I'm having issues with crashing when BF is present, rendering leaves. There appear to be issues parsing leaf images from the Soartex Invictus Universal Modpack as well.
The below crash log is when MC was open for ~2 seconds. Load MC, load a world, save & quit, exit. I tried to remove the CFG files as well, seeing as I jumped from a really old version to the latest.
I just tested version 1.0.4 - 1.0.7, and it works fine (same problems loading textues from spoiler above). Working my way down to figure out which one throws the zillions of errors and crashes MC.
The problem starts with 1.0.8+, must be the metadata tagging?
Resolution:
Took off the resource pack, and it stops the problem. I'll have to figure out the texture issues with the leaves in the spoiler to fix it I think.
I'm going to try the John Smith Remix, maybe even the un-modded Soartex Invictus.
Hi when using 1448 Forge with SEUS and some modpacks, it seems to have a lot of weird translucentness, especially with my weapons and machines from mods.
Yeah, typical issue with AMD cards and enchanted items. Roll back to 14.12 or 14.9.
Had the same issue. It's not driver related issue. It solved itself by installing optifine with integrated shadersmod support. Install optifine f2 and use it's profile. Do not reinstall/install shadersmod after you install optifine f2.
You are talking about MC 1.8.8 (using the Optifine combined with ShadersMod release that sp614x has updated), which is great if people don't mind running non-forge.
If you want to stay on Forge and MC 1.8.0, you will need to wait for sp614x to release a new combined ShadersMod/Optifine with the backported fixes.
In the end, it is a driver-related issue, and not the first one that AMD has introduced with new driver revisions. Only with AMD .... Intel occasionally drops all functionality (crashes) but hardly is there issues like this. Best bet, run AMD 14.9 or 15.7.1 (some have reported 15.7.1 works).
Is there any other Optifine version that works with shaders other than D5? When I use that one everything on my Minecraft menu is white, I mean all the text and buttons. I can't tell what is what so it is impossible to play, and I need Optifine, but I don't like Minecraft without shaders so I can't really choose either one. I tried B4 and B6, but those both crashed right when I opened MC.
You have 2 options:
Either run D2, turn off Fast Render and Natural Textures in the OF Settings, switch back to D5 (THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN THE 1ST POST AND SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THIS FORUM -- ALMOST EVERY PAGE!)
Stick with D5, go to %appdata%\.minecraft, edit optionsof.txt, manually turn Fast Render & Natural Textures to FALSE.
Ok I figured out this crashing in 1.7.10 has to do with the Shaders mod itself, I just tried running it without Optifine installed, here is the crash report

Yeah, use the recommended Forge for 1.7.10.
The latest forge introduced a bug that crashes ShadersMod.
In which case, as I've mentioned somewhere before, you need to install Java 64 bit. Because you only installed 32 bit one and you're running into RAM issues because of that.
I wouldn't be surprised if your previous working setup had 64 bit Java.
Good news for you!
If you were running the official msi launcher, it would have taken care of this for you as well...
java.com may not get the 64-bit installer for you, you'd have to be using a 64-bit browser, probably what got you into this mess.
Theoretically, yes. Practically ... depends on the system. And how much free RAM is available at the moment.
Anything above 1.2GB is random.
Still. the biggest issue here is Java. Because that is manually installed one. And if s/he used the browser Java install app, then it likely grabbed only 32 bit JRE (based on browser settings), even if that is 64 bit Windows.
Yeah, he's running a 32bit OS though, he can only use 32bit Java. It is a wee bit old:

Operating System: Windows 8.1 (x86) version 6.3
Java Version: 1.8.0_51, Oracle Corporation
Java VM Version: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (mixed mode), Oracle Corporation
The most he can do is to change his JVM Arguments to 1.5GB (if he has 4GB of ram in his system), or reinstall Windows using 64-Bit discs. He'll have to download drivers from the MFG, etc etc etc.
Last. That's why certain programs/system settigns that append additional arguments can really mess up the game.
Ahh, yes, I quite remember the stupid System Environment Variable that forced 512MB allocation. I can't remember what program installed that variable, or if it was a specific PC Manufacturer....
I've been having some problems with the shaders since I changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10. If I try to run the shaders and my resource pack together, it crashes, here is the crash report:

I hope you guys might help me. Could the problem be solved by going back to Windows 7? Or is it just something else? Btw I use this shaders mod, SEUS Shaderpack and FlowsHD Texture pack. If you need any more info, just tell me.
This "problem" can be easily diagnosed by just reading the report.
You already are running 1GB RAM with 32 bit Java. Which means, assuming you're not deliberately using Java 32 on a 64 bit system, there's no real fix for you.
You could install 64 bit Windows (if you have RAM to spare to bother) or upgrade your hardware. Or just plain cut RAM usage by lowering rendering distance/resolution or getting rid of the texture pack.
It could possibly have something to do with some difference in RAM usage between Win 7 and Win 10, but that's going into totally random speculation.
He can assign up to 1.5GB of ram in Win/Java 32-bit, which would be do-able, if he is running 4GB in his system.
His flags are messed too .... he may only be using 512MB.
Ok. So I have tried everything in the book to get Shaders to work on my macbook.
Here's my error report:

We know intel's PR and driver nonsense though, everything's always bugged and never gets fixed (I mean that quite literally).
To be quite frank, the Intel drivers have been very stable....
Given, they had a massive block of 34XX-39XX that didn't work...
The error and cause was reported, they fixed it in 4th gen driver, and backported the fix.
When they broke 4081-4250, the bug was reported again (by myself and Sildur actually ;), they fixed it in the Win10 release, and backported the fix again.
Every 2nd gen & 3rd gen driver has been good since 39XX.
All in all, the cards aren't designed to run shaders at all, but Intel has done well to produce an embedded solution that performs OK and is cost effective.. The developers are following the Intel Bug Reporting forum, and are working to fix the issues. Not always super hasty, but at least they are listening to the community.
I got away from AMD over the last couple of years.... All I know is what I read in this forum :P.
As for reporting bugs to AMD, has anyone looked it up, or tried to submit a bug report?

Soartex Invictus Universal Modpack
Problem:
I'm having issues with crashing when BF is present, rendering leaves. There appear to be issues parsing leaf images from the Soartex Invictus Universal Modpack as well.
The below crash log is when MC was open for ~2 seconds. Load MC, load a world, save & quit, exit. I tried to remove the CFG files as well, seeing as I jumped from a really old version to the latest.

Temporary Solution:
After removing BetterFoliage :(, it is fine, and does not throw any errors:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14381275/bf-1710-removed-fml-client-latest.log
Notes:
I just tested version 1.0.4 - 1.0.7, and it works fine (same problems loading textues from spoiler above). Working my way down to figure out which one throws the zillions of errors and crashes MC.
The problem starts with 1.0.8+, must be the metadata tagging?
Resolution:
Took off the resource pack, and it stops the problem. I'll have to figure out the texture issues with the leaves in the spoiler to fix it I think.
I'm going to try the John Smith Remix, maybe even the un-modded Soartex Invictus.

Ok, screenies of a new world (Amplified) on some of my machines.
Here is Sildur 1.09 Lite, ChromaHills 64x, Render Distance 10, on my Intel HD 5500 Notebook..
MC 1.8.0 Forge 1512 w/ Optifine D5 & Shaders 2.4.12 & BetterFoliage 1.1.6
MC 1.8.8 Optifine w/ Shaders F3
Here is Sildur 1.09 Extreme, ChromaHills 128x, Render Distance 10, on my nVidia 780ti & AMD 6950..
MC 1.8.0 Forge 1512 w/ Optifine D5 & Shaders 2.4.12 & BetterFoliage 1.1.6
MC 1.8.8 Optifine w/ Shaders F3

Great job, Sildur!
I'll report some FPS on 1.8 Forge & 1.8.8 later tonight across AMD/nVidia/Intel systems :D!

Sildur's Basic or Vibrant Lite work very well on Intel systems.
There are a few others in the OP as well, but I quite prefer Sildur's.
0
Sounds like someone didn't read the OPTIFINE notes under the download link in the OP...
Yeah, typical issue with AMD cards and enchanted items. Roll back to 14.12 or 14.9.

Many thanks, Stryker!

Yeah, use the recommended Forge for 1.7.10.
The latest forge introduced a bug that crashes ShadersMod.

Good news for you!
If you were running the official msi launcher, it would have taken care of this for you as well...
java.com may not get the 64-bit installer for you, you'd have to be using a 64-bit browser, probably what got you into this mess.
Go here:
http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Download the offline x86 (or i586) and x64. Run each individually.

Yeah, he's running a 32bit OS though, he can only use 32bit Java. It is a wee bit old:
-- System Details --
Details:
Minecraft Version: 1.8
Operating System: Windows 8.1 (x86) version 6.3
Java Version: 1.8.0_51, Oracle Corporation
Java VM Version: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (mixed mode), Oracle Corporation
The most he can do is to change his JVM Arguments to 1.5GB (if he has 4GB of ram in his system), or reinstall Windows using 64-Bit discs. He'll have to download drivers from the MFG, etc etc etc.
Ahh, yes, I quite remember the stupid System Environment Variable that forced 512MB allocation. I can't remember what program installed that variable, or if it was a specific PC Manufacturer....
0
He can assign up to 1.5GB of ram in Win/Java 32-bit, which would be do-able, if he is running 4GB in his system.
His flags are messed too .... he may only be using 512MB.
JVM Flags: 8 total;
-XX:HeapDumpPath=MojangTricksIntelDriversForPerformance_javaw.exe_minecraft.exe.heapdump -Xmx512M -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M -Xmx1g -Xms1g
I'm not sure if Java will use the first value, the last, the smaller of the 2, or the larger of the 2.
Anyways, the 512MB can be removed, and I would bump to -Xms350m -Xmx1536m (so remove both the 1G values as well).

First thing you're doing wrong is not use spoilers.
The next thing is your forge is too new. Use the recommended for 1.7.10 (build 1450).

Someone didn't read the fine print under the download button for ShadersMod 1.8.
Look at the Optifine specific instructions, mate..
