1.) Your IGN: Kalmier
2.) Your age: 37
3.) How long have you played MineCraft?: Beta (But I've been out for a year)
4.) What Country are you in?: US
5.) What time of day do you usually play?: Flexible, but daily, and prob a few hours a day.
6.) Have you ever been banned from a server? If so, why?: Not that I know of.
7.) Why would you like to be whitelisted on our server? (two or more sentences please):
I'm trying to get back into MC. I want to relearn, and then expand. To get an idea of how I play, I had (have) a YT channel with ~8k subs.
(https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC72_Etez4jN-tTukA3zsT3A if you want to watch a vid or 3)
I would like to get some "help" in the form of knowledge to bring me back up to speed in the MC universe.
8.) Do you agree to the rules of the server?: Yes
* Your in-game name - Kalmier
* Age - 35
* Gender (optional) - Male
* Are you new to minecraft (or to online servers) - Nope
* Anything else you wanna add - www.youtube.com/user/TheKalmier
Be original where ever you can be. It's one of the reasons I think I'm doing so well is no one has thought of combining ideas into one channel like I did.
Keep videos light. I always try and use a brightening/contrast tool when posting dark videos.
Do multiple takes. Each 15 min video takes me about an hour to make because I keep redoing parts until it looks good.
Ask for Subs/Thumbs Up/Views. Like posting on MinecraftForums, and annotations asking people to give you thumbs ups and subs. Don't go overboard, just ask once per video at the end.
For the online tool, I first had it so that it showed -1 to -16 etc for negative numbers. I think it made some sense, but now it should only show multiples of 16, negative or positive.
The mod uses the same methods (for determining which chunk you're in etc) like the spawning algorithm so I'm pretty sure it's 100% correct.
About the +/- 1 thing:
It gets clearer if you stop looking at actual block coordinates and instead consider the borders. So from 0.0 to 16.0 there's exactly 16 blocks inbetween ie one chunk, just like from 0.0 to -16.0 , from -16.0 to -32.0 etc . So there's a symmetrical pattern with the borders at multiples of 16.
But Minecraft thinks in block coordinates. This works, because it rounds the value of your current position down to the next smallest value. So 0.5 becomes 0, -0.5 becomes -1 etc. If you're on -15.5, it rounds to -16.0, while -16.0001 becomes -17.0. That way, dividing these coordinates by 16 will return the right chunk coordinates:
0/16 = 15/16 = 0
-1/16 = -15/16 = -16/16 = -1
etc
And when spawning mobs it adds +0.5 to the x,z coordinates. So let's say it wants to spawn them on block 15/-16 (for which it performs the checks) which is still in chunk (1,-1), it actually spawns them on 15.5/-15.5
Not sure why you found the slime somewhere else. Maybe they jumped there?
What can happen as well with big or medium is that they get stuck in a wall block when spawning and then jump through that wall. Not sure if it can happen with opaque blocks, but I had that a lot when using glass. It couldve been caused by instantly splitting slimes (because they were stuck) as well, because the new slimes spawn with some offset, which could probably cause them to pass walls as well.
(I know we keep saying Y, but we both know ingame it's Z)
Ok, I think I understand what you are saying. So -1, -1 actually spawns at -.5, -.5 because it added .5 to the X,Z... but that would mean 0,0 spawns at .5,.5 So are you subtracting 1 to compensate on the positive side of the grid?
(that isn't a challenge, it's an inquiry to make sure I'm doing it right in my world.)
I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but do you consider that the chunks start at 0? (chunk 1 is 0-15).
This is true for negative numbers as well. If you go to 0,0... there is a 0.5 for X and Y, and a -0.5 for X and Y as well. So there are four blocks that are "0"
I ask because I was marking out a chunk I found a slime on, but my X did not match your mod. Mine was at -655. (16*41)-1 (-1 for that 0 spot). Your mod showed NO at that spot, but YES for -656.
Your mods Y did match though. -175 showed YES, which is (16*11)-1
Give me an example or show me another texture pack that has it, so I have something to work with.
I don't want to take someones work and post it here, but if you download Misa's texture pack, there is a "font" folder that has smooth fonts in them. (I usually just copy this into your pack, but for private use only)
There is the default one in the minecraft.jar file as well. (16x16 version)
I have minecraft.jar files with 1.5, 1.6.4, 1.6.5, 1.6.6 etc.
Is the 1.6.6 jar file a copy of the current minecraft.jar? If I mess up my main minecraft.jar file, and copy and rename the 1.6.6 jar file, will it work?
Also, if so, can I remove the 1.5, and the 1.6.4 and .5?

Used to play about 2 years ago, looking to get back in. (I'm relearning)
Have a YT channel with almost 8k subs. Kalmier's Efficiency Let's Play (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC72_Etez4jN-tTukA3zsT3A).
Looking for people that know the game pretty well and like building "contraptions" like farms, grinders, and redstone machines.

Kalmier here... once again.
So, I've been doing this KELP series and it's really taking off. I've hit 1k Subscribers and made a special for it.
I'm no professional video editor, but I hope you like this just the same.
