first things first: is the water dimension confirmed, or just fan spinoff, and where is thi idea going in the future, a giant mod?
secondly, i made a tweaked diagram of the dimensions, but i can't post, the only change i made was adding a "rift" dimension, where you go after each boss fight, once you beat all the bosses the way to the end opens(you can go back though.)
each boss would drop a crystal, which you need to place on four pedstals in the rift (that opens the end portal(i don't like the current way to get to the end.))
lastly, i thougth of side dimensions where two dimensions collide f.x: the obsidium, where nether and the water dimension meets, and make a flooded obsidian cave system.
Water dimension is definitely not confirmed. This is prolly gonna be a giant mod, once we have all the mechanics and such figured out.
Have you taken into account my idea for the boss? If you like it, add it to the OP.
Gotta Re-organize the OP to make way for a future "dimensions" section that has the basic mechanics and details of the main dimensions first, Bosses will come later I suppose.
I don't get the anti-French sentiment in the USA these days, historically the US and France have been great allies, going all the way back to the revolutionary war where the French provided weapons and supplies to the rebels. Seems pretty freaking stupid for an AMERICAN of all people to dislike France. Besides, there's buttloads of French words and words of French origin used in American English, even basic things like the words pork and beef.
Yeah, but then they wussed out in WW2 but lets not talk about that any more than we have to.
I suggest we get back on topic. We were talking like pirates I believe?
A dimension that is populated with exotic wildlife as well as mostly sand and sandstone. Has a huge volcano at one end and a village on the other, it has ruby and sapphire as available ores. Has a ship on one end of the island that can take you to boss fights... once it's repaired. Unique blocks include but not limited to are Ruby ore, Sapphire ore, sandalwood (from the trees that are here) and Magma sand.
you would use a dynamic portal system and this would most likely be the first dimension (besides nether)
2. Otherworld
This dimension has many unique blocks and ores better suited for miners, since it has no sun and is always dark and cloudy, you can't farm here (but you jump higher and fall slower due to lower gravity). There would only be a few different mobs here (including creepers), using the different stones and ores you would use them to make a portal to the boss dimensions. lava and fire cannot be placed here.
you would instead use a teleportation rock to get here, found in chests and dropped possibly after a boss fight.
3. Pearly Gates
named after the material the portal is made out of, this static portal appears after you've defeated the enderdragon, this imension would be populated with flying creatures and extremely difficult mobs, as well as a few new ores and blocks, also has villages and structures including dungeons. there are no boss dimensions instead boss fights happen at the end of the dungeon and rewards are very powerful.
the portal would be made out of pearl, found in otherworld and activated by the enderdragon egg.
I think volcanoes would work better as a biome in the overworld.
Can I offer some suggestions? I love the mere mention of new dimensions :biggrin.gif:
1. Overfreeze (or some other name) -
Made of lots of ice, snow and all that good stuff. Contains lots of ore, as well as snow-related mobs (like giants, mammoths, ect). I also thought of a possibility of getting frozen . Its reached by making a Type 2 semi-static portal with snow blocks combined with water buckets. This makes Frost Bricks, which you make the portal with. It only works in snow biomes. It's portal stuff is bright purple.
2. Steamworld -
A dimension for Steampunk enthusiasts. The dimension looks pretty much like the overworld, but all in muted color. You can craft Steampunk-related stuff (such as Airships, Goggles, Rayguns, ect).
There has been a lot of talk of an ice-based dimension.
I think it would fit well as a side dimension accessible from the water dimension.
I'm sure everything you could possibly imagine has been thought of at some point. I made this without looking into wether or not this was similar to anything anyone else has posted in the past. To assume that I copied from the ideas of others is an annoyance. I made this list on my own. I'm sorry for adding an idea that has already been thought of, but that can be said for just about anything.

Excuse me? How could you possibly come up with the EXACT SAME THING, WRITTEN IN THE EXACT SAME WAY, 100% VERBATIM?
Not possible.
At least try harder than simply copy pasting the thread and re-posting it,
I mean seriously? Could it be any more obvious that you stole this? You might as well have a huge banner at the top of the thread that says "YEP, THAT'S RIGHT, I STOLE THIS."
This is just a thought that I believe would add a ton of character to the game and make it a much livelier place. What if biomes and mobs could be coded to form circle of life? When a tree is chopped down or burned the saplings that fall could root into new trees without having to be planted. Without player interaction, mobs could breed and die on their own. Plains of wheat could grow naturally. Environments could sustain life on their own. This adds an entire new element to the game.
Mobs (Peaceful)
Currently, the only way for new mobs to be born is by breeding animals by feeding them wheat. This is unrealistic and unnecessary. Not to say that Minecraft is a realistic game. Instead, mobs could breed at random times as long as there is another mob of the same type nearby. If you simply leave it at this, however, the world would be over run by mobs. To counteract this, fully grown mobs, after a good period of time, could pass, leaving behind their drops but no experience. The rate at which mobs spawn and despawn is vital. To show human impact, mobs should despawn slightly faster than they spawn. This slow decline can be helped by breeding mobs with human interaction.
Mobs (Aggressive)
Aggressive mobs lives are short lived. They spawn at night and in the morning burning to a crisp. Instead of appearing out of thin air, the most logical thing to happen is for them to come to the surface from the depths of caves and other dark regions. When the sun sets, the mobs could emerge from these dens and patrol the surface. When the sun begins to dawn, the mobs can run back to their dens and wait another day.
This would affect mobs in this way:
Zombies: Zombies would survive in dens as stated above.
Skeletons: Skeletons would survive in dens as stated above.
Creepers: Creepers would survive in dens as stated above with the added ability to not be burned in the sun. As such Creeper Dens could be in areas exposed to light.
Ender men: Ender men could emerge from The End with their teleporting abilities as long as the area is dark. When the sun rises they would return to their realm.
Nether Mobs: There is no day or night in the Nether, so Nether mobs would remain the same.
Necromancy - Reviving the Undead.
Another possible ability is to create undead aggressive mobs to fight for you. This could be done in a special crafting table. The make the undead would require a few recourses, however.
Skeletons would require bones, a bow, and 15 arrows.
Zombies would require rotten meat.
With those items, they can be placed in the special crafting table and after a period of time, spawn a mob that will follow you and attack anything that attempts to attack you. This would work much like wolves do. After they die from taking to much damage they simply disappear and no items can be harvested from their remains.
Trees
When all the wood has been taken from a tree, the saplings being to fall from the leaves. The saplings cannot take root unless planted by the player. IIn addition to this, a couple of saplings could begin to grow all on their own. When a tree burns down, the same action occurs.
Sugarcane
Sugarcane could spread similar to mushrooms. They can only grow on land on the shore. To prevent them from spreading infinitely along the coast of every island, it would spread from a single stalk. From this stalk, it can spread a limited number of blocks. Completely removing sugarcane from an area would still make it impossible from new sugarcane to grow.
Wheat
Wheat can occur naturally, but less common than sugarcane. It must grow within 4 blocks from a water source as it does now, but can still spread like mentioned with sugarcane.
Adding to the forest floor
Randomly generated bushes could be added to the generation code. Simply a couple leaf blocks attached in some way.

Mother of god.
This is wonderful
It is simple, yet practical, and would fit the game seamlessly
You sir deserve this

Pearly gates sounds kinda cheesy btw

It's more unlikely than you think.

Link for proof? I want a date and time stamp on this that says you posted the ideas before he did.

Hey! It's hard organizing everything. :dry.gif:
I have been trying to update the OP for a while, I just need to figure out how to organize and present the information properly.
I'm working on it though.

Here you go, try not to kill yourself with it :wink.gif:

Of course he copied, just report him and move on.

That could work, though I imagined it as a bit bigger than a silverfish.
