Huh... I guess I could see why. My opinion could be different if I had a warning.

I suppose the difference is I don't agree with this individual that I misbehaved at all, and in fact have reason to think the person doesn't know the rules they are supposed to be enforcing very well.

This isn't my most recent issue, by the way, which you are familiar with, though I am still unhappy about that situation.

I sincerely doubt that most of you are on computers that are older than mine.

When I got mine XP was the new thing and I was looking to see if anyone had Windows 2000 because it had better security to no avail. I use ATI Radeon Xpress 200 series (integrated) with an Athlon 64 3200+ 1.99 GHz and have a gig of DDR SDRAM. I got it for around 300 bucks in 2005.

I use smooth lighting, fancy graphics, and it is a bit intense on higher render distances but it's not prohibitive to using them every now and then.

Funny, I always get a little pissed when I see mine because of the reasoning behind the warning presently there and the obstinance of one individual involved.

Ah. Well, I sincerely hope it does not come to that. Maybe PM Basic? I've had pretty good luck talking to him in the past.

If you do decide to go, please PM me or say something in this thread. I'd like to know if you've reconsidered and decided to stay, or went through with leaving, so I can expect to not see you again. Either way, good luck to you.
I'll consider PMing basic if I don't get a definitive answer one way or another within the next couple of days.

If the policy stands as enforced, then I feel I have no place at this site and my kind of posting is not welcome, and I do not intend to change my behavior to fit the policy as interpreted there by Shairn, so the only thing I can do in good conscience is leave in that case (or, more accurately, be permabanned for clear defiance and disrespect for a moderator's ruling which, based on the rules, is entirely within any staff member's discretion to do should my contention that the ruling is not in keeping with the letter or spirit of the rules be incorrect.)

It's up to the boys upstairs.

Oh and on a side note, I recall when I was banned it did not let me view any of the forums, including the "private" ones, which kind of defeats the point of having them for contesting bans, and the "contact the administrator" link lead to a dead noreply email. You cannot view the "help" thing at all and, in fact, cannot even log out to be able to view the normally publicly viewable things except by manually deleting your cookies.

Meaning I was permabanned unjustly, lead to a site that no one read, linked to an email no one answered, unable to PM anyone, post a complaint in the space where one would do that, read any of the things that would indicate where and what I was supposed to do, and the only reason I was able to resolve this in the first place was because I knew that the system doesn't actually keep anyone out who knows how to get a free spare email from google and sign up under a new name.

This seems to me like a system that punishes, albeit inadvertently, the people who try to obey the rules a lot more than the ones who actually are out to make trouble. I think that might be more of a priority to work on than whether or not Poe's law applies to internet banter.

That pissed off about this KarkasmolenKlok?
Rather a final straw. I have had one warning that I felt was anywhere near justified, I feel that basic solutions to basic problems have been routinely ignored, and that criticism of mismanagement has been met with a poor attitude and excuse upon excuse. I came here to contribute to minecraft, and the way things are going I don't feel that this site is useful for that purpose. If it takes my leaving to bring that to someone's attention, so be it.

My apologies that happened to you though. I do hope you decide to stay, I enjoyed reading your posts.
I thank you and I hope that this preposterous decision on their part is reconsidered.

I thought I disabled the support ticket site. That was a hacky solution for while the forum didn't support private sections, which it now does ("Help -- contact forum staff")

oops on my part, sorry :sad.gif:

I appreciate that, however that's also not really relevant as I made the ticket fifteen days ago when it would not have had that private section.

Also I'm serious, if in examination of that policy his decision was correct and that warning stands I request that I be permabanned.

You seem to wrongfully assume that I would do as you ask without consideration.
Quite the opposite, a lack of consideration is why I feel you didn't in the first place.

I'm not berating you, I was just offering a tip which I had no idea you didn't need because evidently I didn't receive your PM. Now, after getting a second opinion from another staff member, it has been decided that the warning was to stay. Whether you're joking or not, being rude is unacceptable.
Permaban me. Seriously, if that's the policy of the site, I've had enough of this site.

You did PM me? I don't remember recieving it owo
I'll try and find it in my inbox :ohmy.gif:

It was probably new.minecraftforum.net, because obviously someone banned me from the regular forums so I couldn't rightly be PMing people now could I?

Also I'm a bit disappointed at the lack of "wow I'm sorry, that was a careless ban on my part I should have known you better and given you the benefit of the doubt or at least read that more carefully, I am sorry and I shall remove that warning and be more mindful in the future" and the odd amount of berating me for not PMing you when banned.

No sir, I don't reckon I like that very much.
