What ever happened to that beautiful naturally generated hilly terrain? Oh, that's right. Biomes hit.

If I was going to eat you, I'd need two spoonfuls of sugar.

    Because you're bitter.

´What is underground ravines suposed to mean?
    I dont really understand..

I think it means actual large lengthwise bodies of water underground as opposed to one block spillages or the pools that we've almost always had.

Eureka as a seed will spawn you in what I consider a fairly notable ocean. It's my favorite seed and you have to head to the southeast about, oh, say, a mile, to find a substantial landmass, or to the northeast about a mile or two, and you start on a little island with just one or two trees, some grass, and a lot of sand to support you.

There are about 30 posts here what sais: It's your texture pack'...

Why don't you stop posting if someone else posted already?

The new forum doesn't alert you to when posts are made while you're writing your posts, several people opened the post before any replies had been made, meandered about then posted, so it ended up with six messages saying the same thing. People came in, saw this and started making jokes.

Now the joke is dead and we've got three different people expressing displeasure on the fact that people long before them made joking posts. It was eight hours between the last joke and Shapesh1fter reviving the post to show his displeasure. It was a short little glint of a joke topic that didn't need revived or insulted.

I went into the minecraft.jar and found two files, foliagecovor.png and grasscover.png. I've modified both of them and can get them to work, but it doesn't affect birch or evergreen. Is there another file that I didn't find? The "Terrain" folder only seems to have the skin for the sun and the moon.

You're quite right, it seems to be broken.

I've been confused as to why people seem to prefer using obsidian for bomb proof housing, when there is a lovely alternative called water! I'd like to introduce you to Em0srawk's fantabulous anti-splode shack!

TNT placed just out of the reach of the water or over one of the source blocks will prove it slightly less bomb proof, and as far as I know, creepers have to be in the water for the explosion to be diluted, so you're really kind of pressing your luck.

Rolfdavid already made that. Eight of them. Learn to Google. Rolfdavid is awesome (his youtube is sirdavva or something like that).

He should google his ideas of what he wants to build before he posts them as things he wants to build, just in case anyone else has previously made them?

Rolfdavid used to be a poster here, he was very rude on a regular basis so I took to thumbing down his videos, but I had to open them to thumb them down and he didn't seem to be very instructive in showing off his designs. Given the circumstances, that was probably not a fair shake.

posted a message on Texture Pack Discussion?
I apologize if this has been covered, I had Minecraft problems and wasn't visiting for a while so I haven't been here for the whole conversion to the new set-up, and I tried searching but I haven't figured out how to search a specific forum.

Where should we discuss texture packs? As in, the development of them and them in general, I spend a lot of time working on them and it'd be nice to be able to talk about different techniques, and how people have solved problems or implemented unique features. My initial instinct would be to post a thread in the Texture Pack forum itself, but it would never compete with new releases and responses to other threads, by virtue of being usual, and general Minecraft discussion seems too general for it.

Depending on what the answer to this might be, is it possible we might see a texture pack discusison section? Perhaps as a sub-forum to the main forum?

Thanks for any and all answers, I apologize for the question.

Okay, so this update is going to suck because a few updates ago, a bug was fixed, and you heard rumors on the internet without any sort of factual source?

Thank you for letting me know.

And also, why do you call this mode "survival" when you can easily survive after building a small dirt hut? It makes no sense.

Dear god, I hate this misconception. This is the one thing that Notch did that I actually, literally hate. Survival does not imply that it is a Bear Grylls simulator, you are not surviving the treacherous outback, it was introduced into the lexicon of Minecraft as a way of communicating that hostile mobs had been introduced and dying by them was now a concern. Survival became a name in a stage in development, a secondary descriptor along the lines of Alpha, but from before he was using the traditional development terms. He could have called it Gazelle since creepers make you run like a little bunny, but he didn't. Now we're stuck with a community that each part has a 3 in 1 chance of hating the other parts, because they've got differing priorities, and one of those priorities has never even existed.

You see the realistic injuries in the game? The hunger bar? The dehydration counter? The impeccably modeled garden area of the hotel Bear Grylls is filming at this week?

I don't, not without mods, at least.
