About Me

Hi there! I'm JohnTheRipper. The name was partially inspired by the famous serial killer, Jack the Ripper, but also by the password cracker, John the Ripper. Some may know me by other usernames, but I use this one on these forums.

On the forum

I was a sectional moderator between October 2012 and February 2014, but I decided to retire due to a lack of motivation and time. It was fun, but it's time for me to move on. Due to the same lack of motivation and time, I decided to take an indefinite vacation from MCF to focus on other, more important things in my life.
