I made this becouse i know how boring is to use world edit or mcedit to make a world flat so i hope you like it, if you want bigger worlds or diferent materials just tell me and i will make them xD!
The worlds are made of grass and stone, 64 height.
This does not mean either of our opinions are wrong, this just means I see things differently

This map needs a stamp, like Yahtzee's "like god of war but..." stamp, but different. Let's call it the "Like Skyblock Survival but..." stamp.
Similarities include:
Roughly same size starting area.
No useful blocks in starting area other than dirt and grass.
A single bedrock block, ripe for abuse.
A chest containing pretty much everything you need to complete the challenge.
The requirement of producing building blocks from thin air (or water and lava in this case) should you want to continue.
The differences are where the "But..." lies.
With all my ranting about how there was no "challenge" in the skyblock map, I've now found a similar map with even less challenge. 4-pilars.
To start with this map's glaring flaws:
The waterfall at the start:
I saw this bad boy and said "Oh look, author wants me to ride this thing down. OKEE DOKEE". I was rewarded with a chest to use, some cookies and... LOL! FORTY FREAKING LAPIS BLOCKS! Not to mention I found that I had a bedrock block for my generator's mine area and a stone block randomly placed so I can, you know, do pretty much whatever I wanted with ease.
*YAWN*
Starting chest:
OK! 2 bones, seeds, 2 watermelon seeds, 3 saplings, an apple, 12 string, one of each mushroom, 1 reed, 1 cacti, lava bucket, ice block, a saddle (?) and 2 records (?!?!). So, everything I need and then some. Gotcha.
*YAWN*
Four large (I would assume 128 meters high?) Pillars made of all kinds of blocks I can use and abuse. Oh, and one of my challenges is to deplete these pillars... Busy work, anyone? Also, one of these pillars is made of several hundred blocks of coal. Thanks for trivializing tress there, author.

In a nutshell; This map loses all sense of challenge the minute you successfully make a cobble generator. More so than it's predecessor.
Cobblestone is the key. The **** is infinite. Why is it a challenge for me to get over to that pillar when I have 18 stacks of cobble at my disposal.
When I do finally make it to that pillar, I have a smorgasbord of resources for which to play around with.
Let's not forget that this is a 1.8 map, so I hunger isn't even a factor. Are you starving? Dump your inventory into a chest and jump. Respawn with full health, hunger and hunger saturation.
I'm sorry, was this map supposed to be a challenge?
I guess my finger could always slip while bridging over to more coal, iron and diamond than I could ever hope to use in a single lifetime.

EDIT: I have played the map. This is an hour's worth of work before I decided it was just to dull to continue.
Thanks for your opinion, you're right is not much of a challenge but a map that gives you the oportunity to use your imagination, creativity, to create everything from 0. xD
Admittedly, I had my reservations at first, but this is actually turning out to be a lot of fun. May post a few videos on it before the day is done. Kudos.
Haha, me and my friend have done our first 2 nights and are almost at the dirt tower, we have fell, alot! It's so fun on multiplayer, going on youtube VERY soon! :smile.gif:
