When minecraft installs, it installs every version of jar. Over time, you cut off some versions, so it doesn't take forever to install. No, it wouldn't be useless, some people want to use older versions. It gives people a Choice.

Anyway, I have already have 60% CPU usage using skype, steam, minecraft, and chrome at the same time. Yes, I do have a AMD 6-Core.
Also, I cant have minecraft sounds, skype,and steam running , I can't hear all of them at the same time.

EXCEPT, This couldn't be like books... Unless the server has about 3 - 6 or more ram, this item couldn't be allowed. All of the songs from clients HAS to be sent to the server, taking up space.(Unless this is non-multiplayer) Each song is about 8-10 MB, So, each client allows 4 songs to be held in minecraft. 4x8=32 MB each User. For big servers, EX: 100 Players. 100x32 = 3,200 About 3 GB Of Ram. Now only allow 1 song, 1 x 8 = 8 x100 = 800 MB, this can run on 2 Ram servers, only allowing 1 song.
