Jungle biomes have HUGE trees, So i'm thinking huge trees will be implemented in the forest biome sooner or later
Based on the picture Jeb sent out, the jungle trees appear to reach about 10-20 blocks in height and 1 wide. With redwoods we're talking about immense trees, at least 4x4 in width and reaching over 40 blocks in height, or more.
*MAJOR UPDATE* I've done more research on the coast redwoods, and I just had the idea of having a completely new biome for them. This is what I got in a nutshell:

Cool, moist air from the Pacific Ocean keeps the redwoods always damp, even in the hot, dry summers and has done so for the last 20 million years. These perfect growing conditions exist only in one place on Earth, a strip of coastline 5 to 35 miles wide reaching down from southwestern Oregon to just south of the Monterey coast in northwestern California."-various websites
I also saw that snow wasn't their best friend. So, these new biomes would not have snow in them, only rain. Large clouds of mist/fog would be present from time to time (the same chance of ocurring as rain/snow) as fog is very important for the redwoods's ecology. These new biomes would include coast redwoods, obviously, as well as other conifers. I won't go into detail with those because it would be useless to make 50 different types of conifers that virtually look the same in minecraft. If you saw my More trees and vegetations thread, it mentions sword ferns. If you've ever been to a park that has redwoods (jedediah smith national forest, muir woods national monument, sequoia national park, etc.) or seen pictures of redwoods, you'll notice that these ferns practically cover the entire ground. So they too would be a major part of these biomes. They would be relatively flat in terms of geography. Would you like to see these in their own biome, or not?
This sounds more like an enchantment and also doesn't seem useful to me I mean you can use ladders or just jump stack would be a waste IMO.
Well, if you want to do a let's play or something, maybe infiltrate a poorly guarded enemy faction base in multiplayer, things like that. Or if it seems too much like an enchantment the crafting recipe could be leather boots with slimeballs at the bottom, or something similar.
Redwood thread First of all, I didn't come up with the idea. Gigermann did on my redwoods thread, link <- this way. Please check it out, I really need feedback and support on those, it would really help. On with the boots. All credit goes to Gigermann.
The purpose of climbing boots would be to well...climb. The crafting would be like normal armor boots, but made with leather on the top and maybe slimeballs at the bottom (for sticking). When you lean against a stacking or wall, etc. of blocks, when you jump you would get stuck to the thing you want to climb. Each time you jumped you would go up 1 block, and stay stuck. You wouldn't be able to jump down and to climb down you would press shift, going down 1 block with each click. Breaking and placing blocks would work like normal. They would look like leather boots but with a green slimeball splat at the bottom. What do you guys think?

Oh, those are knives/spikes on the sides? I suppose that would work as well as the sticky ones.
