I just THINK I know how the bed would work in SMP...

It'll "log you out" [but you'll still remain on the server, you just will be invisible/invicible, unless your bed is broken], and make your Minecraft "hide" [you know how...]. When the dawn will come [when the first zombies will start to burn], the game will popup back, but with "pause" enabled [ofc it will not be stopped like in SSP, just like current pause in SMP...]

Or something...When you're sleeping you can surf on the Net, play something else, go shopping, go to eat a lunch, hack main global internet server, anything!

    Kinda strange, but MAY work...

Or...It won't do anything, like the Nether, until the eventual update mentioned in the same article comes and it changes your spawn point, without the benefit of being able to sleep.

I wish there were some way to remove threads from the 'view your posts' bit, because now this thread has become lame.

I think that can be accomplished by adding "H3xer1n" as a foe in your profile. I would presume this would be easily accomplished by going into his profile and clicking "add as a Foe" That should hide all his posts, including those you've responded to, which to quote our prestigious host will result in you knowing "nothing of value was lost" by doing so.

I apologize for the fact that this post is legitimately off-topic.

Did you forget your own post? Guiboune said
"Secret update! Oh, yes. There will be that as well." (I assume some underwater thing maybe ? because Notch recently said on his blog "I’m also half-way through finishing my Advanced Diver course. Expect more underwater content in Minecraft.")

And then you wrote below that, in your own words, as part of your own information that you are providing, not a summation of his views.

    - secret update
99% chance for new underwater content (per notch's hints)

That's not explaining anything, that is reporting something more extreme than what he already said. Stop abusing the reporting system, the moderators have important things to deal with and actual lives to live, they shouldn't have to deal with you reporting people posing logical questions and treating you halfway decent while you can't even bothered to do that.

You're not a dictator, you've got no expectation of being able to control what is posted here so long as it is on topic, and while we in return have no real expectation for you to in turn listen to logic and modify your original post so it is accurate or at least not rumors based off jokes, if you're going to pretend to care, you could at least behave civilly.

updating the OP with more links to additional info i've come across, check back in like 2 minutes peoples!

i have presented information in the OP, if you wish to dispute said info, provide something to back it up or it will be dismissed as misinformation or trolling. simple as that

anyone else who wants to be offtopic and baiting, here's your only warning: you will be reported

I already asked you how one is supposed to provide evidence of a negative, such as "Notch has not provided dozens of clues about underwater content" and you ignored that and instead repeated the precise line of childish "No Girls Allowed" that I was replying to. How should I prove that Notch has not provided more than the one joking hint I acknowledged? Shall I link to every single Twitter where he doesn't mention it? Post a link to every single Word of Notch blog post that isn't about it? What exactly do you want here? You aren't expected to provide any sort of evidence or information regarding it, but I am supposed to prove that he hasn't done it?

This is asinine, stop being a child. You may go ahead and report me, but to any sane moderator, they will see that I am being logical and decent about the whole thing, whereas you are putting your fingers in your ears and telling everyone that disagrees with you to magically create links in which Notch acknowledges without a shadow of a doubt that he will or will not be adding something. Most bewildering of all, is you aren't even holding yourself to the same standard. You have absolutely no links or citations for the information about underwater content.

You've got no links or citations at all to support including the comment about the underwater stuff, and then when someone tells you that, you say "I am not listening to you, you didn't give me any links!" How does one prove a negative like that? Where will I find a link that says Notch hasn't left a bunch of hints about underwater stuff?

He hasn't by any means, he made that one joking comment about his Advanced Diver's Course when he was halfway through his vacation and hadn't been actively involved in the development of Minecraft for over a week.

I doubt they are going to pull reefs off in a little under a week now.

If you're going to be a child, people will create another thread in which magic isn't a required element for contributing and the original poster's wishes aren't of greater importance than the accuracy of the reporting.

See, people, you have this thing called a sword.
I hear it's really effective on spiders!

I don't know who you're getting your news and advice from, but they're really high on acetaminophen, and you should get them help once they stop trying to claw out your grandmother's eyes.

Additionally, they're the only mobs that remain a persistent threat once the sun is up, most of the other mobs catch ablaze and can be easily avoided at that point, but they seem to remain aggressive until all of the other mobs have burnt to death.

I for one love this idea. Then again I'm always down for more craftables, especially ones that give you health. :Bacon:

    Why thank you :smile.gif:

After reading the progression of responses it seems pretty evident that I'm looking at a sort of standard internet pack mentality, all chiming in for what seems to them to be an easy, popular knock.

I still totally disagree with you all. It is a fine line between genius and madness, and lava based "devil's cake" stands proudly at the cusp of genius. All ye who hate be blind to my profundity. Snoogins.

Occam's Razor, dude, which is more likely? that 12-plus people randomly decided to hate your idea or that it's actually a bad, unpopular idea?

No, no, no, we've decided as a meme to hate you and your ideas. Don't worry that it actually is a bad one.

    *rolls eyes*

Such hate would be curbed if the idea was suggested by a developer.

You guys would be playing fun times in your short shots over the idea of using lava to bake a devil's cake.

There are still people that won't play because of paper coming from sugar reeds, and while they're quite extreme, there are far more numerous people that still complain endlessly about it. Nobody is above criticism, and earnestly, the developers get more than their fair share of it.

It's a bad idea, I am sorry, but it is, milk is food, milk is a food product, lava is not. However, it's one thing to have a bad idea and post it in the correct place, but you posted this in the wrong spot, and have reacted like a complete child over the rejection of it. Please, behave yourself and look around a bit more before posting in the future.

Or...It's all a misunderstanding, the original poster, dyed the sheep, forgot about it, had the strange experience, made the thread, Cole downloaded the OP's save in earnest, and had a similar experience due to the sheep still existing, mistook it for something else as the original poster did, posted it here, again in earnest, and after three days, we stumbled upon the answer.

It is my understanding that dyed sheep do not naturally de-spawn on their own, much like squid, they are a permanent fixture once created.

If Cole painted the sheep and forgot about it, why did it disappear? You stated that sheep do not despawn after being painted.

Just for the sake of clarity, my intention was to state that Duckyroannubbles dyed the sheep, since it is originally his world. As for the disappearance, I agree, that is not so easily explained, but he did have to clear several dozen blocks in order to approach it, and as his perspective shrank when he drew nearer, that gave the sheep that much more of an opportunity to disappear, it is more more believable that he lost a green sheep as night fell amongst a sheet of grass, than a secret mob that is programmed to disappear in order to confuse players.

I am not aiming to cast aspersions on anyone, this could all easily be a simple series of coincidences without anyone intentionally creating or enhancing the mystery, and there still exists the problem of the sound. However, if you consider that the programmed behavior for a sheep, without player intervention is to continually attempt to hop up and down against insurmountable obstacles, as this mob has been described as doing all along, it really does cover all the bases.

I don't get it...How does it block rain? Why are you worried about rain? Should I be worried about rain?

Really interesting design, but the fact that it requires the use of mods is a bit of a let down. Regardless, a video of it working would be lovely.

I like to do a similar thing with minecarts, if you set up a one way track from your dropping off point, then ride a cart to the ground, you can break the cart after you've hit the ground and you're ready to go again whenever you need.
