The thing I hate is the infinite burning logs, they're hell to get up to to cut down, especially if they're branches, because even with pillaring, there is always one or two that require extra pillars just to be able to reach and the constant danger of falling is burdensome.
I would really prefer if that was fixed so it would both be a useful way of clearing land and it wouldn't be quite such a problem when it occurs on accident, especially if it is due to exposed lava or other factors beyond the player's control.

Jan 12, 2011I think it's an organ to be crafted out of music blocks, if you look at the picture, it looks like it has an L-shaped curve delineating between between the white base and the black portion. Maybe a piano? Some ol' ivory to lighten up the nights?Posted in: Survival Mode
Jan 11, 2011Okay, so you swim down and you build a dome, shaped like so or however you like, with wood but I prefer wool, it's a bit more labour-intensive, but I like it because you won't run into infinite fires.Posted in: Survival Mode
Then you gather sand and furnace it into, let's say, three or four 64 stacks of glass. You then build another dome, directly on top of the first, this one made out of glass.
Third step, you dig a hole four deep and three wide under the barest lip of the wood dome.

Introduce fire into the situation.

Jan 11, 2011All that is required for paper is cellulose, that's it. Sugarcane, as a plant, is a source of cellulose.Posted in: Survival Mode
It's dumb, it's an oddly specific name for the plant, but it works.
You can make a shovel from a rock and a stick in Minecraft, yes, that is factually accurate to real life, but it leaves out all the steps required and in between the end point, this is just the same thing.
Jan 11, 2011FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING. Y U NO CARRY BUCKET?Posted in: Survival Mode
I found a block of three Diamond ores, dug a dirt block out from overhead so I could put a torch in, lava fell on everything, including me, I died, and found the branch, filled in the whole and dug out the diamonds, which allowed more lava to flow in, and consume my life again, which allowed the diamonds to be ate by the lava.
Jan 11, 2011I was wondering if anyone else did this, I'm a rather avid solo role-player, and I normally place restrictions on my behaviors and what I can and can't do, but sometimes to spice things up, when starting a new world, I give myself an object that I try to get extensive use out of, for example, if I was inspired by Pulp Fiction, I would start a new world and give myself a watch, and try to build it into an important part of my play style, as in terms of storyline, it would be the only object I still had from life before life within the game starts.Posted in: Survival Mode
I've done this several times with compasses, and made it change my play style a few different ways (never travelling east or west, for instance, or heading a specific direction each day.
As noted, I was just rather curious if I was alone in this, and I thought others, that it hadn't occurred to, might find it fun.

and yes their real (this is an X-ray+ football fish are the fish with lights on their head)
THEY ARE VERY VIOLENT
I really actually think this a great idea, if they are a neutral mob that we're eventually or immediately given a reason to kill, then they by mere existence would solve the problem people have of the water getting dark too quickly, and we'd still have a reason to fight it.
