Oh, I realize that, and I acknowledged it, but even if ruins or a cliff decide to plop down in the middle of my base, the actual terraforming to make my base fit back in will still be that much easier because of what doesn't change. My understanding is that the biggest changes will be more extreme Alpha-like terrain, villages, and perhaps the underground elements, so the same seed should still generate mostly the same terrain so long as none of those elements happen to fall on it.
It'll be like Blackjack, but incredibly frustrating instead of ending up with me naked and running through the streets hooting.
Actually, I should see the new terrain before I say that.
