I don't know how much of FMP's success is because it's actually better, and how much is because of people being strong-armed into using it. You can't use the new Thermal Expansion without FMP. You can't use Extra Utilities without FMP (I could be wrong about this one). You can't use Project Red without FMP. You can't use Translocators without FMP. And you can't use FMP without FMP Microblocks, unless you want to mess around inside FMP's jar file.
FMP is definitely better for the things that Immibis's Microblocks does not do, like putting two torches in one block space.
FMP and your microblocks are completely different things. Yours are more like eloraam's, You can put covers around certain pipes and wires. His is an actual api. Its also not just microblocks, it is multiparts. So the idea is you can have different actual blocks in a 1 block space, with microblocks being just an example of what you can do. So in project red you can run bundled cable along one side of a block, and red alloy wire on a different side, with itemducts in the middle. The problem with his API is that it forces you to have his microblocks, most people probably want them anyways but still.
So I wanted to update forge multipart, the problem is it disappears from the mod folder when I load up MC, so I just dropped the new version in the mods folder and loaded it up hoping it would delete the old one, and now it keeps saying "you have mod sources that are duplicate within your system" and then lists the versions of forge multipart. How do I fix this?
and this is the crash I get when I put transmitters/recievers next to red alloy wire. its not just a crash either, I cant seem to use that world anymore
If you think about is Elo said she would not give an ETA, but she did have one, but did not say, she expected herself to have it finished by about now, because of her tweet.
we have passed her ETA so it probably is not going to take too long
I hope......
....well maybe. But she of course tweeted that before 1.6, so if 1.5 only did a *little* damage, 1.6 could have done a lot more. And I suspect 1.7 might be coming a little earlier then expected
Many people would appreciate not having their existing wires and gates deleted.
I think it would make the mod WAAAAY better though. I was playing around with project red cables (which use multipart now) and it allow you to have gates, wires, torches and anything else that uses it (like extra utils cables) in the same block space. I think if you dont change to it this mod might get obsoleted by Project red
Found a strange bug with painted slabs. When you paint a slab with most blocks, tthey work like you would expect, but when you paint them with some mod blocks (blocks from MFR and BOP for example) you can only place top slabs no matter how you place them
edit: it seems that this only happens with certain blocks from MFR/BOP like the meat blocks for example
This is really awesome; it makes my custom 1.5.2 FTB pack complete! There is only one problem which is causing me a minor inconvenience: the bundled cable doesn't work with ComputerCraft. Is there a fix for that? I'm trying to build an awesome elevator I came up with whilst playing the Direwolf20 pack, but now that I don't have RedPower, my initial design is a tad broken...
Unfortunately I believe that is up to Dan200 to implement,

Nope, but if FMP is installed it will make his conduits multiparts.

1: shift-rightclicking a transmitter crahses with this error
2: RS transmit doesnt keep the analog state and there doesnt seem to be a place to do so
3: Project Red support would be nice
4: when the chunk is reloaded if you break redstone connected to a transmitter, the receiver stays powered till a block update
