Stats should be switched around. In real life obsidian is sharp but fragile.

While this is true in real life we are talking about Minecraft reality, not reality reality :tongue.gif:. If it is the strongest material in the game then it should be very hard to break when made into a tool. However, since it is so common you cannot make it better than diamond because that would be WAY to overpowered. So, making it have low mining speed but very high durability (i.e. infinite) makes it a well balanced tool material in Minecraft world.

    DUUUUUDE!!!!!FRIEKING FINALLY!!
Ever since King stopped updating his Minecraft Advanced thing I have had no balanced obsidian Tools! I have been searching forever but there always made by some 8 year old who thinks having a common resource be 3X as better than diamond a good idea! THIS ONE ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE!

P.S. If this mod dies I might kill myself or go on a killing spree, havent decided yet.

I also use a mac, and the mod works perfectly on a 32x32 tex pack.

The only reason you need a texture patcher is to use custom water/lava/portal/fire, not particles like snow and smoke.
If you want to, you can drag the particle files into your minecraft.jar folder, though I really don't see why they need to be reloaded.
Does the texture pack you use have snow particles? Since they are not used in vanilla, many texture pack artists skip them. It'd be under the folder: minecraft.jar/environment/snow.png

Well u see the reason u use a patcher for high res texture packs is because of visual bugs with blocks in the game when it loads multiple textures from the vanilla terrain.png to the reformatted ones. This is only made worse when I use about 5 other mods that all add new textures and make my gravel, iron ignots, gold blocks, and cobble not even look like hat they should like and it makes some of them transparent. I do know about the default snow.png but my minecraft simply blackscreens after I install the mod if I patch my texture pack first (I have done this with no other mods installed but modloader so it isnt my other mods) and I have switched between default and high res snow.pngs. I could play with all the bugginess without the patcher but I would much rather play where I dont see through my world
. But thanks for the suggestion, I will go try something different on my old minecraft.jar to see if i can figure it out so it will work when version 0.4 comes out!

t should work with the HD patcher, but I never used it as I couldn't get it to work properly since I started using ML v5...
I have a question though : how the hell does the minecraft.jar become a folder after installation on a mac?
On Windows you'd simply do it this way :
1/- Patching an untouched minecraft.jar with the MCPatcher
    2/- Installing the texture pack
3/- Putting the SnowMod files in the patched minecraft.jar
I'm really sorry, but I have no idea how those damn Macs work, and you further confuse me with saying that they turn Java archives into folders Oo

Basically, I unzip the jar file with "The Unarchiver" which transforms the jar file into a folder with all the class files and other things minecraft requires to run. The reason i dont just open the jar file is because macs cannot do that so i transform it to a folder instead. Once itis a folder i drag and drop files like normal BUT i then delete the original jar file (minecraft.jar) and rename the FOLDER to "minecraft.jar". The game runs normally doing this but patchers for any mod cannot find the minecraft.jar because it technically no longer exists, it is now just a folder called minecraft.jar so minecraft can run. I hope this helped clear that up.
Now when i patch FIRST and THEN transform it to a folder the game simply back screens when i drop the mod files in the folder. I am guessing it overwrites some file that MCPatcher changes and crashes high res packs.
WELL, the funny thing now is minecraft is beat 1.4 and the mod doesn't work anyway (to my knowledge!) so this is all pointless :tongue.gif:. Hope I helped u see how minecraft mods are installed manually on a mac so u can....i dont know do something i guess lol. Anyway thans for the great mod again!

I dont like whining about the same thing over and over but I would really aprecciate it if i could get an answer regarding compatibility with high res texture packs on a mac. I cannot install the mod first because minecraft.jar then becomes a folder and i can not get the patcher to patch it because it then states that the jar file has been modded. I cannot install the pack first because i then get a black screen. Is there anyway to make this compatible with highres packs or do I just live with mself and use 16x16 packs? Btw i am trying to install the gerodoku pack (32x32 Tyken variant)
Would greatly appreciate an answer! Thanks.

So I decided to run my 32x32 pack but when i install the mod after installing the pack it gets stuck on the logo screen, crashes, and shuts down. Is this not compatible with Hi-Resolution texture packs or is it a problem on my end?
