Back on an old survival server, my friend had this amazing treehouse that he and I lived in. One of its features was this two story farm that was built inside of a glass dome. The lower story had wheat, carrots, and potatoes while the upper story had sugar cane. There was also a three block high ladder that let us climb up and down between the two floors. Unfortunately, the world got reset and the server also shut down so that treehouse is gone. On a new server, I've been attempting to rebuild the treehouse and I've done a pretty good job (especially since I have no screenshots/videos of it and am basing it strictly off of memory) and my next goal is to make the farm. However, I have no clue how big to make it especially since I need to have two floors instead of just one. I know of a website that has a sphere/dome generator that will give me step by step blueprints to build a dome of any size up to thirty two blocks. I'm not sure how big it is but I know for a fact that it is an odd number. My question is what is the minimum size dome that I would need in order to have enough space for both of these floors? By size, I mean the diameter of the dome. This treehouse is meant to be for myself only so it doesn't have to be crazy big. Thanks in advance!

For the most part, I'm cool with anyone of any age playing Minecraft. As long as they're nice, follow the rules of the server, and don't go out of their way to annoy me and/or others, I don't care if they're eight, eighteen, or eighty. They're totally cool in my book. On the other hand, if they're totally rude, break a lot of rules, and constantly try to annoy others, I want nothing to do with them. Age simply is not an excuse for flat out rude behavior. If someone just isn't old or mature enough to know what's nice and what isn't, they probably aren't ready for online gaming. If someone knowingly breaks the rules, they should be punished, regardless of their age. Saying that they don't know better because they're just kids is not an excuse when the rules are clearly stated (and most of the fair servers tend to give out at least one warning before punishment so it's clear that they are aware of the rules). If you can be nice and follow the rules, I have no issues with you whatsoever. If you're going to go out of your way just to be rude, annoying, and break the rules, you deserve whatever sort of punishments you get.

I posted to this thread a while ago about an incredibly nasty player and yesterday, he struck again. Here's what happened:
I was scrolling through my servers and noticed that the server I like had three people online. Two of them were good friends of mine however, the third was a really horrible person that I had had issues with in the past. Thankfully, the two friends were moderators and the bully was not so I felt safe enough to log on. At first, all seemed normal but then he teleported to me and tried to start a problem. He started attacking me, spawning monsters to kill me, and even attacked my newly tamed pet wolf. The two staff members (who knew about our rivalry) teleported to us and saw what went down. During his attack on me, I ended up killing him and he attempted to persuade the staff members to ban me for killing him in a non-pvp area but they refused as I was in the right. He then kept spawning more and more monsters to kill me but they were dealt with by myself and the two staff members. Then, he went and killed my beloved pet wolf. Enraged, I killed him again (KARMA) and he logged off and never returned for the rest of the day. The two staff members killed off the rest of the monsters that he had spawned and fixed up any griefing that he had done (we were on a mountain but I hadn't built anything so all that he had really done was break some stone and gravel). They even gave me a new set of iron armor to replace the set that had been practically destroyed by him and the monsters. Everything seems to be all right for now and I have two people that witnessed what he did to me and can confirm that he broke a lot of rules if I were to contact the owner. I haven't done anything yet since he's friends with the two staff members but if they don't care about him, I will go to the owner so that I (along with anyone else that he might have issues with) will never have to deal with him ever again.
R.I.P. Wolfy. You will be missed. I'm so sorry that you were killed by some terrible person for no reason other than the fact that you were my wolf.

Okay. I understand. It's a shame that there's no quick switch option since that would be very useful. I doubt that there's a way to make capes and I have no idea where/how I'd get the official ones so I'll just have to deal with the dull gray elytra. The pool of water thing might be tricky depending on the area that I'm in but I guess that I'll manage. Thanks for the clarification!

I haven't played Minecraft in a bit due to lack of interest but I'm slowly getting back into it. While in creative, I tested out elytras with a friend and I found them to be a really cool feature and quickly came up with ideas surrounding them. However, I do have a few questions about them that I haven't been able to find any answers to and would appreciate clarification.
1. Is there a quicker way to switch out elytras and chestplates without going into my inventory?
I want to use elytras in combat since attacking my enemies from the air can give me a pretty nice advantage once I get used to aiming from that height but once I land on the ground, the elytras become rather useless as they don't act as armor and trying to climb up to a suitable height to use them again can be rather time consuming and might result in my own defeat under certain battle circumstances. With that in mind, is there a quick way to switch between my chestplate and my elytra or is swapping them out in my inventory menu the only way to do it?
2. Can they be customized?
Simply put, the flat gray color just doesn't do it for me. I am part of a server that allows clans and I have an idea for a clan that could have a cool use for elytras as they would fit with the theme of the clan and be great for combat. I want to see if there's a way to either dye them or maybe attach a banner to them to signify that they belong to members of my clan.
3. Is there a way to descend quicker but not risk fall damage?
Elytras are great for traveling as they can go quite a large distance while slowly descending. However, the area where I want to land is sometimes much closer than I had thought and I'm much too high up to land properly. The only way to land where I want is to enter a steeper descent but that comes with the risk of fall damage which could be deadly if not properly accounted for. Is there a quicker way to descend without risking fall damage (think using the sneak key to descend while flying in creative mode)?
That should be just about everything that I want to know. I would really appreciate it if someone could answer these questions as the elytras seem like an incredibly cool feature and I'd love to use them since they can be quite helpful. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the advice guys. A 25 block diameter dome it though I'll probably go up to 27. But thanks for answering my question.

I am working on a recreation of a house I used to live in on a server that has, sadly, shut down. Unfortunately, I've been forced to work from memory since I have no screenshots of the original house but so far I've been doing a decent job. However, I have come to an issue with the roof. Essentially the house has a large tower that is 17x17. At the top, there is a dome that goes around the whole thing and there were paths branching outwards to lead to bedrooms and things of that nature. I want to know what the minimum size would be for me to be able to build a dome without breaking apart my tower. Thanks in advance for advice.

Recently I have had no urge to play this game at all. I don't do any singleplayer and I only check multiplayer to see if any friends are online that I can chat with but other than that I very rarely actually play Minecraft at all these days. With this in mind, I have to ask: Should I just quit this game? The reason that I don't play is because I have no creativity with building anything (I have ideas but I am terrible at building so the ideas are useless despite how much I like them) and this kills any motivation I have to play this game. Seeing as I am terrible at the core purpose of Minecraft, I'm considering just giving up since there would be no purpose to continue playing. Is there anything you guys would recommend as to how to improve my building skills before I call it quits on this game or should I just give up? I appreciate any advice you could give me so thanks in advance.

Seriously? Just really? Next thing I'll hear is that someone got banned because their name wasn't Xx(insert name here)xX (I never understood the Xx thing and I probably never will).

I like this idea. Bricks have a nice texture but having them only exist in red can make it tough to incorporate them into builds sometimes. This suggestion allows for bricks to be much more useful and can give a cool touch to houses, castles, and whatever else people come up with. I feel like these bricks will be darker than wool but lighter than clay so it will really help to have that option just to add more creative potential for builds. Support.

But 9 + 10 = 19?

I like this idea. I had no clue that bread was that good but this would be just a bit more realistic without being needlessly complicated/difficult. I also like the fried eggs idea (since it gives them a much needed use) but I feel like one egg should only restore three hunger bars at most considering how easy it is to get eggs once you have a chicken farm going. Other than that, this is a pretty neat idea. Support.

This is just ridiculously overpowered. Regardless of if it's Leather, Gold, Iron, or Diamond, having indestructible armor added into the game is way too powerful unless some sort of drawback existed. It has the same cost as the regular armor yet cannot be destroyed (how we'd be able to craft this is anyone's guess since the OP didn't mention any items that needed to be used aside from the regular gold ingots) so there is no drawback to it. The new mending enchantment is incredibly powerful but it comes at a cost which prevents it from being horribly unbalanced. This armor is incredibly powerful and does not have any significant cost or drawback so it is simply too powerful. Maybe a mod of something like this would be okay but it's definitely not something that should be added into the game. No support.

I was on this fairly quiet family friendly server (I'm still on it to this day) and things were going all right. I was leveling up my swords skill at a skeleton grinder (this server had Mcmmo installed) and then someone who I used to call a friend joined. For a bit of background, this server was getting rather quiet and many players wanted to reset the server with a brand new world to hopefully bring in new players. Not liking the idea of losing my progress due to bad experiences on a previous server, I opposed the plan. Anyways, this player comes on and says #serverraid. Aside from making fun of his use of a hashtag (since I find them stupid outside of twitter), I thought nothing of it. That is until he killed me in non-pvp. I confronted him about it but he stated that since the server was dying it didn't matter what he did. I kept trying to avoid him while simultaneously trying to signal a moderator to do something. This moderator however, thought the whole situation was merely a joke and ignored it. I'm also positive that the attacking player was hacking as he was able to create pits of lava and large holes underneath me in way too short of a time. He griefed my house and spawned Withers inside of it and even tried to enlist the moderator in his goal. Eventually they both left and due to a glitch, the server got rolled back so their griefing was undone. However, this was not the end of my troubles. This server also had clans/factions and I was in a clan with both the attacking player and the moderator. I was quickly kicked out since both of them (as well as a friend of mine) were the clan leaders. Attacking player said that they had voted to kick me out but my friend was totally unaware of the vote and the moderator didn't want to talk about it so I felt that he was lying. He told me that I had to move and I replied that I would only do so when I hear that the moderator had voted to kick me out and only when I heard it from her. Since she never said anything, the attacker eventually dropped the subject though I wasn't brought back into the clan (it later disbanded anyways). But even this wasn't the end. This player kept insulting me all the time (until I found /ignore which made everything better) and wasn't punished for it (aside from being muted by the moderators who had had enough of it). I did fight back but nobody was on my side and everyone just wanted to stay out of the conflict. This event made me lose my trust in two of my friends. The attacker for being an uncivilized and unreasonable bully and the moderator for allowing it to happen. I still enjoy playing on the server but if the attacking player logs on I quickly log of unless a reliable staff member is online (most of the staff are reliable it was just this one girl who was very nice but because of such hated conflict). I haven't seen this bully in a while but from what I've heard, his track record on the server isn't exactly clean. It wasn't bad enough to warrant a permanent ban but it was definitely not what I would define as innocent. I still enjoy that server even to this day but I lost a lot of faith in people who I had thought were my friends. All of this happened because I disagreed on resetting the server. We had never argued like this before (we were actually pretty decent friends) but honestly I doubt we'll ever have a polite and friendly discussion ever again which saddens me as this player was kind of nice.

They say that merging with Twitch makes our accounts more secure but they fail to realize that, should someone hack my Twitch account, he or she would then have access to every single thing that's connected with it. So rather than a potential hacker only being able to mess with my MC Forums stuff, one can do harm to every single site that Twitch operates. This seems like such a splendid idea/ /sarcasm

This is honestly a pretty useless thing. Why do we need Twitch accounts for something that's completely irrelevant to anyone who's not a livestreamer? It just makes no sense to me to force a random merge onto us for completely arbitrary reasons.

I'm interested in these updates (specifically the new additions to The End) but I hope that the dual wield function can be toggled on and off. I can see the usage of it but I'm comfortable with single wield and I'd prefer to be able to switch back to that should dual wield be uncomfortable or confusing to use. Other than that, this seems like a cool update.
