    John Smith Legacy Resource Pack Snapshot 18w50a

    Jellie the Cat, Blast Furnace & Smoker GUI and a new Sugar Cane 3D model.

    The new villagers will take some time over the holidays to sort out as quite a lot changed.

    Also a big holiday bonus, backdated all the changes to the older releases all the way back to 1.8.9.

    Does anyone know how to spawn the different version of the panda?

    I'm using this at the moment.

    summon minecraft:panda ~0 ~6 ~0 {CustomName:"\"Lazy\"",Silent:1,NoAI:1,Health:1,PandaType:0}

    summon minecraft:panda ~0 ~6 ~0 {CustomName:"\"Worried\"",Silent:1,NoAI:1,Health:1,PandaType:1}

    summon minecraft:panda ~0 ~6 ~0 {CustomName:"\"Playful\"",Silent:1,NoAI:1,Health:1,PandaType:2}

    summon minecraft:panda ~0 ~6 ~0 {CustomName:"\"Aggressive\"",Silent:1,NoAI:1,Health:1,PandaType:3}

    summon minecraft:panda ~0 ~6 ~0 {CustomName:"\"Weak\"",Silent:1,NoAI:1,Health:1,PandaType:4}

    summon minecraft:panda ~0 ~6 ~0 {CustomName:"\"Brown\"",Silent:1,NoAI:1,Health:1,PandaType:5}

    summon minecraft:panda ~0 ~6 ~0 {CustomName:"\"Normal\"",Silent:1,NoAI:1,Health:1,PandaType:6}

    Cat uses 'CatType', Rabbit uses 'RabbitType', Fish use 'Variant' but Panda doesn't seem to have a command for the different versions, you just get the normal all the time, the wiki doesn't list them like all the other mobs.

    This is either not yet implemented or the command is not yet been documented.

    Please can I use some of your textures in a Minetest mod. Minetest is an open source alternative to Minecraft.

    I would you credit and the mod would be open source (totally free).

    Best Regards.

    Sorry these textures cannot be used in any other game or product other than Minecraft.

    Thanks for the suggestion, all the new stairs and slabs need to be looked at as there are some that look too similar (Quartz is especially one of them).

    This will be at a later date as all the development time at the moment is going into the new blocks adds that have no textures (quite a lot was added in the first few snapshots).

    Nice work, those GUI changes were quite a pain to get displaying correctly, it's no longer just drawing a texture for the GUI, it's actually programming the json to display it in the right place without stretching.

    It took quite a long time to get right, I haven't finished yet buy currently I'm devoting all my development time on the JAVA snapshot, lots of changes, the good thing is quite a few changes will be the same textures for Bedrock.

    Difficult not knowing what your pack has in it.

    A good place to start is the OptiFine github with all the documentation on what OptiFine can do.

    Sorry I messed up the blockstates and model code, I've edited my post above with the correct code.

    As I said DELETE the blockstate files, you only need the two model files.

    Here's a step by step for your issue.

    Delete the two blockstates listed below

    blockstates/smooth_red_sandstone.json
    blockstates/smooth_sandstone.json

    Delete the ten models listed below as they are no longer needed as the blockstates will be just the vanilla default pack:-

    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone1.json
    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone2.json
    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone3.json
    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone4.json
    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone5.json

    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone1.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone2.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone3.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone4.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone5.json

    Edit the two model files to point to the sandstone_bottom.png and red_sandstone_bottom.png

    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone.json

    {
    {
        "__comment": "JimStoneCraft - 2018",
        "parent": "block/cube_all",
        "textures": {
            "all": "block/red_sandstone_bottom"
        }
    }

    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone.json

     {
     {
     "__comment": "JimStoneCraft - 2018",
     "parent": "block/cube_all",
     "textures": {
     "all": "block/sandstone_bottom"
     }
    }

    The blockstates don't point to the textures but to the models/blocks, these then list the textures used, the reason there are more than one model are for the random textures (as listed in the blockstates).

    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone.json
    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone1.json
    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone2.json
    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone3.json
    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone4.json
    models/blocks/smooth_red_sandstone5.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone1.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone2.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone3.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone4.json
    models/blocks/smooth_sandstone5.json

    Also there are no textures called smooth_sandstone as those blocks use the sandstone_top texture but on all six sides.

    1.13 changed the model name by adding an 's' to the brick model file.

    Fixed, this will be in the next release after 1.13.1 comes out.

    This does not effect the JSC pack.

    Technical Explanation:-

    One of the model files had the wrong name, as a temporally fix just rename the file listed below.

    From
    John Smith Legacy 1.13.0 v3/assets/minecraft/models/block/nether_brick.json

    to
    John Smith Legacy 1.13.0 v3/assets/minecraft/models/block/nether_bricks.json

    Thanks for the bug report

    Minecraft logs quite a lot of information when loading, what does the log say?

    Can you please attach the crash report (minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt), otherwise I cannot diagnose this issue.

    Knowing Mojang, it usually takes a few revisions to sort out the bugs, we will probably have 1.13.1 next week (unless it is the resource pack).

    Please post the crash log and I'll see what I can do.

    The textures issue for you is not a CTM issue (1.13) as those textures are not used yet (no OptiFine).

    All the tropical fish are textured in the v2 release, the colours are hard coded though so they are a little bit too saturated for my taste.

    As for the "normal" bit in the blockstates, that's how vanilla does it now, as normal is the default they decided to just remove the word "normal" and just put it as "", saves a few bytes I suppose.

    Minecraft 1.13 changed a hell of a lot of the blockstates and models.

    The lily pad issue is a vanilla bug and I've reported it, please vote for it if you're on the bug tracker.

    https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-135564

    This can be fixed using OptiFine but it is a vanilla bug and there is no 1.13 OptiFine yet.

    Minecraft 1.13 Update Aquatic is out and so is my Resource Pack.

    John Smith Legacy 1.13.0 v1, too many changes to list, see the changelog for all the details.

    As a bonus I've also backdated as many changes as I can to the previous packs, all the way back to 1.8.9!

    They took it out of the vanilla game at the moment but you can use it in a resource pack.

    Here's a great site with the explanation for the new ttf format.
