I love your mod! It's awesome! Me and my friend are starting a village, and we decided to make a library with your bookshelves, and we were going to write the stories ourselves, and use the printing press to make copies. But now with 1.7 coming out, you can copy books in the crafting grid. Okay so the point of this was to ask - is there anyway you plan on upgrading the printing press to make it still worth the cost? I really like the idea of making a printing 'business' so to speak, with lots of printing presses, but now it's not really worth it.
And, how will the map frames in Bibliocraft 1.5 compare to MC1.7's maps on the wall?
I know I'll probably get told to go away or something like that, but could you explain ModLoader for me? I have absolutely no clue how to do it/get it. When I search it, it just gives me a list of mods, not how to use ModLoader, or what it is :/
I'm pretty new to Minecraft/Java coding, but I'm good at programming. I know that potions are pretty simple, but I need some more simple potion ideas FROM SOMEONE WHO HAD MODDED so that they know what's simple, because I've had suggestions like 'Oh, make a potion that makes blocks easier to break!' and stuff like that, and I can't do that at all :sad.gif:
This thread is interesting in a psycological perspective, as it shows how easily humans try to find systems and patterns in things.I assume it is because two of the most famous minecraft seeds are "gargamel" and "glacier, both starting with a g, that people assume there might be a pattern with g's.
It is blatantly wrong of course, there is no way of finding patterns between similar seed names. If there happened to be patterns, and you could prove it scietifically beyond all doubt, you would simultanously have proven that the random number generator in Java is broken, which would have serious ramifications around the world.
I agree with the first paragraph, it is very true and thought provoking. But, your second paragraph caused me to log on and comment. NOTHING is random with computers. Ever. It's all a pattern, but seemingly random. If I told you these numbers
14, 27, 30, 10, 24, 29
You could find no pattern there, hence looking random. But they aren't random to me. I knew what numbers to put, because I remembered them. There was an in brain pattern. The same as a computer, which has a pattern but it is created erradically (sp?) as to make a seemingly 'random' code.
..enh. This sounds kinda cool but it shouldn't be that easy to get into the dream world.
In order to get into the Nether you need a good amount of obsidian (which takes a bit to obtain) but to get into the dream world you just need to sleep in a bed? Sounds to easy.
How about, you need to make a Portal to the Nether, then make a house in the Nether, place a bed, and sleep there!
Then you go into the dream realm, because the Nether is like a Hell or could be interpreted as a nightmare, so you go into the dream realm when you sleep in a nightmare. Just an idea :tongue.gif:
It's strange how my brain registered the way you spelled "ore." My first instinct was "What? Did he use the wrong word? That's incorrect, the correct word is..."
Then my mind went blank. I knew it was "ore", but my brain rejected it, as it sounds exactly the same as "oar." So I sat there in a kind of mental standstill trying to come up with the correct word.
Only after several seconds did I realize the solution.
Anyway. I think some kind of ore sniffing solution might be in order. Maybe your wolf could be able to bark a blocks behind which ore is contained.
I like that idea, maybe the dog could bark when you're near dungeons and chests as well. But a louder bark, or maybe he runs as close as he can get to the dungeon then barks to you!

Yes, some of us do. I've been working on mine for a while, changing to modloader would require relearning what I know and redoing all of it.
