Good mod. I love the pre-1.8 days when hunger wasn't a thing. I'm one step closer to reverting the new Minecraft to the best features of the olden days.
Though, quick note, the default for the food heal factor (0.5) is a terrible default, balance wise. It's mostly because I have to kill on average 2 herds of cows to get back to full health. I know you're trying to simulate the American dietary habit, but that's taking it a bit too far.
Well why remove them if you could make 'em drop XP and maybe another drop so they would have a use because removing them is kinda stupid!
Because they're hard to hit, they have a rather annoying spawn rate, and they make the most annoying noise out of all the passive mobs in the game. On top of that, I haven't played around with the minecraft programming enough to know how to assign Xp drops.
Have you ever had an underground base surrounded by caves and all you could hear were those pesky bats? I bet you've tried everything from lighting up those caves with torches to filling them to the brim with lava. Those flying rodents won't go away! But now, your ears will never be assaulted by that stress inducing screech ever again! Why? Because of science! Our engineers have developed an automatic serum secrete on a microscopic scale that repels those bats several million miles away from you! Watch as those wannabe birds never come back! So get your can of anti-chiroptera today!
Using a potion of Night Vision, you can see the difference and relief that you will feel.
Note Before Downloading:
This mod is made to prevent bats from spawning. All existing bats will stay. Kill them off with a sword or something. The Delete Entities function in MCedit works well.
Installing is like any other mod. In case you don't know how to install, here's a guide.
Locate .minecraft in %appdata%
Open the bin folder
Open archive of the minecraft.jar using 7-zip or winwar
Copy contents of mod into the archive
Delete the META-INF folder
Start up Minecraft
If there's one thing I don't like about the new terrain, it's the endless oceans. Sure, I wouldn't mind improvements to the cave and overall terrain generation, but once you get a few kilometers away from your spawn point, all you have is endless ocean.
I built a rail over 1000 blocks long in the Nether and opened up a portal to the surface. It stuck me into an endless expanse of water that has zero practicality. My original intent was to explore areas for emerald when it first came out. Now I have a small wooden island in the middle of nowhere that's at least an hour's worth of travel time on boat to the nearest large landmass. At least I have caves under me.
I downloaded modloader from adfly and I get this error on start up:

I'll consider it. But until then, your option is to install or not install.
I'll update this sometime in the near future.
