I appreciate that, but I think that two people are ideal for a project like this.

Unless you're a good artist, having a nice Resource Pack would be better than using default textures!

Okay so I have an idea for an Adventure Map and I wanted to see whether people like the idea before I start working on it.

Basically, it's sort of Elder Scrolls-y in the sense that I'll be making an entire continent filled with citizens and side-quests. There would be several cities and towns populating the continent and the player would be free to wander around. There'd also be dungeons and "temples".

Dungeons would play more like TES, basically a short and sweet cave, fort, etc.

Temples, on the other hand, would be where we get into the Zelda elements. These would be large, sprawling, and full of puzzles.

The framework for the story is as follows:

You wake up one night in a strange room. You have no idea how you got there, where you're at, or even who you are.

Your head hurts, your vision is blurry, and you feel dizzy. As you come to your senses, you realize that you're in a prison cell. For what, you couldn't say.

Eventually you hear a voice in your head, it tells you that you need to escape as you've been left for dead and that you have a very important role to play in this mysterious world.

After you break out of your cell and make your way out of the prison, you find yourself in a small village.

Basically, you can talk to certain townsfolk to get small side quests that range from going to a place to kill bad guys to investigating a theft to retrieving a lost family heirloom, and everything in between.

Eventually the story unfolds and you get tasked with travelling the continent and help each major city. This is where the Zelda elements come into play. You delve into large temples to kill the boss because they stole an important macguffin, or they're hurting the populace, etc.

Throughout your quest, you'll free some Testificates from slavery at the hands of a cruel giant, you'll travel to Hell and back to defeat an evil necromancer, and so on.

The world will be littered with books that help to flesh out the world, as well as secret treasures to find.

So, what do you guys think? Do you think that this would be a thing that people would enjoy?

Oh okay! I was confused or something, I dunno. ._.

Anyway, yeah I totally see what you mean. You don't seem rude!

I do think that your idea is a lot more worthwhile than mine, and I've actually decided to just populate my town with a custom NPC mod because it also offers the guards I've been looking for and having humans alongside Testificates would be weird.

Now I'm just gonna raid any Testificate villages I find, murder them all and burn their ugly little houses to the ground!

Your idea is similar, although it is MUCH more complicated. I just want to assign Testificates to certain homes/workplaces, you seem like you want a greatly expanded NPC Village system.

Hey I don't know if you're still looking for ideas, but I have a (probably) simple one.

Basically, I want to be able to tell all my Testificates to live in a specific house and to hang around a certain area during the day.

I'm working on a village and I'm making really nice houses and shops that I'd like to be populated with slightly more "intelligent" Testificates that all go where I want them too. I want each one to use only one house, the one I made for them. I also want them to spend the day in the right area (for example, a priest would wander around a church, a farmer would wander around a wheat field, and a smith to hang around inside an armor shop).

posted a message on Mod to allow you to assign Villagers to specific homes and "work areas"
So one of the things I'd really love to do is to create my own village.

Right now, I can do that but there's one thing that really bothers me: Villagers basically just wander around and go wherever.

What I want is to be able to tell each villager where to go during the day and at night (for example, I could tell a Farmer Villager to go to a wheat field during the day and the farmhouse I built next to it at night).

I just want to have my Villagers be in places that make sense, instead of all of them wandering around aimlessly.

(P.S. If this mod already exists, I was unable to find it and would appreciate a link.)

    Thanks!

Here, I made this for you. He has a Phoenix tattooed on his back and I gave him a martial artist look because that's just how I picture fire mages.

    Anyway, here's a link:

If you use it, please give me credit. And I'm willing to make alterations to it to better suit you.

posted a message on [1.6.2] Timber! - Cut trees down in one swing
I LOVE this mod, it really eliminates a lot of the boredom I experience when it comes to doing large wooden builds because I like to make heavy use of Fences, which everyone knows are very expensive to make (because if my math is right and this heat isn't cooking my brain to a delicious golden-brown, a log makes one and some change fence posts).
Right now, I'm building a bridge that I hope extends a kilometer (I want that achievement) and I'm using 9 fences and 3 half-slabs per meter.
Needless to say, I need a MASSIVE amount of wood, which is only possible because:
A.) I'm in a Jungle Biome with Large Biomes on
B.) Your mod turns those 2x2 trees into a light summer rain.

Unfortunately I updated to 1.3.2 on accident, so the build is on hiatus. I will be INCREDIBLY appreciative when this is update, more so than I already am for all the tedium you've saved me.

look at my idea too, i need a modders opinion if this is even possible, and hey op, better than wolves also features wolves crapping to make tanned leather for important stuff, so maybe you want them out of trouble?

I'm confused how this pertains to my topic?
I'm looking for a mod that gives tamed wolves the ability to wander like wild ones, not anything about crafting.

you could always get the better than wolves mod and make a stuffed wolf block. you can cut him in half and use his meat slabs to make a VERY interesting floor! :biggrin.gif:

The thing about the stuffed wolf block is that it still doesn't move.
It's like a sitting wolf, only it sounds adorable when you break it.
I want my wolf to wander around my home like he wandered the plains of my world when he was wild.

And you're suggestion about making wolf meat floors is sick, depraved, and fall-out-of-my-chair funny.

posted a message on (REQUEST) "Wander" mode for tamed wolves.
I've made myself a really nice, big house on my single player world, but since I'm the only person, it is very empty.
I decided to liven the place up a bit by bringing in a pet wolf, but the only way to get him to stay is to have him sit, and that's not very interesting.

And since I don't have the time or patience to make a mod myself, I come to you fine folks with a request. The mod does not need to be that complex, I just need something that will:

A.) Give tamed wolves a "mode" like "sit" or "follow" where it wanders around like a wild wolf would.
B.) Add the ability to put up "invisible fences" that the wolf cannot cross. My house has a fire-place and I'd hate to come home and find that my poor wolf wandered in and cooked himself. (Or you could just make it so that wolves are smart enough to avoid fire. I'm not sure how smart the wild wolf AI is, but I know from experience that pigs are dumb enough to walk into fire)

Thanks for reading, and an extra special thanks if you decided to help me and all the wolf lovers out there.
(P.S. I did a search for "wolf" and didn't find anything, but if somebody knows of a mod that does this already, feel free to just link me to the download page.)
