Is there some way of disabling individual commands? In the properties files or something, I'm not sure.
It's just a little annoying having conflicting commands like 'effect' which just disable all of the command blocks that use them
Yeah, the map is pretty difficult at first, it isn't your typical parkour.
A little hint for the beginning is not to touch your mouse, just strafe the first section.
Version 1.1 Is Here!
The main change for this version is adding 'Easy Mode'.
Are the spiders too fast? Easy mode makes them slower.

I've had this map finished, just sitting in my documents for over a month now, I guess it's way past time that I actually released it. So, here it is.
Thanks for 100+ Downloads!
The texture pack seen in these screenshots is A'therys Ascended, though the map was made using the default texture pack.
About the map
This is the map Spider Chase by me, Justinator3. It's basically a single player parkour map, but instead of jumps it's more running through obstacles, with a strict time limit. If you slow down or fail then you get eaten alive by spiders. There is no combat, not puzzles, just pure action.
The map itself isn't very long, it shouldn't take more than half-an-hour to an hour to complete, depending on how good you are or if you wanted to try 'Iron Mode' (Note: Almost Impossible).
There are plenty of checkpoints around the map, and you need to reach each one three times before it counts. It can be a little difficult at first, the learning curve is quite steep and mistakes are punished mercilessly, but through a little trial and error you should be able to figure out the best path through the map. You'll probably die a lot though, just warning you.
I had the idea for this map in my head for a long time before trying to make it a reality, which was a lot harder than I had first anticipated. I first started this map as a sort of concept, just making a rough little minigame, but I liked it so much that I decided to make it into a full map, albeit a short one. Making a parkour course that both a player and a mob could traverse isn't easy, especially making it properly balanced. Hopefully though when I have time, I'll come back and extend the course a little.

IMPORTANT
This map will NOT work in 1.5+ or in Multiplayer
This is a SINGLE PLAYER map ONLY
Rules are shown in the spawn room, but essentially all you have to do is not break blocks, the redstone will handle everything from difficulty to gamemode.
You can now place dispensers (and droppers) in any orientation and use them to dispense primed TNT, afndsilfneoadsfeadfasdfinekabnidf.
I think I'm in love.
------------------------------------
I should clarify that they don't launch them out like arrows, they have no momentum and just stay next to the dispenser, and the orientation is decided like pistons rather than wood blocks.
Version 1.4 is Out!
Made the map 1.4.6 compatible, adding some new features and tweaking a couple of areas. Full changelog below

- Made the start of the jungle easier
- Fixed Lake Redstone bug
- Added Beacon
- Added Book Loot
- Changed Arrow Timings
- Made Mineshaft 2 More navigable
- Added Fireworks
- Other Misc Updates
Version 1.3 is out!
Another minor update here, this time just tweaking the jungle a little, to make it easier to find your way. Also added a secret alternate path! Full changelog below.
- Tweaked jungle blocks - changed some mossy cobble back to leaves so as not to confuse the player
- Added secret alternate path to jungle
- Changed signs on progress meter to show the location of the quests
- Made it harder to go to the second mine before the first
- Added a few more secret chests (again)
- Made Chuck's house a little nicer
- Misc little changes
Version 1.2 is Out
IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you downloaded either 1.0 or 1.1, you may not be able to complete the map unless you download this file and place it in the 'data' folder for the map (in .minecraft/saves), overwriting the original file.
If you haven't started playing the map, then just download version 1.2 and it should work just fine.
Changelog
- Fixed mapbreaking bug: Translation map should read '60 92 0', not '60 0 92'
- Added more torches and armour
- Added more hint stations and hint signs
- Added a few more secret chests
Vanilla is just fine, but if you have MCPatcher or Optifine I'd recommend A'therys Ascended.
It's a HD texture so it wont work with an unmodded client.
