    er here.

The conflict is definitely with UUM and Druidry. I remove either mod and everything works fine. The problem seems to have started with v1.5.8 (the reindeer update) and higher.

Cool, this helps a lot. Thanks for posting it!

I think I've identified where the problem is, and I should be able to fix it in the next release. It is indeed because there is another entity type with the name "Unicorn". When it is fixed, if there is a conflict with the main name (e.g. "Unicorn"), the code will try the backup id (e.g. "Ultimate Unicorn").

If you want a temporary fix, you can go into the mod config and change the Unicorn ID to something other than just "Unicorn". Note that all unicorns from this mod in your games will have that different name.

    Mod Overview

    Now with Kirin!

    Kirin

    And Hippocamps!

    Hippocamp

    (and still Jousting)

See how at the Jousting Page.

New Poll -What should be the next horse breed?

Wings, Horns, and Hooves, the Ultimate Unicorn Mod is a mod for Minecraft 1.8.x and 1.7.10. It puts into your game 4 new magical horse types (Unicorn, Pegasus, Nightmare, and Destrier - see below for details) and many new items, including magic wands, horseshoes, horse helms, pegasus wingtips, and more. Some of these items can be equipped to the different magical horses and give them extra magical abilities (and believe it or not, some they can use themselves)!

These magical horses are more than just your ordinary Minecraft mobs. They come with extra behaviors (just try to tame that pegasus without thinking, and see where it gets you), they have extra equipment and inventory slots, they can fight with or without their rider, and they can interbreed!

And this isn't just your simple interbreeding - these magical horses have DNA, and can pass on all or some of their traits to their children! Want a flying horse with a unicorn horn? Breed a pegasus and a unicorn! Want a huge horse with flaming hooves? Breed a destrier and a nightmare! Want a horse with ALL the traits?! Well, you can get that too! Just keep breeding... but you might want a DNA tester to make your job easier.

And if you're a master breeder, maybe you can find some of the secret mutant magical horse breeds... otherwise known as Ultimate Unicorns.

Lastly, you can create your own custom unicorn (a new colored magical horse skin with optional magic powers) that all your friends can see! Click here for more info (http://www.hackshop.com/unicorn).

    Nightmare shooting fireballs

With his tiny wings, you'd think the Nighmare's wing buffet would be underpowered. Those wings can't push as well as a pegasus's, but when near any fire, they harness the fire and fling fireballs!

    Using Ice Horseshoes

Ice Horseshoes turn water that your horse walks on into ice.

TNT in Horn Slot = Fashion Statement

Making a fashion statement - TNT on a unicorn horn? Slotted Horse Helms let you stick anything on your horse's head as a fashion accessory.

Unicorn Using Wand of Call Lightning

With a Wand of Call Lightning in a Slotted Horse Helm, your unicorn can call down lightning when he lowers his horn to attack! You can make him do it by hitting the 'F' key when mounted. He will do it on his own if not ridden and an enemy approaches.

    Wing Buffet Attack

    DNA Tester

Our DNA Tester shows us that the horse we are planning to breed has one Horn gene (H), one Big Wing gene (B), and one Aura gene (A). Its Hide genes are one Unicorn Hide gene (u) and one Pegasus Hide gene (p). (See yellow arrows)

    Magical Horse Purebreeds

    The Unicorn

Where to Find Them: Unicorns can be found in many biomes, but are easiest to find in the plains and forest biomes.

What can they do? Every unicorn has a horn, and these unicorns know how to use them. There are a number of evil creatures that are natural enemies to unicorns, and unicorns will attack them by lowering their horn and charging. When you tame a unicorn, you can tell him to lower his horn, and attack with it using the 'F' key.

Soft squishy things like meat and apples can be worn on a unicorn's horn.... Why would you do this? Maybe to make a fashion statement? In any case, you can do it.

Putting a slotted horse helm on your unicorn unlocks one of its most powerful abilities. With a slotted helm, a unicorn can equip a wand, and using the magic of its horn, attack with it! Any horse with a unicorn horn can use the equipped wand itself, or be commanded to do so with the 'F' key.

Unicorns also possess a sparkly aura that has unknown effects.

    The Pegasus
Where to Find Them: Pegasi are harder to find, but sometimes you can find them resting in plains, forest, beach, and hilly biomes.
What can they do? Pegasi are masters at flying. Once you have tamed one, you can ride into the sky just by holding the jump button. To descend quickly, push the 'C' key to make your pegasus fold up his wings and plummet.

On the ground, the 'C' key makes your pegasus perform a buffet attack: he beats his wings forward with great force, blowing back creatures and items in front of her. Stronger winged horses (perhaps even with magical help) have been known to throw creatures with great force off cliffs and to their deaths.

Take care when taming a pegasus! They are flighty creatures, and have been known to fly off with the inexperienced rider, dumping him to his death from a great height!

    The Nightmare
Where to Find Them: Nightmares like hot weather, so you can find them in the desert and savannah biomes.

What can they do? Nightmare hooves start fires wherever they strike, including in the air. Fire protection is highly recommended if you hope to tame one!

Nightmares have smaller wings than their pegasus cousins, so they fly differently, and have less maneuverability in the air. They run faster, however, and can fly through the sky at great speeds. Turn too much, however, or otherwise lose your momentum, and they quickly lose altitude and float to the ground.

A nightmare's wing buffet attack is not as powerful as a pegasus's, nor does it hit as wide an area. However, when near fire (created by the nightmare, or any other fire), a nightmare can harness that fire with its wings and shoot twin fireballs when it performs its buffet attack.

    The Destrier
Where to Find Them: Destriers like cold weather, so you can find them in the colder biomes, like ice plains and taiga.
What can they do? Destriers are simply monster horses. They are bigger, meaner, and more powerful. Just by stomping around, they destroy plants and bust through snow and foliage. When a destrier rears, watch out! Their kicks can kill, and knock down trees and bust dirt and other weak blocks.

If you breed a destrier with a horse of another type, the child is likely to inherit the destrier's large body trait. Any magical horse with a large size body will see some of its other traits improved: even bigger wings that are more powerful, and a stronger horn attack. This increase extends to magical items, as well! Try out Power Horseshoes, and see the difference.

All magical horses can kick creatures when they rear, and any magical horse equipped with a helm can perform a charge attack with the 'F' key, even if that attack may not be as effective as a unicorn's charge attack.

All magical horses can wear a chest and gain extra inventory slots.

New keyboard controls are summarized here.

    Breeding

Find out about breeding in the handy Guide to Breeding.

    New Equipment Slots

There are five new equipment slots for magical horses:

    1. Horseshoes slot
    2. Self-explanatory - horseshoes, including magical ones, go here. Better horseshoes give better bonuses to kick power. Magical horseshoes like Power Horseshoes, Ice Horseshoes, and Gentling Horseshoes have extra effects.
    3. Helm slot
    4. Helms for your magical horse go here. Slotted helms open up the horn slot for magical horses that don't have a horn, and allow for more eqipment options in the horn slot for horned horses like unicorns.
    5. Horn slot
    6. This slot is for items that attach to a unicorn horn. Slotted helms open this slot even for non-horned horses.
    7. Wingtip slot
    8. This slot is only available on magical horses with wings. Magical wingtip equipment items can improve buffetting power and cause other effects.
    9. Chest slots
    10. All magical horses can be equipped with a chest, opening up extra inventory slots.

    New Items

DNA Tester: The DNA Tester allows you to check a magical horse's DNA. With it, you can see if a horse you intend to breed has recessive genes or multiple values of a dominant gene you want it to pass on. It is a great help when trying to breed exotic horse types (including the mutant Ultimate Unicorns). Just hit a horse with it, and hover your mouse over the DNA Tester item. Next to its name you will see the horse's DNA.

Horseshoes: Horseshoes give your horse more kicking power, and some magical variants give your magical horse extra abilities.
Horse Helms: Horse helms help protect your horse's head, and allow him to charge your enemies. Slotted horse helms can hold items, either for decoration or for extra attack abilities. Slotted helms also do more damage, since they are fitted with an armored horn slot.
Wingtips: Wingtips improve the effectiveness of your magical horse's wing buffet attack, pushing enemies and items farther, and possibly even hurting them and throwing them into the air.

That is correct. The base max health for normal horses is 53. I thought 73 would be a modest bump over what normal horses have.

Seeing that the number of hearts is so large, however, maybe there is a problem with my logic. I'll check into it.

    Thanks for pointing this out!

So, I've been looking at the latest version and there is a lot that you didn't list in the changelog, and I have a few questions:

1: What is Dna2? I've already had a hard enough time getting Dna1 figured out, so a straight-up explanation of this new dna code would be appreciated.

It's more DNA data for future expansion. It doubles the amount of space I have for DNA.

2: Are there supposed to be the drops Unicorn Horn, Pegasus Wing, Nightmare Hoof, & Destrier Hide? And if they are supposed to be in there, why are they textureless?

These are things that will appear soon, perhaps in the next release. You don't know what they're for, because you haven't seen the code that I've been holding back (it's not quite finished, and needs some more polishing, but is coming soon).

3: What are the Ophidian and the Reptiloth? They show up in the code, but they cannot be summoned, and they don't seem to have a spawn trigger.

These are mobs that are part of a bad guy faction. I created them when I first started building my mod, and then put them off to the side when I shifted focus to magical horses (but left them in the code, just disabled). Ophidians are snake people, and a reptiloth ... well let's just say that it helps them go to battle.

4: What part of the DNA binary integer is used by the new swimming gene? Because I tried a few out, and it always messed with my hide code.

I'll let you know how that works when hippocamps arrive, which will be soon.

5: Not really a question, but I thought I should tell you; I figured out a method by which someone could add there own custom horse to the game. This would only work on single-player, and they would have to use a pre-existing skin (or learn java better than I have), but they could theoretically add all abilities to the horse, at supercharged level. I obviously won't be posting how, but I was able to do it. (Hint: Obfuscate anything you don't want people messing with.)

Yeah, that's not surprising. I kind of didn't want to deal with obfuscating the code, but maybe I'll have to reconsider. We'll see.

Overall, great update. I really like the new swimming gene as it means I'm no longer unhorsed because I didn't see that little pool of water on the plains. Looking forward to future updates!

Great! I'm glad you are enjoying the mod!

There are some cool, big changes on the way.

Yes, I was talking about the saddle. To be honest, I don't know why the stirrups render at all considering the game just sits you on top of the horse, as opposed to actually straddling the horse. Which, by the way, looks really stupid in multiplayer.

But yes, while not 'precisely' what I was hoping for, disabling stirrups would solve the problem. I'm actually thinking of replacing the horse armor model with my own, if I can't find a mod with horse armor I like. Suggestion: add obsidian horse armor - identical in protection to diamond horse armor, expensive to make (like 8 obsidian and a block of diamond or something. Maybe even nether stars,). Either that, or cloth horse armor made of wool and string that is purely cosmetic. The only reason I suggest it is because we have silver, gold, and white armor, but no black armor, and my giant black horse with flaming hooves looks stupid with white diamond armor on him.

Cool, I'll do that, then. I'll probably put an option in the configuration so you can turn on stirrups if you really want them.

It would be pretty easy to add obsidian armor. I'll put that on the big list. I agree that it would be nice to have black armor.

I HAVE A REALLY COOL BREED IDEA!

How about the legendary Kirin? (Dragon-Unicorn) If you haven't seen it yet, search "Monster Hunter Kirin" Very Fast,Jumps High,Summons Lightning every charge or whenever it gallops,Hard to tame,Hard to kill and BOSS FIGHT! It only spawns in thunderstorms and high cold areas, specifically Snowy Extreme Hills and Ice Spike Plains. It's a bit bigger than the Unicorn but smaller than the Destrier. Mortal enemy is the Nightmare and will basically kill each other on sight. Immune to fire and lightning and has a short tail. it's bluish-white in color and has a black subspecies which is stronger but smaller in size and harder to kill, called "The Oroshi Kirin". Once tamed,it doesn't need a saddle to control. so,what do you say? The Kirin is really cool and besides,it will make the "Ultimate Unicorn Mod" more ULTIMATE! :D

    EDIT:
Once Tamed, you can turn it into a girl/bodyguard to protect you by right-clicking with paper in your hand.
Here are some pictures of the Kirin,Oroshi Kirin, and Kirin Girl:

    The Legendary Kirin:

    The Great Oroshi Kirin:

    The Kirin Girl:

EDIT:Although it is very powerful,it does not have the same traits as the Destrier and cannot destroy blocks.

Definitely some cool ideas here. I'll add them to my list!

Actually, I made an account to use the Curse Minecraft Plugin, which led to me finding your mod, which led me to your website, which led me to this page, but yes. Also, I have decompiled stuff like flans and TMI/NEI, so yours was actually a lot of fun. Plus, it was interesting trying to figure out how your genetics coding worked. You did a much better job than Vanilla Minecraft at imitating real genetics. Vanilla horse breeding was a pain, especially when you only had a ~%30 percent of improving your stock when starting with decent stats. Yours makes it much simpler. And the main reason I was appreciative of your fixing the name glitch is when I summon pegesi/nightmares with boosted health/jump/speed stats.

I do have another question: how (if at all) does your mod change the 'normal' horse stats (health, speed, jump height)? Because I've noticed that the health and speed of your horses are above average, but that they can still be changed by inserting NBT tags in the /summon or /entitydata commands.

Also, was my assumption that the Dna1 code is the decimal form of the 32 bit DNA integer correct? Because, if so, I could probably throw together my own codes fairly easily.

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I tend to do that.

My horses do change the horse stats some: health, speed, knock-back resistance, and damage are all tweaked depending on the breed. I'd have to look to see how these values propagate to children of the purebreds.

Dna1 is stored as an integer, and if you set it with an /entityData command (or the entityData portion of a /summon command) you need to set it as a decimal number. All my accesses to it in code are bitwise, of course.

I've been toying with the idea of making some cheat code commands to make playing with the DNA easier, but haven't decided if I should do that, yet.
