Today, I feel like I accomplished something! What started as a quick trip into a cave to check for close by gravel, unveiled a spider dungeon very close to the top(within 15 blocks of the cave entrance). So first, I armed myself with dirt blocks, and went and blocked off the entrance to the spider place so they couldn't get out then blocked off the larger part of the cave(for 2 reasons, so nothing could get me while getting the spiders, and because there is a ton of gravel at the entrance to the cave that i can now get in relative safety). After that, I went back home(around 40 blocks away) and armed myself with a few clubs and some sticks and torches, and I killed all the spiders, ran in quickly, and placed down torches to stop spawning. Then opened the chest. Here is what I found. I'm actually quite proud of myself. And there is a horse close to my home that I can now get.
I am also very close to my first pickaxe. Just need 12 more nuggets!
A long awaited update on my progress(I had a ton of very bad starts and never ended up get anywhere worth mentioning). But after playing a bit in a pretty good world that I found, Ive made some better progress.
It's day 21 in my world now. I have spent a couple nights in my new home. I've finally moved from my first starter home (the desert hole in a ground, though slightly adapted to fit my needs). Into a slightly larger version of my starter home quite a little bit away. I have a bed, chest, sandstone oven, and I'm dining on salads and the meat I manage to find. Ive no negative levels aginst me. Though no positive ones either. I've died about 6 or 7 times, but always manage to get my levels back to 0 before dying again. The only tools I've been able to make are flint axes and wooden clubs. This is best I've ever done in a world. Normally before I even get to day 15, I have so many negative levels that it isn't even worth trying to come back from it. But I'm getting better at this mod.

Well... I'm starting back into MiTE. Been a while since I last played. I ended up rage quitting after some bad run ins with a couple skellys and zombies getting into my shelter. But I've been wanting to play again lately, so I thought, why not. Gonna give it another go, and I'll update on progress.

And I will show you the update information about mycelium.
Mycelium can be created by planting a brown mushroom on a tilled earth block that is damp and has been fertilized with manure (the brown mushroom will convert the block to mycelium in half a day or so; you can use bowls/buckets of water to dampen farmland directly if you want)
Brown mushrooms can only become giant-sized while on mycelium, and may do this on their own without bone meal fertilization
Mycelium gradually produces brown mushrooms over time and can be harvested and transplanted using a shovel or mattock

If they take awhile, that's fine. And if it's the case, may I ask how long they do take to grow? (Not grown into huge mushrooms, but to produce another mushroom near them.)

Dandelions are plentiful and in each direction, not to far off, cows, pigs, and sheep can be found grazing. Some sugarcane has been relocated closer to my home, and I'm in the process of relocating some cocoa to the outer parts of the closest bit of jungle. Last night I was able to earn myself an entire piece of flint from a single gravel. Sticks were my next priority. A nice tree yielded 2 sticks and I crafted a hatchet. Then I had wood! And some sheep had been kind to me on previous days. I had 3 wool! A bed followed. But before I could turn in for the night, I knew I needed something for breakfast. So I made some bowls and gathered up some dandelions to make some salads. The plan is to now craft some shovels, get a bit more gravel, then a clay or sandstone furnace.
Edit: Yha.. Just a little bit ago, a zombie dug down into my cave and let all the other zombies in(I was using night to process some gravel). I ended up getting to level -31. I'm beyond pissed.
Alrighty Avernite.. I'm new the mod(Just started Friday and it's now 12AM Sunday Morning). This is literally the best mod ever. I've tried many to get me back into Minecraft. But all of them are too complicated to learn, ore this, ore that, this dimension, this way over powered mob, so on and so forth. But this mod brings out the best(And frustratingly worst) aspects of Minecraft. The realism this adds is incredible. I can't stop playing! I've finally found a decent start in a world(if only this blasted rain would stop!). I'm no where near even remotely good at this mod, but I've figured out how to survive my first couple of nights. I don't know what kind of crazy mind you have for creating this mod, but I thank you for it. You have sparked my Minecraft interest once again, and I can't wait to see how I progress in the mod.
Welp.. Seems I had some awful luck first time playing this mod. I spawned on a lonely island.. No mainland anywhere in site. A single tree and a little sand on the bank. Yha.. I'mma be coming back to this save after I've gotten a good bit of successful experience with this mod.
Anytime I change the setting to where my java is, and then click save, it just goes back to what it was before I changed it. It wont stay to what I change it to.
I know that forge doesn't use Java 8, but I've never even downloaded Java 8, I only have Java 7 on this computer. And everything was working fine. Then I updated the launcher as it said to at the top of my launcher, and since then, I can't use forge at all. I have no idea how to get back to the old launcher and now I am get frustrated. I can't figure out how to fix this. Can someone please help me out?
Also, by not working, I mean that when I click play on a forge profile, it just wont pull up anything else. The launcher closes, and then nothing else comes up. If I try to play on a profile that doesn't have forge, it works perfectly.

I believe myself to be an okay builder, I'm no where near the best or among them. I'm looking for a new sever to join as the one I was previous on was closed. This will be only the 3rd sever I've been on, and the previous two both had very welcoming communities. I'm looking forward to meeting new people, and enjoying another community-like sever.
