Don't you just hate fantasy?
Fantasy is boring. It's all about a hero killing dragons or rescuing princesses. And in the end, the hero gets a big reward from some autocratic ruler, and spends the rest of his life banging said princess.
Certainly in the past these may have been difficult tasks, but today the nobility is all but abolished, and while the bad guy's magical armor may be said to able to withstand a blow from any weapon known to man, the fact is that when the mystical warlock wrought the armor from steel and fairy dust, man didn't know about C4. Boom. Dead.
It is with this in mind that I present:
Moderncraft is for people who can't take the fantasy aspect of Minecraft. It replaces many of the fantastical elements of Minecraft and replaces them with normal things that exist today. Other, more timeless things, like brick and stone, remain roughly the same.
Let's take a look:
Cobblestone? What is this, 18th century England? Who uses cobblestone for serious purposes anymore? Cobblestone has been changed to Cinderblock.
Redstone? What, you mean like rubies? Rubies don't carry a current, man. Redstone has been changed to Copper. Copper wires carry electricity. It's that simple, really.
Netherrack? What does that even mean? No one knows. Netherrack is now some kind of Red Marble. It looks nice as trim, I think.
Soul Sand: what the hell does that even mean anyway? Why do souls slow me down? Is it their spiritual baggage or something? The weight of my sins? I don't follow it. Soul Sand is now Cautionblock. Cautionblock makes you more cautious, so you slow down.
Glowstone? What kind of stone glows? It's like something out of that film about the naked blue people. Honestly. Glowstone has been changed to Fluorescents.
Wooden Ladders? And I suppose you want me to cross one of those rope-and-plank bridges that could be brought down by an overweight bumble bee, too? Wooden Ladders have been replaced by Steel Ladders.
Torches? What am I, a caveman? Ordinarily I'd suggest the more practical fluorescents, but if you need lighting in a pinch, here are Lightbulbs on Poles:
Wooden Doors? How am I supposed to find out what's outside if there's wood in my face? Wooden Doors are now Glass Doors.
Minecart Tracks? With wooden ties? This is 2010, man. You can't build with wooden ties now. Minecart track ties are now made of concrete.
Bonus: Good looking diagonals now possible. (Will be optional for people who want the tracks to curve nicely.)
Chests? Who still has big hulking chests lying around? They're expensive and difficult to transport. Why not just swipe some big old unused cardboard boxes from a southbound freight and dump things in them instead?
Alpha version of pack released, above. It doesn't have the full feature set that the full pack will have, but people seem very interested in the pack so far, so I'm giving it out.
Changes in Alpha 6:
-New ingame menus!
-Replaced tools with modern tools.
-Replaced map with "Minecraft A-Z"
-Replaced paper with continuous form paper for your dot-matrix manual-feed printers
-1.8 Support! (as soon as MinecraftCustomizer will accept 1.8 textures...)
-Support for Connected Textures Mod.
Changes in Alpha 5:
-Made two versions: one with mowed grass and one without, so that the people have a choice.
-New armor icons
-New icons for doors, signs, redstone repeaters.
Changes in Alpha 4:
-Removed Mowed Grass by popular demand.
-Added element symbols for certain items.
-Updated pack for 1.6.
Changes in Alpha 3:
-All blocks have new textures now.

The Wolfestone Mod Update 1.3.2 that you all have been waiting for is almost at release. We are looking at a late November release. I'll keep you guys posted on the update:
Wolfelandia Update! #1
Features: This mod adds a new ore with many craftables, new plants, armor, tools, and much much more! And I will continue to update this mod in the future! Look out for new liquids and possibly more ores!
Brief Block and Item Specs:
Wolfestone Ore- Only mineable with a Diamond Pickaxe, Generates at level 16 and below, it gives off a lite glow to make it easier to spot in dark caves, about as (maybe a little bit more) rare as Diamond Ore.
Wolfestone Block- Useful Wolfestone storage, Gives off as much light as Glowstone, can not be destroyed by explosions/creepers (it is as durable as obsidian).
Wolfestone Torch- Gives off as much light as glowstone (brighter than a torch), Does not give off any particles.
Wolfeshroom- Generates as commonly as a Brown Mushroom, gives off a very lite glow (barely noticeable), Used to make Wolfeshroom Caps.
Wolfe Orchid- Generatesas commonly as red flowers, gives off a very light glow(barely noticeable), Can be used to make Light Blue Dye.
Wolfestone- What you get when you mine a block of Wolfestone Ore, used in many crafting recipes in this mod.
Wolfestone Shard- A piece of Wolfestone split into 4 pieces, can be used as fuel: six times that of coal (can smelt 48 cobblestone per piece), Used to make Wolfestone Torches.
Wolfestone Tools- 1.5X more durable than Diamond Tools (2,342 Blocks), 1.25X faster than Diamond Tools.
Wolfestone Armor- One level stronger than Diamond Armor, 2X the durability of Diamond Armor.
Wolfeshroom Cap- Edible item (Healing), Heals for 2 hearts, can be fed to wolves to heal them 2 hearts, Stackable up to 4.
CookedWolfeshroom Cap- Edible item (Healing), Obtained by cooking a Wolfeshroom Cap in the furnace, Heals for 3.5 hearts, can be fed to wolves to heal them 3.5 hearts, Stackable up to 8.
Corrupt Wolfestone Ore- Only mineable with a Wolfestone Pickaxe, Generates in the Nether, Rarity is different because of the Nether.
Corrupt Wolfestone Block- Compact Corrupt Wolfestone Storage, As durable as obsidian (resistant to explosions), Gives off as much light as glowstone.
Corrupt Wolfestone- What you get when you mine Corrupt Wolfestone Ore, Used in many crafting recipes found in the latest update.
Corrupt Wolfestone Shard- A piece of Corrupt Wolfestone split into 4 pieces, Can be used as fuel: nine times that of coal (can smelt 72 cobblestone per piece), Used to make Wolfestone Torches.
Corrupt Wolfestone Tools- 3X more durable than Diamond Tools (4,684 Blocks), 1.5X faster than Diamond Tools.
Wolfestone Armor- One level stronger than Wolfestone Armor, 2X the durability of Wolfestone Armor.
Wolfestone Bow- Shoots Wolfestone Arrows, Does 4 hearts of damage, 2X the damage of a regular bow.
Wolfestone Arrow- Shot out of a Wolfestone Bow, Do 4 hearts of damage, 2X the damage of a regular arrow.
Corrupt Wolfestone Bow- Shoots Corrupt Wolfestone Arrows, Does 6 hearts of damage, 3X the damage of a regular bow, sets mobs on fire!
Corrupt Wolfestone Arrow- Shot out of a Corrupt Wolfestone Bow, Do 6 hearts of damage, 3X the damage of a regular arrow, and also sets mobs on fire!
Wolfe TNT- 4 times stronger than regular TNT, 4 times larger radius, 4 times longer fuse so you can get away, You get 4 when you craft it.
Wolfestone OreThis is Wolfestone Ore! It is a rare mineral resource that can be found at level 16 and below. Level 16 being 16 blocks above bedrock. This is the area where Diamond and Redstone can generate also. You will need a diamond pickaxe to mine this ore, so keep that in mind. Wolfestone Ore has some interesting properties, such as being able to glow! Yes, you heard right, Wolfestone Ore can glow and so can many other blocks in this mod. With that said, look at this picture below.
Well... Wolfestone Ore doesn't glow AS much as you probably hoped, but trust me it helps to see the ore in a dark cave. What? "What happens when you mine such an ore?" Well, you'll have to read on...
WolfestoneAha! This is Wolfestone. When you mine a block of Wolfestone Ore, this little guy will pop out! It is a very and I mean VERY durable resource, and to mention, it glows. These powerful characteristics will be very useful in crafting recipes. Oh, what's that you ask? "Why is it called Wolfestone when it isn't a stone at all?" Yes, don't be misguided by this gem's deceiving name, it is in fact a gem, NOT a stone. If the name bothers you THAT much, just nickname it something else, like "Shinegem," but don't say I didn't warn you, it isn't as catchy. And please pardon the picture, this Wolfestone is not in the cave where I mined it because I didn't want to you torture you with terrible dark pictures.
Wolfestone BlockWhat is this you ask? ...Well, it is none other than a Wolfestone Block! If you compact the power of nine Wolfestone pieces to such an extent, we can craft such a figure. Not only does it glow as bright as glowstone, but it is as durable as obsidian! (It's not that hard to mine though)
So basically this is a very bright and 'non-explodable', yet very costly building material. You can also use it to store your Wolfestone.
Wolfestone ShardNow, this is a Wolfestone Shard. It is what you get when you smash a piece of Wolfestone into four pieces. I don't know who would do such a thing, but it is quite a useful thing to have around. To begin with, you can use it to smelt objects! Like coal, except this had the smelting capability three times that of coal! So this little guy can smelt 24 pieces of cobblestone!
And that is only the beginning. Look further at this next picture:
What you see above is a Wolfestone Torch. It is basically a Wolfestone Shard compacted and attached to a stick. Because the shard is so compact, this torch is given the capability of being as light as glowstone, or a Wolfestone Block (which is brighter than a torch, by the way)! Since this torch is made from a Wolfestone Shard, it does not produce any particles like a regular torch does, so I would consider it very Eco-friendly
WolfeshroomThese little guys are called Wolfeshrooms. The pop up all over the place from time-to-time. Now they also generate in the Nether! They're pretty cool. Besides becoming an edible item, they also, you guessed it, glow! But they don't glow very brightly, so you might not notice them glowing at all. But trust me, they're glowin' all right! They are about as common as brown mushrooms. With them, you can rip that sturdy and tasteless stem off, to reveal the nice, soft, mushy and succulent cap.
While this doesn't look like much, you can pop one in your mouth and eat it. I hear you asking, "Why would I do that?" Because they will heal 2 hearts! And also, sorry again about the picture, I had some of these lying around so I decided to lay them out on the sand to get a nice, bright picture. By the way, if you have some pet wolves, you can give it to them as a treat to heal them 2 hearts as well. These are stackable up to 4, since they are pretty big and take up some space. And if you aren't so hot about eating these things raw, pop 'em in the furnace to cook them up.
I know, by know you are definitely saying "Ewww! What is that atrocity? And why would I dare put that dreadful thing in my mouth?" Well, because when you cook a Wolfeshroom Cap, it releases all of the rich proteins and complex carbohydrates to not only make it taste better, but also make it heal for 3.5 hearts! As it doesn't look like much on the outside, trust me, it sure is a blast on the inside! If you don't try one of these, then you don't know what you're missing out on. And like the Raw Wolfeshroom Cap, you can give one of these tasty buggers to one of your wolves and they will delightfully eat it and it will heal them for 3.5 hearts. They are stackable up to 8 because once cooked, they are drier and take up less space.
Wolfe Orchid These beautiful flowers are known as Wolfe Orchid, they were recently found on the the island of Gargamel, and brought to lands near you. The problem is, they are an invasive species and are growing rapidly everywhere because it is not their native territory, but what can ya' do? Anyways, if you take one of these beauties to a crafting table, you can squeeze out its innards and mix them into a nice-looking, light blue dye!
Wolfestone Armor This is Wolfestone Armor. But only partially what all of the hype was all about. Not only does this equip you with fancy new clothes to go running around your minecraft world in, but they also protect you even better than Diamond Armor! Yes, you heard right, this set of fancy clothes is a step up from the infamous set of Diamond Armor. So don't worry about jumping off steep cliffs or into lava, well... I mean DO worry about that, because you will probably die, but the armor will still be okay! It's THAT durable! The next few pictures show off what you could be wearing very soon, if you install this mod, today!
A picture from the back. And please don't notice my terribly sunburned neck and arms, it was an awfully sunny day out, and it just slipped my mind to put on sunscreen!
And I nice picture from the front. And this might get a little sickening for the kids, please don't pay any attention to my face. By the end of the day, the sun got so bad, that, well... half of my face came right off! Don't mind that though, I am now in the hospital getting it stitched right back on. Which explains why I have so much time to write this post. But no worry, the new and fully upgraded version of this armor which is included in the mod has a fully functional cooling and sunscreen releasing system, so you don't get too hot, or too sunburnt for that matter.
These shiny beauties are mostly what all of the hype was all about! Once you get your hands on one of these tools, you'll never switch back to "diamond" tools, in fact, what are diamond tools anyway?! These works of art practically do the work for you! The have a durability of 1.5X Diamond Tools. So they can break 2,342 blocks without breaking a sweat! If tools could sweat anyways... Not to mention that these tools are faster than Diamond Tools, 1.25X faster, in fact! If that seems like a small percentage to you, I assure you, you WILL see a difference. And again, sorry for the picture not coming out that good, the angle that I was shooting it at with my camera didn't allow me to fully encompass the tools on the edges of the picture. I do apologize.
Corrupt Wolfestone Ore
This new ore Generates in the Nether! It is even more powerful than Wolfestone! It requires at least a Wolfestone Pickaxe to mine it. It gives off a glow. It's rarity is difficult to describe because it generates in the Nether, but I assure you, it is quite difficult to find. Most of the time you will find it in the most precarious of places.
That is Corrupt Wolfestone. It is like the evil counterpart of regular Wolfestone. You get one of these after mining a block of Corrupt Wolfestone Ore. They are very powerful, even more powerful than Wolfestone!
Corrupt Wolfestone Block
That up there is what happens when you combine nine pieces of Corrupt Wolfestone. It is incredible durable (to Creepers and TNT) and gives of an extremely powerful glow! The equivalent of Glowstone.
Corrupt Wolfestone Shard
That is what happens when you split a piece of Corrupt Wolfestone into four pieces. It is a pretty nifty resource, and can be used to smelt items!
[Picture of Smelting Pending]
It can smelt items nine times of what coal can! That is 72 blocks (or items)!
Corrupt Wolfestone Armor
That is Corrupt Wolfestone Armor, it is 2X more durable than Wolfestone Armor!
That is view from the back!
And one from the front! I'm not going to apologize about my terrible sunburn this time, because it almost blends in with the color of the armor.
Corrupt Wolfestone Tools
That is a set of Corrupt Wolfestone Tools. They are 3X more durable than Diamond Tools (4684 Blocks). And they are faster than Diamond Tools exactly 1.5X faster! That is even faster than Gold Tools!
Wolfestone Bow and Arrow
That is a Wolfestone Bow. It shoots Wolfestone Arrows...
If you couldn't guess, that is a Wolfestone Arrow! It does 2X the damage of a regular arrow, which is 4 hearts! It can only be shot out of a Wolfestone Bow.
Corrupt Wolfestone Bow and Arrow
That is a Corrupt Wolfestone Bow, it is more powerful than a Wolfestone Bow. It shoots Corrupt Wolfestone Arrows.
That is a Corrupt Wolfestone Arrow. It really packs a punch! It does a base damage of 6 hearts, and on top of that, it sets any mob you hit with it, on fire! It does not light other objects of fire though, if you hit a tree with one of these arrows or maybe your precious wooden house, don't worry. It won't burst up in flames. I've tried it.
That up there is Wolfe TNT, and this guy means business. 4X stronger than regular TNT, it is basically a lethal warhead! (Except it can't blow up half a country...) So when you light one of these bad boys up, they will, obviously, explode! If you do it with redstone or flint and steel, it doesn't matter! You get the same result that everybody is looking for, DESTRUCTION!
Now that hillside just had some serious facial re-construction! But with 4X the fuse, you'll have enough time to get away before that thing blows you to smithereens! Now be careful with this thing you can blow off a couple of fingers using it (or even a couple of limbs)! But on a serious note, please be cautious when experimenting with Wolfe TNT, it is like 4 TNTs lined up together. Line up too many of these, and your Minecraft world will have some serious lag problems!
Here are the crafting recipes for this mod. Please keep in mind that most of these recipes are shapeless, meaning that you can place the object anywhere on the crafting grid, not just the place shown in the pictures.
Light Blue Dye (from Wolfe Orchid)
Corrupt Wolfestone Block
Corrupt Wolfestone (From Corrupt Wolfestone Block)

Evil Minecraft is a mod in development that will eventually be a total conversion of Minecraft into a completely new experience for players. The features of the current build as well as the download link are located below, in spoilers. We're currently moving towards v0.7, which will be even more extensive!
If you want to talk to some of our team members, join our IRC channel! #evilminecraft on irc.esper.net. For in-browser, if you don't have an actual IRC client, click here.

Q: Where are the crafting recipes for Evil Minecraft?
A: You can find the current list of crafting recipes on our wiki, http://wiki.evil-minecraft.net. It's not a complete list, but as a part of the community, it helps us if everyone can contribute to their finds!
Q: Why do I keep getting this error?
A: If you are getting errors, it's suggested you use MCError, record the output in a text file, and report the issue on http://bugs.evil-minecraft.net but before you post another bug, please search there and you might see if someone already has your solution!
Q: How do I install Evil Minecraft?
A: The easiest way for me to share this with anyone and everyone, is http://wiki.evil-min...ki/Installation
Q: Is Evil Minecraft compatible with any other mods?
A: Currently, Evil Minecraft is incompatible with every other mod that edits a base file that we have edited. The ones that people confirm work are Risugami's Recipe Book
Q: Why can't I launch with MagicLauncher?
A: For some reason, MagicLauncher isn't installing or launching Evil Minecraft correctly which brings us to the conclusion that MagicLauncher is incompatible.
Q: Is Evil Minecraft compatible with SMP? Or is there an SMP version?
A: The answer to both of these questions is 'No.' We aren't aiming for SMP compatibility for some time so we can focus on making the features as well made as possible. Eventually we'll have an SMP version out.
Q: I have a suggestion, where can I post it?
A: Currently, we have a subreddit that you can use for suggesting things for Evil Minecraft, but you can also suggest them via the bug tracker. You can post in the thread, but there's less of a chance of us seeing that!
There currently aren't many patches for Evil Minecraft and other mods, but the list of compatible mods with links to the patches will be below.

With this update we've introduced races! Each have their own pros and cons, making a new gameplay experience with each different race. Halflings are especially different, being less than a block tall and able to fit into areas of that size(half-doors coming in the future).
New Block Breaking System
In v0.666 of EvilMinecraft, we've introduced a new main menu! From this you can access any of the other menus, including the new race system menu by clicking on your character! The background block texture also changes when you reload the game.
New Torch System
We have introduced and entirely new block break system. When you go to break a block and stop part way through, it will actually save its damage state in intervals. If you have 'fancy block renders' on in the EvilMinecraft options, it will also make this have a three-dimensional effect(along with making things such as rails and ladders and grass have new rendering as well).
Our new torch system incorporates a feature that Notch had planned to add, but ended up not adding in the end. Normal torches now have a limited lifespan, and must be lit using a lighter. All old normal torches are automatically converted to what are called 'lanterns'. Essentially, these are glowstone torches that don't run out. Along with the system itself, torches now emit light when you hold them(optional, as it hasn't been fully optimized yet).
Blood! Need I say more? When the player or a mob takes damage, they shoot off little blood particles, and blood stains the ground for a short time. If in water, the blood will dissipate to surrounding water blocks, slowly making the blood fade.
New Decorative 'Blocks'
As a small addition, we've added something people have been asking to be added to Minecraft for quite a while - display cases.
Locked Chests
The mod features a wide arrangement of new 'decorative' blocks, such as walls and chairs.
Coin system
Chests can now be locked using a key! This is quite useless at the moment, but in v0.7 it will help protect against various things such as halfling thieves that will try to steal from your precious chests.
Improved Jungles
A fairly 'traditional' coin system has been added. Mobs now drop coins of different values(copper, silver, gold, platinum). In v0.7, this will be used in a trading system!
Slime Blocks
Having been working on jungles before Mojang, we take jungles very seriously! We made them feel more like true jungles, not a very 'safe' place. Dinosaurs, spiders, and more now lurk waiting to simply kill you.
There are now two types of slime 'blocks'. One is the full block - it's bouncy. The second is a thin layer that slows you down, which is left wherever slimes go.
New Nether & End Content
The Nether and The End have both seen a fair deal of new content - ranging from black holes and ender creepers to firestone ore and evil wizard zombie pigmen.
New Armor / Tools / Weapons
Fire now leaves ashes!
There are various new kinds of tools and armor - ranging from ender dragon scale to bone. As well, there are now 'hammers' that are used for 'harvesting' walls and repairing a block's damage state.
Creative Mode 'Potion Container
A fairly simple addition - a potion container menu for creative. Default key is 'P'.
New Snow Biome Content
Snow biomes have received a fair deal of content in v0.666. Ranging from thin/cracked ice to icicles in trees to igloos to the 'zero' mob, there's a lot of new content to discover in the tundra/taiga biomes.
Spawning throughout the world, graveyards now spawn. At night, these turn into very hostile places with many zombies spawning. Each of them has four pillars, on top of which rests a pot of chance. What do they hold? Is it good? Is it bad? That's for you to find out.
Mud & Quicksand!
Mud and quicksand now spawn in various places in the world(also as shown, there are mummies). If you get caught in quicksand, it's very dangerous as you can easily suffocate unless you get out. Mud slows you down.
Food is a very important thing. With the addition of new food drops(mutton, steaks, etc.), along with sandwiches, chocolate cake and more, you now have a much larger variety of things to satisfy your hunger meter!
Options for some features
We've included an 'Evil Minecraft' section of the options, in which you can turn some of the features on and off. In the future, this will be expanded to be many, many of the features.
Along with various other new mobs, items, blocks, systems, worldgen features, and more!
Our next update, v0.7, will be released when it's ready. It will feature a plethora of new water content(improved swimming, deeper and more 'living' oceans, possibly a playable mermaid race even!), a new dimension, a new inventory system, and much more!
Now, you may be asking the question 'Who's making this all?' to yourself? Below is our team member list. You may not see work from someone on our team for a while, due to the fact that many of them have their own things to deal with(this project's being worked on in everyone's free time!) and some things that people are working on take a while before being able to be shown. If you wish to join the team, e-mail , we need many different skillsets!

We will not be allowing this mod into modpacks, for one main reason: Compatibility. Our team's focus isn't to make things compatible with other mods, it is to create a total conversion. We would rather spend time developing new features than making it work with other mods. To add on to that, this means that you can't distribute it in any way, shape, or form without authorization. If you are making some kind of 'update', 'patch', or any kind of file that provides a modification to our mod(for instance, a patch making it compatible with another mod), please contact us first before you release such a thing. Modloader has been packed in with the mod, with permission from Risugami.

Jan 20, 2011Kirb posted a message on [MOD][WIP] The Artifacts Mod, a goal for MinecraftIMPORTANT UPDATE November 20thPosted in: WIP Mods
An Artifact Mod Features alpha is now available.
It installs one of the new features of the Artifacts Mod: shields.
I do not check this thread very often at all, but I do check the Tumblr quite often. So check there if you have questions.
Official Tumblr for the mod:
IRC: #artifactmod on espernet.
We'll be adding little progress updates on the blog.
I might come back to this thread on occasion to answer a question or two, but mostly I will be focusing on the mod. I've made a few big key changes over the past few months, including one that I'm very happy about that gives me even more freedom to create more epic Temples to house Artifact Armor.
You may be pleased to see that I have updated the design document image, to include all of the features I had designed before Choam left.
Caveats to keep in mind:
-This is a very old thread, back in january when I posted my original image. The mod is significantly different, so if you really, really want to read the thread, I would just read the last 20 pages or so.
Artifact Orbs are now known as Keystones. This is to prevent confusion between the orbs and the armor/tools.
-Just to clarify, this mod is definitely not going to be released before 1.8, as it would be silly to code aspects and features that Notch is already putting in the game. (NPCs, new mob properties, combat changes, etc)
Release time is when it's done, but I'd like to shoot for around when Minecraft officially releases.
-Thieves have a very low spawn chance, 2% max, and you can easily get back any stolen Keystones by killing the next one you see.
-Once inside a Temple, you will be restricted from placing blocks or items, unless a specific one is specified in that particular temple. Temples exist within their own dimension.
-Keystones and Artifact-related items are indestructible in one way or another. They will always be recoverable.
-Currently, if you accidentally destroy your artifact items, they will respawn in the Labyrinths where you found them. If you die while in a Labyrinth, you will respawn with them still in your inventory.
-In case you're wondering, the White Labyrinth can use any combination of the colors, minus black, as white is a combination of all primary colors.
-The White Labyrinth is not the final Labyrinth. There are 6 regular labyrinths, and one final labyrinth.
-This mod is for single player only, for the time being.
-The Divining Stone pulses faster the closer you are to the artifact.
-You can convert Keystones from one color to another using Orichalcum.
-You won't be able to turn thieves off.
-It says right on the image, but Artifacts only spawn within a reasonable (but large) radius around your initial spawn point.
-The image didn't have to be this big, but I did it anyway.
-There are several undisclosed details and features that weren't in the preview, because we are coding them and don't want to promise something and then end up not doing it.

More Things To Come!
Oct 14, 2011New Thread as Nico has left ive put the thread on my account!!!Posted in: WIP Mods
and Updated to 1.1
';">Mirrors, compatibility patches, and older versions:
Welcome to the new More Ores thread! a lot has changed since More Ores was last updated... some blocks have been removed, lots of items have been added, some items have been given uses, some blocks that didn't previously have any uses now do, and more! For a complete changelog click HERE.
Please join me in welcoming Formulayeti to the More Ores team! **applause** Formulayeti is now helping me code More Ores along with bug-fixing and will be helping me to format this thread! (this is why we are using a shared account as neither of us knows how to share authorship in a thread)
The More Ores team now consists of Formulayeti [coding/thread] (youtube: http://bit.ly/uWnlCO), VGFreak97 [all item textures that aren't recolors], Xx_ChickenNinja_xX[block textures] (youtube: http://bit.ly/v027aa), and myself: Nicaetinismo (coding/thread/creator/general)
If you like the mod, please click the little green plus sign at the bottom of this post!
The default textures for the ores have been changed from how they appear here! please thank Xx_ChickenNinja_xX for the new textures!
as those of you who have been using More Ores for a long time can see, several of the ores have been removed
all of the gem blocks are still there, same with the combo blocks (see the crafting guide for recipes)
the nuke will be re-added later
PLEASE refrain from suggesting new ores/gems to add until More Ores is out of WIP stage (1.0+)
all credit for the item sprites goes to VGFreak97 (except for the ones that are obvious recolors :tongue.gif:)
PLEASE NOTE: this does not include ALL the items (that would take up WAY too much space as there are currently about 100 items in this mod), the items that are displayed here are either unique (in the case of the gems/ore etc), or have other forms (i.e. the crowns and staves)
~~More will be added later!~~
Feel free to suggest new Items/uses for ores/gems

More Ores is now installed just like any other mod, just take everything thats in the download and put it in minecraft.jar... simple!
How to install More Ores (client)
once you've installed More Ores and run the game at least once, you can change the block ids and item ids (if you have any conflicts) by going to your minecraft folder and from there going to /mods/MoreOres/MoreOresIDs.txt (dont ever change the number after the "!" !!!)
if you get a blackscreen, you probably didn't delete the META-INF folder, if you did, or are getting a crash from something else, download one of these debuggers:
just download it and put it anywhere, then run it, this will allow you to see what error youre getting, once you get minecraft to crash (or to blackscreen), post the error on here in "code" tags
download this, unzip it and put it in your bin folder (in your minecraft folder), then open terminal and type this into it:
cd ~/library/application\ support/minecraft/bin ./mc.sh
this will give you the error, post it on here with code tags!
Installing More Ores on a server is pretty easy, just take all the stuff in the download and put them in minecraft_server.jar just like you would in minecraft.jar for the client (make sure ModLoaderMP and MinecraftForge are installed first!)
How to install More Ores (server)
If you want to change the spawn options for the blocks, youll have to run the server at least once, then you can change the spawn options by going to the folder where your server files are, then go to /MoreOres/MoreOresSpawnProps.txt and change them!
post any bug reports here on this thread! (in code tags)Previous changelog:
Heres a simple crafting guide that should show you how to make most of the stuff that you shouldnt already know how to make!
What happened in v0.7.1???
**Added the nuke back in!**
More Ores used to have a nuke, but it was removed due to bugs. Now its back! Warning: if you can see it when it goes off, youre probably dead
continual tweaking will be happening on the nuke to make it as nuke-ish as possible, suggest what youd like to see!
craft a nuke using 4 blocks of tnt 4 blocks of volatile matter and 1 block of unstable uranium! (its a shaped recipe, you can figure it out!)
**Added the Nuclear Reactor!**
The reacto can smelt 4 different things at a time, into two different results each, it can smelt anything the base furnace can, along with the stuff from this mod that you would normally smelt in a furnace, make a reactor using 8 ingots of iron around a piece of refined uranium, the reactor uses up to 3 bars of refined uranium for fuel
for modders: to add recipes to the reactor, use MOUtils (the first parameters are always for the input)
**A few of the ores have been tweaked!**
Titanium and Silver have been moved into the metadata blocks (they still need to be smelted in the furnace to get the bar)
Nether Gold and Netherite now need to be smelted in a furnace to get the bar
because the ids have changed, this might cause some bugs in any worlds that youve been playing on with more ores, to avoid any bugs, START A NEW WORLD, otherwise you will have some blocks (spawned) that shouldnt have been spawned
because titanium and silver were "removed" the ids have changed a bit, which brings us to the next change:
**MOID got a new feature!**
MOID was tweaked to allow for removing blocks, but dont worry! this is done automatically!
as a bonus, MOID will automatically put any new blocks where youve changed any block ids to (i.e. if you had to change the block ids to 210 range, MOID will add any new blocks in that same range) so you shouldnt have to go change the ids of the new blocks!
**Fixed mining requirements for the ores!**
weak ores like tin and copper can now be harvested with stone pickaxes, and other blocks require other pickaxes! (go find out what they need!)
**New default block textures!**
all the ores now look like they belong in default minecraft (hopefully)
unrefined uranium finally got its own texture
the combo gem blocks have been changed to blend better
please thank Xx_ChickenNinja_xX for the new block textures! (except for the combo gem blocks, Nicaetinismo made those!)
Thank you all for the over 1600 downloads of v0.7!

Jun 10, 2011axistenfold2121 posted a message on WarZone [Hardcore PVP] [Factions] [MCMMO] [RP] [Magic] [Elves][Rogues][Mercs] [Humans] [60 Slots] [!No Whitelist!]
I remember the old days...when I would visit the elven village to shop for wood, or when I would go to the goblin base, and sit on the long oak pier, fishing for hours, hoping to catch the biggest fish my fellow humans have ever seen. I remember taking you to the rogue base, when you were just a youngster...and watching you marvel at the seemingly endless pool of lava surrounding their city.
But that is all gone now...an old man like me can't even take two steps outside of his own house before he's smacked with a diamond sword, by some good-for-nothin' hooligan, after his wooden shovel.
This all started about a decade ago, during a huge meeting between the leaders of each faction. They decided to meet up and have a discussion about the peace treaties that they had written up about a century ago. It was about to expire, and they wanted to write up new ones. However, they couldn't seem to agree on the terms. In the original treaty, one of the terms were that you could not marry a member of a different faction. The goblin leader wanted to change this rule (and I don't blame him, have you seen those goblin women?). The other factions disagreed, and voted to keep the rule in effect. The goblin leader was upset, but he got over it.
The next disagreement followed shortly after, when the Rogues wanted to remove the rule about stealing. "If they're too lazy to hide their chests, why can't we take from 'em?" But the other factions disagreed.
Nearly every term of the treaty was disagreed upon by one of the factions, and soon things began to get violent. The goblin leader drew his sword on the human leader, because he was talking and the human leader cut him off mid-sentence. The human leader took out his axe, and begun attacking the goblin leader. The elven leader and the rogue leader soon joined in, and the peace meeting turned into the most violent affair to take place in preceeding 90 years.
When the battle finally settled down, the faction leaders declared war upon one another. At first it wasn't too bad. There would be occasional raids and such, but nothing we couldn't handle. Afterall, there had been peace for the last 90 years. No one was really trained in battle.
However this soon changed, when the elves sent hundreds of skilled archers to the rogue base, and rained arrows down upon their city. The rogues retaliated by training whole batallions of swordsmen, and attacking the elves, then raiding the goblin base; stealing a large portion of their valuable items. Each faction trained its warriors, sometimes working them so hard they died of exhaustion.
Now that each faction has trained warriors, the battles are fierce, and raids are deadly. A group of powerful warriors, calling themselves the Mercenaries recently joined the battle, and simply go around killing everyone they encounter.
Now you're about the age that they start training. You will soon be sent off to battle for your faction. You're destined for great things...I can tell. Good luck
Some Useful things to know
When you first spawn into the Warzone you will be in a church where many fighters sort refuge. There will be a simple choice to make. Infront of you there are 5 signs. One with Mercenary or Human or Rogue or Dwarf and a elf. You must choose what faction you want to join to fight the evil of the world. The factions are primarily the same except the people in them and the bases in which they live.Read more about the factions in the factions section.
After you have chosen your desired faction type /spawn and you will be spawned at your base. You can use /spawn at anytime except in battle and it will return you to your factions base.If you want to know whos on you can type /who or /list.This will list all the online players.Ask around to see who is in your faction to get help from a faction member.
One way to become better at things on the server is with a plugin called McMmo.This is a RPG plugin. You can rank up your skills to become better at them and unlock special abilities.Type /skills to check your current skill level. If you want more information on a skill you can type /[skillname]. Replace [skillname] with the skill you want info on. e.g /mining to get info on your mining level and what you can do at that level.
You may be wondering what else there is to do on the server. Another thing is the ranking system. The ranks are simple. The higher rank you are the bigger plot you get and the better kit you have. You can also get special perls for some ranks.Ranks cost ingame money.Rank 1 costs $500 and gets you a 8x8 plot and a basic kit the other ranks are:
Rank 2: $2000 -10x10-
Rank 3: $10000 -12x12-
Rank 4: $15000 -14x14-
Rank 5: $20000 -16x16-
Rank 6: $25000 5 Pumpkins, 40 lapis and 6 Slimeballs -20x20-
There is also magic on the server. At the start a lot of the magic will be unavalible but you can get it in ranks or buy it from the magic shop. There is also hidden spells in Quest Tombs hidden throughout the world. The magic is very powerful and useful and may give you the edge over your opponent in battle.Type /cast list to see what spells you are able to cast. Then type /cast [spellname] to cast it.This also uses mana. Mana slowly regenerates or you can use lapis to speed up the process.
Ever wanted someone killed? Ingame ofcourse. On the server you can put bountys on people for money. If you want to be a hitman you can accept these bounties and then track them down and kill them.Once you kill them you will receive a payout from what the issuer of the bounty paid for it.Type /bounty new [target] [value] to issue a hit. Then someone can type /bounty accept.
If you are naughty you wont be sent to jail.Instead a POW Camp.In this prisoner of war camp you are forced to work to escape. This is only for the missbehaviours ofcourse.Depending on the crime you will be told how much cobblestone you have to mine to escape. You are fed a meal each day and cant do anything except chat. This will test the hardcore players from the not so hardcore players
Do you want to join the fight?
You can enlist here and receive info on the server and get on the whitelist incase we ever decide to put one up. Additionally for your time you will receive a special prize each day when you post on the thread "Im enlisted".The prize can range from diamonds to weapons or even magic.Copy and fill out this app to enlist
