posted a message on POLL: What "race" are you?
My playstyle will match dwarfy dwarven behavior the most.
I can't help but feel happy when I see how few people will act like filthy treehuggers elves.

Also, the poll lacks goblin. Steals stuff from people and kills them from behind just because.

The vignetting just needs some polishing. At night and in dark areas it's cool, but it doesn't feel right when it appears under a single floating block.

Creepers all the way. I had my whole base lighted up like a christmas tree and suddenly, in my underground farm, they came through 1x1 water holes, spawned in my completely bright house above me and like 5 creepers charged me at the same damn time.

...so, is anyone up to clean my adamantine (read: Diamond) sword after each battle with those critters?

    Contents:
    -Archer's clothing*
    -Light Militia armor*
    -Heavy Militia armor*
    -Knight's armor*

    -Blacksmith
    -Stoneworker

    -Woodworker
    -Herbalist
*These come in red, blue, green and black variants. Feel free to recolor them, though.

As you can see, I've been a bit lazy with the civilian skins. The ones working with plants look mostly the same, except for the herbalist having grey hear plus a little bag on his belt and the woodworker having an axe on his back (can't be seen...)
Same with the blacksmith and the stoneworker. The latter one just got some masonry tools (The stoneworker skin is actually mirrored. I think I did that because their pose ended up nearly the same.)

Butcherized copy and paste from my post on Evilgrims forum for his (now dead) RP server.

Or, we could just play with people we actually know. Because people you know well are less likely to screw you over.

Little private servers with polite people working together to survive the nightly onslaught of the undead. And maybe even scripts which make surviving harder for hermits and easier for a group. Because, you know, in horror movies the monster almost never goes for the whole group but the first isolated person.

I don't miss her because I really prefer the blockheads.

Actually, the concept is quite nice, but Rana? In Minecraft? Notch might as well add rounded terrain or slopes, then.

    It. Just. Does. Not. Fit.

posted a message on Lava Caverns
Looks nice. But with the gold on the other side, I'd go FFFFFUUUUUUUUU for the first few seconds before a random mob backstabs me and sends me falling into the magma. (it's underground, so it's still magma.)

I wish I'd find things like that. My generated maps are boring all the time :/

It's weird how adminium is "protecting" the lava pool...

You have broken into a peculiar chamber through the base of the mountain.

posted a message on Surviving Caves?
Usually I look for exposed coal in the cliffside, but when there's none I take the two torches from the spawnhouse and wall off the door with dirt. So I can enter caves for a little bit, and while it won't protect me from mobs, I'll see the mobs before they are right on top of me. If I do see them, I run like hell.

And...never dig the blocks beneath your feet. Never. I did it and FELL DOWN INTO THE CAVE OF DEATHLY DEATH OF DEATH.

A pitch black area where you cannot see unless you make light would be awesome. That's what I expect in a cave that has no light source or connection to the surface whatsoever.

And it reminds me of "It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue." People will be eaten by all the survival critters when those re-enter /indev/. Imagine breaching a pitch black cavern and having a dozen creepers jump you. I bet people would go OH SHI-.

It really shouldn't have crashed...It went down when we restored to backup 9935, although that surely isn't the reason for the crash.

posted a message on Minecraft running slow?
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+
    1,81 Ghz
    2,00 GB RAM
1 GB graphics card (GeForce 9800, Zotac)

I hope that helps. I had about 100 FPS on huge maps with no fog, now it's down to ~10 FPS.

I think the problems started with the new /indev/ sound base update...

I can also report that while the regular version is choppy as hell, the /indev/ seems completely fine.
