The archway is actually my wall. It's still not done, I'm sure I'll change the entry ways and make them a bit more elaborate then they are right now. I just started the build on a new flat map last night. Let me attach a couple pictures so you can see it. Let me run out and build a wall and get a couple different ideas for a stall for you. I know my fiancee is having the same issue with building a market place. If you're looking for inspiration the only place I can think that you would get to see stalls, as silly as this is, is from the movie Aladdin.

This is from the inside of the wall. It completely circles the village as a wall / walkway.

Here's a quick little booth I threw together to hopefully give you am idea. :) Obviously you can change the building materials to ones that suit your needs.

I'm digging the wall, definitely. I actually joined this forum last night just hoping to find people posting pictures of their walls / villages so maybe I could get inspired, but haven't found many sharing actual what I would call "normal" builds. My biggest challenge when building more intricate walls is the height changes when the ground goes up/down blocks. I'm not sure if you've built all your horse things yet, but I just recently discovered since horses can't go through gates that if you build a stable, or a place you would like horse to go through you can build structure leaving a two block gap, and then on each "door frame" you can place a wooden trap door and when you have them both open, your horse can get in and out of stable. :)

Oh dear! I've had villagers do stupid things, and I've done research and studied things, but when I actually try to put it to use in a village, it never seems to work. When I had upwards of 20 villagers they would all (minus a couple) crowd into one corner in a building. Then a couple (minecraft) days later they'd be trying to squish into a smaller building. I expanded the one building, doubling it's size, and giving it back doors since I widened out the village entirely to build little stores and a mushroom hut to cut down the need of having to forage for them for enchanting. I have three villagers who have been just standing in corners of gardens for hours and hours of game play and they never move. I finally climbed fences they were against and shoved them along their way.

This was after my initial wall sizing. The village was completely redone from the usual plains set up of oak wood and cobblestone to quartz/sandstone combo to go with the greek texture pack.

After a few restarts of this wall, trying different building techniques (you can see in the first picture I was trying wood and block of quartz) and different block combinations this is finally what I settled on.

Inside view of the wall. I think it's coming along nicely. :3

Temple I've built off to the side of the city outside of the walls. Complete with horse stall for the worshipper fresh in from the village.

Inside view of the temple, the little stairs on the sides are on a redstone circuit (controlled by lever on bottom left of picture) that drops them down into the floor. I had originally put glowstone on the sticky pistons but decided to replace them with seats.

I know this isn't some huge fancy build like some of the other posts, I'm still working on small stuff and making it into larger things like artfully pimped up villages. :) Any suggestions / comments are welcome!

That's really awesome. I bought this texture pack and played it for a while, I tend to venture off of it because it's so hard to tell what is what unless I play it constantly. Great job so far!

Iron Golems are such unpredictable things. I've had over 20+ villagers in a village, and after three hours I gave up and created my own. As it stands, even with two golems, I'm down to 11 villagers. Though, partly do to zombie sieges as well as after days and days of minecraft days, I discovered a flaw in my wall and I'm sure some of my villagers jumped ship while I wasn't looking. Love the builds!
