I've always wanted to be able to have coloured glass in minecraft but I was always worried that the coloured sand would look silly, and I didn't want it to be crafted from glass as that makes no sense.

On a side note. Legos is not a word, it's a spanish town (probably). The correct term is lego bricks. But lego as the plural is also acceptable. . The more you know.

I understand where you're coming from on this, the example textures for the colored sand are a bit too... intense, for lack of a better word. They could always be edited to be less neon-y.

IRL colored sand is usually duller in color, which would probably fit better minecraft-wise

Side note: Gonna make me one of them sand bottles the moment this gets made into a mod

Cool, so are you in Jello?

I have a twitter account, but I rarely use it.

Gotta blow the dust of it, but I guess I could. I'm planning on using it later when All Dem Dimensions gets popular to announce stuff, so I might as well try and get used to twitter.

posted a message on talking in 20 blocks
This has been suggested far too many times. It's completely unnecessary and a waste of time to code something like this into minecraft considering that there are plenty of free voice chat programs out there.

Seriously, just get a skype account. It's free for computer to computer voice chat.

This is an amazing and well written suggestion, however this wouldn't be to compact or convenient for general use. It would be like pistons, except have no use other than creating an aesthetic feeling to Minecraft lightning. This would be a great mod, but it just doesn't seem like Minecraft.

First of all, pistons have many uses, especially in auto farms and parkour maps.

    second of all:

    Light based redstone devices.

    1. Have a light sensor block

    2. put colored glass pane in front of sensor

    3. it only reacts to that color of light!

    4. ?????

    5. Profit!

I would love to have this in my mod. In addition to the "Shadowstone" (yeah the classic reverse glowstone) and the "double torch" (a torch that toggles between darkness emitter, and light source via redstone) ideas that have been floating around on my forum, light based redstone devices would work rather well.

To most users, being able to create an 'aesthetic feeling' with blocks in MC is the most important use about them; considering MC is a creative game where the primary goal is to build things. I mean what if Legos never came out with blocks like these?:

    ...these? :

    Or even these?:

It just wouldn't be the same.

I'm not saying that Minecraft should copy Legos, nor would it be with my suggestion. But I firmly believe if anything, colored glass is something that Minecraft absolutely needs implemented into vanilla. The colored light that can be created with colored glass in my suggestion would give the blocks use too.

    Omg yes legos.

I used to hoard all the shiny pieces when I was a kid.

I also used to pretend the gems were the chaos emeralds from sonic, but I never had the right colors :(

A mass tweet? If organized correctly it would work rather well.

You just need a few hundred people

Well, I wish you good luck with this rex, It would be really cool if jeb decided to add this. It's been on Reddit and Getsatifaction for a while, it deserve some recognition.

I might want to try something like this as well later with A.D.D. It's a good idea if you have enough peeps to do it. Gotta get some more support before I do that though. <_<

posted a message on Alternate Mob Skins
    basically the randomobs mod

Yeah, I've wanted this in vanilla for a long time, it's not that hard to make some extra textures and have some code to cycle through them randomly.

They don't have to be the same textures in this mod, (I personally don't like a few of them) but you get the idea, it's possible and rather easy to code.

Cats have multiple textures, don't know why they haven't applied this to all mobs. Maybe they're too lazy to make more textures? :P

I suggest, if you really want this to be added, try and contact jeb via email and ask him if he could implement some form of Randomobs into the game.

It'll probably have to wait till after 1.3, but knowing jeb, he will probably like it.

I have no expirience modding, but i've made a few texture packs that i've never released and participated in a neat greyscale texture chalenge.

EDIT: Also, how would I go about doing it, I have an account.

If you have an account, go to the modding/texturing section, and just click the New topic button to create a new topic.

    How about this?

I drew this up in gimp, a very useful tool. A way to implement this is to simply make the first one "Seaweed1" and then assign it it's own block, then on a certain tick, it "grows" to "Seaweed2" a 2 block tall plant that is occupied by water, and so on.

EDIT: I updated the original file. Wow.

    That's great!

Again though, our main coder is currently MIA at the moment, If you have any coding experience at all, could you lend a hand please? I am really more of a supervisor/idea guy to be honest. I can make a model or two, but coding is not really my forte :(

If you want to help please go right ahead and join our forum and make a thread introducing yourself in the modding section! ^_^

The reason as to why you would use colored sand is that it's the way colored glass is made real life. And as for the light sensor, that has already been suggested (by me actually, great minds think alike)

Hah, I was actually gonna see if I could get the sensor in as a new device in my mod. I was actually hoping to expand upon the lighting mechanics with this idea, as well as some of the others we have floating around on my mod's forum.

One thing we are definately include one way or another is the whole "revers glowstone" idea, it will fit great with light level based redstone devices.

The color filter for the device might as well be built right into it, change the color by right clicking maybe?

Or maybe it would be more like

Sensor + blue colored glass = blues light sensor

Or maybe just puting a colored glass block next to/in front of the sensor will edit the kind of light it reacts to?

I just drew up a neat little seaweed texture in my spare time, for fun and thoguht it looked good, so here goes nothing:

    Pictures:

I used the spider web texture, and attempted to draw from the outside into the center.

That's pretty cool! But it needs to be able to grow like sugercane, that way it's easy to farm and make delicious sushi with :P

But then again, we always could have more than one type of seaweed, to make things more diverse. A one block high seaweed might look good as well.

Oh I wish our modder pudel would get back so he could implement this!

very well thought out, I like it :D

I can already imagine someone making a disco ball out of this.

One question though, why have colored sand? It would be much easier to just dye the glass instead.

    Oh, an idea!

Why didn't I think of this before, a light sensor as a redstone device! You could even craft sensors that only pick up certain light colors!

Gotta add this to my mod :P

Why not ask the creators of the current dimension mods to mash em' together? And then find a good way to cooperate. If you do so my mod is in!

As easy and simple as it sounds to do that, It would actually be very difficult considering that they would likely all have different view points than what we are trying to accomplish.

If they would like to help with creating the mod, that is fine. There is no guarantee that everything in their mod will make it into ours, but if some of the ideas they have would complament our mod, than those ideas can definately be included.
