Yeah, me too. As far as I know he didn't confirm it was out, it was just missing from the menu we saw. So maybe it's just missing from the demo version.
I hope that is true. I am still working on the 404 Challenge and I have not had so much fun as this challenge seed. This opened my eyes to the real potential of the Seed Generation and would hate to loose that in 1.8. It would basically ruin a large growing sub-community of minecraft.
*crosses fingers* You are right.

Suggestion to OP: Find yourself a nice Nether Stronghold you like. Build a base out of the area and you can setup the following:
1) Blaze Grinder
2) Pigmen Grinder
3) Netherwart Farm
4) You can even setup Tree/Wheat (Haven't tried wheat farm again but should still work) farms
This way if you have to spend time in the nether away standing around waiting for wart to grow, you can do it all. Currently trying to figure out a way to setup a Ghast Grinder but the only solution I can come up with would take me months and months on Survival which is to completely fill in the area around the stronghold base, leaving only 1 area Ghasts can spawn then you can farm it. Not very practical.
This takes a lot of work but very cool once you finish it. Currently have all but my blaze grinder setup in my SP world (still figuring out how I want to do that) very effective

Personally I think that is the only real answer. The nether generation only had minor tweaks since nether fortress introduction.
Personally I just laugh at all these posts from people complaining or are panicking since there old builds are broken. Welcome to playing a beta. People should just wake up and start fresh in 1.0.0 or at the very least import there oh so precious buildings into 1.0.0 from an old map.

invalid server key means your time does not sync up properly with the server. (at least it does on server side). Reset your date/time and try again. If you still get that on certain servers their time is out of sync.

If there is 5 mushrooms in a 9x9 area no new growth will happen. This makes any mushroom farms pretty useless.
Bonemeal to make a gaint mushroom is the best farming you can do. (I miss my auto-shroom farms)

Glad it worked. Have fun on RC2! Only a few days left and we get the full minecraft experience :smile.gif:

1) The server is unable to do DNS lookup's and is failing to find the Minecraft Auth server. Double check your DNS settings.
2) The time/date on your server is off. The server and the Minecraft Auth server must be set to the same time for the auth server allow the connection. If you are running Linux (or Unix) use ntpdate to update your time. If you are using Windows, just set the time.
As far as I know this problem isn't caused by anything other then the 2 above issues unless some new issue has been introduced in the RC's.
Good Luck

Now down to brass tax. Yes you have a baby on the way, Yes you are busy with LP's and real life blah blah blah. You said on twitter you make me my hardcore version...cough it up man! ;-)
As I told Guude already, very enjoyable map especially for those who watch his LP's. Looking forward to playing another one if you ever have time in the future with the baby arriving so soon.

I am not against the idea as long as they fix the messed up hitboxes for SMP in the process.

Also ton down the amount of food given is another suggestion.
So far having a fun time on it, love some of the design. I had a nice "awww" moment while exploring which I won't say to avoid spoilers.

While exploring a abandoned mine recently I discovered a ravine (nothing new or special there), so I start lighting up the bottom of it.
Half way down the ravine I hear a noise so I turn around and I see a zombie coming towards me no big deal. What was just insane was as I watched while readying for the zombie fight, 2 more drop down on either side of ravine. I see cobble on both sides. A zombie spawner had spawned on either side of the ravine not far up from the floor and was dropping zombies down behind me.
So I take out the zombies start lighting up 1 of the spawns when I noticed high up the wall above the other spawner another cobblestone area. I finish lighting up each zombie spawner and make a cobble stairway up the side of the ravine. At this point I am thinking I cannot believe my luck. I am standing on my stairway and I cut into the cobblestone wall of the 3rd spawner. Immediate I get shot with an arrow (Skellie Spawner) and off the little stairway I build to fall all the way to the ground. Dead. Would have been nice to go back and see what was in that chest. Only problem was I was playing hardcore mode.

The biggest challenge to date was getting the blaze rods (those guys hurt badly) after 4+ hours searching for a nether fortress.
I hope that is all I need, I have never been to the End yet so I figure it would be suitable "ending" to my latest hardcore run.
Thinking of spending my 78 xp levels on enchanting before I go in but frankly not sure it is worth it. Some of the enchants are nice just not needed.
