I interpret from the instructions.

    I've got these mods:

    ModLoaderMP
    ModLoader
    Elevators
    Teams
    Shelves
    SP Commands
    TMI

When I load Pistons' files into my bin I get a black screen upon logging in. What's going on? What's incompatible with Pistons?

I put everything in from Teams Mod into my bin, in the correct manner and it crashes.

I did everything individually and it crashes ONLY when I put the mod_Teams.class file in my bin

    What's up with that?

    I've got a question:

I just want the teams mod. What would I install to just have the Teams mod?

I don't want anything else like guns.

I currently have Mod Loader so do I just download the Teams mod, and throw everything into my bin folder and that's it?

My Buzzy's aren't despawning anymore. I think what might've happened is I walked around with 2 tamed Buzzy's around an area with a lot of hostile mobs, and 1 was killed while the other teleported to me with weird timing and I thought that it despawned. It's good now though.

But yeah Bob-Ombs still being weird. Maybe if you made a video of your Bob-Ombs not exploding while you were in its killzone, so I could see what it looks like. I'll be a bit reluctant to take these guys with me while spleunking where I would be possibly cornered and approached by a hostile mob from behind.

    ---

Everyone seems to be just suggesting mobs just to suggest mobs. Consider the purpose of these mobs you're suggesting. Do they add or take away from the gameplay? Are they going to just saturate the game with more **** walking around? There's nothing special about having a ton of characters that drop stuff other mobs already drop.

Someone made a suggestion for Kirby, and when I read that I immediately thought, Why? Why? Why? It's about as bad of a suggestion with a reason, but you don't even give a reason. However, I suggested something to Freak in his More Creeps & Weirdos mod that he thought was a great idea but he just wasn't sure how to go about it. I'll come back to Kirby, so whoever suggested the Kirby block idea or whatever, don't get sad faced yet.

I'll present the same suggestion that I offered Freak, to you Ginno, and maybe you can beat him to the punch.

All these mobs have little to no purpose apart from killing them to retrieve their drops. That's it. Taming a mob is fun and all but there's nothing terribly utilitarian about having a mob follow you that fights along side you. There's nothing special there, or original.

Here's something original that the ridiculous Kirby suggestion inspired:

A block/mob that acts as a garbage disposal that you can put **** you don't want, in your inventory, inside of to be disposed of. So, if we're doing a Kirby, you could right click Kirby, he opens his mouth, and you just dump all your gravel into his mouth, right click him once more, and then he closes his mouth and carries about his biz which is probably just wandering around a smaller area inside of your home, not being annoying or getting in the way.

Another variation of the same idea is to make the infamous Golden Pipe. Crafting is simple and you don't have to create new items. Just use gold blocks, not ingots, like this:

    :Yellow: [] :Yellow:
    :Yellow: [] :Yellow:
    :Yellow: [] :Yellow:

It'll simply be a block, with a lip on the top, but when you place it down you can right click it to indicate where the hole faces out of. Those of you familiar with Hip's Piston Mod know what I mean about this. If you right click on the side of the pipe, the hole will face that side, so you can put your gold pipe on the wall, or even on the ceiling and you can throw your **** upwards into the pipe, (if you have a low ceiling.)

    How you could code it:

You could possibly code the face of the pipe where the hole is to have the same qualities as lava where if an item touches it it disintegrates. Obviously you want to remove the sizzle audio, and the harmful qualities of lava in case the player touches the face with the hole.

If Kirby occurs naturally in the world I would make him SUPER SUPER SUPER rare.

There's nothing wrong with being able to craft them as well, especially if you do the gold pipe. Both are $$$

We already make incinerators, so how about a block/mob that acts in the place of this. It'd be epically original and practical.

The main thing here is that we're suggesting mobs/ideas that have a purpose and make the game better. Do Bob-Ombs make the game better? Yes, they do. They offer a practical solution to a problem and there is great balance, they disappear, (explode) when they are used. Do Shy Guys make the game better? Maybe, but I'd say yes. If they trade crafted items like bookcases, jukeboxes, records, dispensers, doors, then yes. They do make the game better. Do Parabuzzy's make the game better? They certainly do not, but that's OK as long as you don't have 3-4 other mobs that ALSO don't make the game better. A Parabuzzy is a cute, tameable worthless mob despite the fact that it drops items used to make the very worthy Bob-Omb.

As a marketing major, I have to implore you to not go overboard and make anything else that is equally as worthless and equally as cute as the Parabuzzy. The Parabuzzy is the face of your mod. His ordinary in-game use is excused by how ****ing cute it is. When people see the Parabuzzy now they don't think Mario. I certainly do not. Does anyone else? Parabuzzy = 8Bit's Mobs. You don't want to make a bunch of other cute tameable, worthless mobs that compete with the Buzzy. Maintain the value of all your mobs by not inflating the mod with a bunch of similar value mobs.

I digress, the Podoboo suggestion is another worthless mob add but it adds an element of creative design to the game where players can create synchronized fountains of cascading fireballs jumping straight up in the air out of lava. No drops, no kill, just movable. Again, worthless, but it's original and has its own use that doesn't take away from the game, in fact it adds to it. Little fireball with cute black eye balls is simply a plus!

So, let's try to keep the suggestions original and also backed with reasons. I'm sure if someone put some brainpower behind any mob suggestion you could sell just about anything, from a Yoshi to a Whomp.

Both of those are good ideas.

Mini dim glowing lime green skull above the Buzzy that flashes. If the skull looked like the skulls on the TNT here, http://painterlypack.net/resources.html I think it'd be $$$, plus it'd fit your creative theme.

F3 to see the health bar would be good if you could pull that off, but the flashy mini green skull might be better.

And I'd vote for either notification, music or written message when you're telling dude to stay, or follow. But since you already have noise to indicate he's tamed, maybe a visual notification might be better. Your Parabuzzy's narcolepsy has kicked in suddenly. Your Parabuzzy is pretending you're on an invisible leash. Those are both ridiculous, obviously.

8Bit: OK, Buzzy's make a noise when they're tamed. I hear it. They follow me around, attack hostiles like rabid pomeranians, and float around when I tell them to. All is well.

Some suggestions though. Some kind of way to tell how full-empty your Buzzy's life is so you don't dump a ton of fish into him prematurely. Life bar can be visually distracting, maybe some kind of hue change in the shell or skin. I had a regular Parabuzzy wreck 2 skeletons for me and I couldn't believe it. They're pretty weak so I knew he needed fish, but I just wasn't sure how much to give him. I use TMI, but what if I was down to my last couple hearts and I only had 2 fish? Do I give them both to the Buzzy? Or do I split 1 and 1?

A notification for when you're telling him to stay or follow would be a nice touch too for players on the move. Sometimes I can't tell if he's making cute noises on his own, and if I right clicked him or the ground because they circle around pretty quickly. A puff of matter for when you tell him to stay or follow I think would help. Or a chat notification. Your Parabuzzy will explore with you. Your Parabuzzy is going to float around.

Bob-Ombs are really cool as ****. I tried some more tests to see if they melee hostiles while I'm in the killzone and they could really care less. I heard one of them tell me to get the **** out of the way, but I didn't, and I died.

Audio Mod indeed fixed it. Sounds are awesome. I'm glad I figured it out.

Other bugs mentioned are still there though.

The Bob-Ombs definitely still explode when you're close by. I tested it in a number of ways but it didn't seem to be working.

The Parabuzzy I tamed despawned too. I was just walking around my base with the Bob-Ombs and he was following for a bit and then he just wasn't there.

    Bug Report:

My Bob-Ombs don't make the cute sound when I put them on the ground.

The remote doesn't seem to do anything except tell me that I am the Bob-Omb!

When I punch a Bob-Omb it explodes as it is supposed to. It turns red and counts down. BUT, a Bob-Omb or the same Bob-Omb is in the detonated hole jumping up and down. When I walk up to it it explodes. When I stand afar it just stands there looking at me all cute.

I'll post some Parabuzzy bugs next when I find them.

    ----

OK, Parabuzzies don't seem to make any noises either. I'm not sure what I've done wrong. The Jar (class) files are all loaded correctly, otherwise I wouldn't be looking at Parabuzzys and Bob-Ombs, and the Resources Folder which only had 1 folder, Mod, I put that folder in the Resources folder. When I peek inside of it though I do see that it has 2 folders, 1 for Parabuzzy and 1 for Bob-omb. What's up with the sound?

    Other Para-bugs:

I tamed one but I had no idea I had. If it's some kind of audio notification and I didn't hear that's understandable, but there should be some kind of visual notification too so I'm not just dumping fish into my little friend.

When I right click him he does follow me, but when I right click him again, he still follows me. I need dat mofo to sit tight or just hang around a small radius and have fun while I, myself go elsewhere.
