posted a message on Can Entity Events execute slash commands?

For example, I want to execute a command when the player uses a specific item in their hand.

I know that you can just do this by having a filter in an "on_environment" object check if the player as an item in their hand and then have an event set a component group such as "variant" or "is_saddled", and then have an animation controller check for that and "query.is_using_item" and execute the command from there, but if you have multiple addons using this trick it will inevitably lead to compatibility issues.

That's why I want to check if a player is using an item by instead using an animation controller to check for "query.is_using_item", and then use a slash command to add a tag to the player, and then use a filter in an "on_environment" object to check if the player has a certain item in their hand, and then have an event execute a slash command if it's true.

Is this possible? If not, is there another workaround that won't lead to compatibility issues?

posted a message on All textures are invisible when shader pack is enabled

I've tried 4 different shader packs and all of them, when enabled, make all the textures in a world invisible. I have no idea what's causing this, as there is very little information about this online. Texture packs work fine, but shader packs do not.

I've updated my graphics drivers, so that's not the issue. When I click the check mark next to the shader pack, it brings me to a screen that tells me no errors were found in the shader pack. The only thing I could think of is maybe the shader packs are not updated to the latest version? But wouldn't the game be able to tell me that?

Has anyone else here had the same problem and found a solution?

posted a message on Can't enable cheats on a server

I I made myself an operator on my server and went to Settings>Game>Cheats and clicked "Activate Cheats", and then when the window comes up I clicked "Continue", but after that nothing happens and cheats remain off. If I click the "Activate Cheats" switch again, nothing happens.

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: I figured it out. I'm not sure if there's any way to do it in-game even if you're an operator, but I found out you can do it from the console with the command:

    changesetting allow-cheats true

EDIT 2: I also found out that using that command doesn't permanently change it, you need to go to server.properties to do that.

posted a message on Anarcho - Pure Anarchy

Like the title suggests, this server is purely anarchy. Hosted in the Eastern US, the server began on 5/25/2019 and will never be reset. Hacked clients are allowed, and the only plugin we have is for announcements.

However, creating lag machines will result in a ban because they ruin the fun for everyone else. They are such a problem that I may even create a plugin that prevents people from making them just for this server.

Our community is pretty small at the moment, but I’m hoping to find more players that are interested in barebones servers like this. Join our community here:

    And here’s our IP:

    anarcho.minecraftr.us

Once I get the money in a couple of weeks, I’m going to order some top of the line server hardware. But for now this is what the server is running on:

    • Intel Core i5 6200U (2.3 GHz, 2.8 GHz boost, 2 cores, 4 threads)
    • 8 GB DDR4 RAM
    • 500 GB 7.2k RPM hard drive

In the future, this is the hardware we’re going to have:

    • Intel Xeon E-2186G (3.8 GHz, 4.7 GHz boost, 6 cores, 12 threads)
    • 32 GB ECC DDR4 2400 MHz RAM
    • SuperMicro Motherboard
    • 4 TB 7.2k RPM hard drive

Despite our current hardware being mediocre, I have Gigabit internet so internet speed is certainly not an issue.

I truly want to allow this server to run to the best of its ability because I’ve played on countless anarchy servers, and the biggest problem by far was server performance. That’s why I wanted to make my own server, where nothing would hold my players back from the anarchy experience.

I hope to see you there!

posted a message on Good specs for a 100 slot server?

I know this question has been asked time and time again, but the server I'm planning to run is without any plugins, which I'm hoping will decrease the amount of resources the server uses. I might add an anti-cheat plugin later, but that's the only thing I'd ever add.

To those with experience running servers, how much RAM is really necessary to run a server like that, and how good of a processor do you need? I know that the oldest Minecraft server MinecraftOnline.com uses an 8 core Xeon CPU, but I've heard that although Minecraft is technically multi-threaded, it's a primarily single-threaded game, so should I go with processors with better single core performance over those that have more cores and better overall performance?

I've also heard that as the world gets bigger and more complex the RAM requirements can go up significantly. I plan on keeping the world border at the default (30 mil), so on a server with 100 players running around would 16 GB be enough to last a while, or should I stay at 32 GB?

Also, is there a performance difference between using an SSD as opposed to a Hard Drive?

This is the hardware I'm currently looking at:

    CPU:

    Intel® Xeon® E-2124 3.3GHz, 8M cache, 4Cores/4Threads

    OR

Ryzen 7 2700 8Cores/16Threads (If more threads has an advantage)

    RAM:

    32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200

    STORAGE:

1 TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive

Feel free to mention any other hardware you think would be better.

posted a message on Pure Anarchy Server - Anarcho

A lot of the 1.14 servers have severe lag issues due to the bugs of the new update and the amount of plugins they have installed, so I decided to make a lightweight anarchy server! This server:

    • Only has a couple light plugins
    • Runs on the latest prerelease
    • Is hosted in the Eastern US
    • Has no rules (hacking is allowed)
    • Is on hard mode
    • Has 50 slots (for now)

This is a very simple server, so there isn't much more to say about it. I'm hoping to create a dedicated community of players that will accomplish great things in a simple, plugin-free version of Minecraft.

posted a message on Resource pack for the Vampirism mod (MC version 1.12.2)

    Hi,

I added a bit to the latest x128 resource pack for this mod that was made by Sphax and gedankenspiel.

I was disappointed that they haven't updated their resource pack for the latest version of this mod,

so I decided to do it myself!

I just made a few textures for some of the stuff that's been added to this mod since the release of the last

official resource pack. They probably look like crap because this is my first time making a resource pack, but it's something!

Questions, comments, or (friendly) advice would be much appreciated!
