Apr 25, 2011This is honestly the best first post anyone's ever made on these forums. I wish people would stop linking twitter in every thread though. This is a forum to discuss and show off things you've built or done, and these are some great pics. Nice work.Posted in: Survival Mode
Feb 3, 2011My first ever save, I hollowed out a mountain to live in. I had windows in the sides of it and balconies at different levels, but that wasn't the weird part.Posted in: Survival Mode
On the first night, I made a glass hut floating just above the mountain.
I wish I still had that save :[

All you have to do is go to Minecraft.net and log in, then press Play in Browser.
You're not actually playing it online, you're just registering that you actually did buy an account.
Once you do that, then you can play it offline on your computer any time you want.

When you find one you like, download it.
Then start up minecraft, and click "Mods and Texture packs"
Then click "open texture pack folder"
Now simply drag the .ZIP file you downloaded into the folder that you just opened.
Now you can switch to it anytime from the Mods and Texture Packs button.
Feb 2, 2011I just use my own custom glass texture.Posted in: Survival Mode
I like the original textures, so I only changed the glass one. All you have to do is open the terrain file in a program that supports transparency (photoshop, GIMP, etc.) and get rid of the lines. Easy.
Jan 24, 2011I know exactly how you feel. I always find myself creating a new world, nearly every day.Posted in: Survival Mode
I suggest trying to play the game differently. Instead of starting a new world and doing what you always do (I assume collecting wood and trying to make a shelter), try something different.
Maybe you could set yourself little challenges, such as "I must build a glass house before the first night"
Or try planning a megaproject, like building a massive castle or something, which might help you stay focused on one world.
but as far as textures go, I just use the default with betterlight/bettergrass.

There is the sexist comment I was waiting for.
Actually, its a funny story:
I was playing Monster Hunter Tri, and when one of my teammates found out I was a girl. He told me to "get back in the kitchen." Fine, I'll just stay in camp and cook meat. About 15 minutes later, 2 of our teammates have fainted (you are allowed 3 per quest), and the guy starts yelling "WHY DON'T YOU HELP US, YOU *****?" "Because I am a weak little girl, silly! My only skills are cooking!"
At this point, he is absolutely pissed. He attacks me while I try to cook, so I tell him I'd help. About 20 seconds later, my bombing attempt blew up in my face...on accident.
That's pretty funny actually :tongue.gif:
By the way, diamonds for a fellow Monster Hunter fan.
