ugh... stupid brain-washed army of RPG fanboys...
Notch is quickly removing everything that set MineCraft apart from the myriad RPGs out there.
you know what, I think that I was overly rude and offensive there, and I didn't mean to be so incredibly mean, so I apologize to all you RPG fans! -

I DON'T like the idea of a hunger bar! (unless it does not go down on peaceful, that is!)
It would make MineCraft WAY too difficult!
For every 5 people that agree with you, there will be 100 people disagreeing with you.

i think the npc villiges arent gonna be filled with humans with endermen or farlanders i would think since the "new mob" is might be builders
ooh! what if there were villages of each, and the enders/farlanders built theirs out of something different than the human villages! or what if they had a symbiotic relationship, or maybe the enders/farlanders were the human's slaves, building their villages, or maybe the humans would be the enders'/farlanders' slaves, and killing the farlanders would free the humans, and they would give you something good!that was a big idea/string of ideas, so think on it for a bit if you couldn't comprehend it, but if you could, then click theon the right)

I think that the endermen name isalla little catchy, but i still think the farlanders is a good name for the mob.

Where's the poll?
Endermen rolls of the tongue easier, but it's up to notch. I care more about how they play.
the poll is at http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/520582-18-updates-endermen-or-farlanders/page__pid__6861551#poll_16565, the same page that you are replying to!
hurry, before the poll closes!
btw, yeah for awesome post! I clicked the + on it! - To post a comment, please login.

This most recent version crashes the game:
Interestingly, I did not have to open the world map to trigger this bug.
Minimap by itself works just fine
I have no other mods [except Forge, I guess]

I suppose putting a link would be infringement on Rei's feelings, but search YouTube for "rei's minimap multiplayer radar" and click on the video with a thumbnail that looks like this:
fHrUtgsJoSI
It's got instructions on patching it yourself, as well as a link to the obscure Japanese site the updated Rei's Minimap is posted on.. it's also got a premade patch on it.

Ya, I don't mind supporting a mod creator with adf.ly links or similar, but running it through two monetizing services, one of which has popups, with no direct link even available, is going a bit overboard (IMHO.)
Things like this are the reason I use Ad blockers.

If you're going to try to use server costs an an excuse, then be like Rei and just use Dropbox. It's easier on everyone.

Rei's Minimap supports mob radar and cave mapping...

I've even created a nifty Debian package:

Not earlier versions of minecraft. This didn't happen until a few updates ago.

Well...
Here's how it works: Java is closed-source. That means Oracle is the only one who can compile it. They have to compile it for every supported architecture, every supported OS. That means they have to compile it once for Windows 32-bit, once for Linux 64-bit, once for Mac Whatever-It-Uses, etc.
"32-bit" is x86 architecture. "64-bit" is x86_64 architecture. Mobile phones use ARM (or a derivative.)
All of these architectures have well-known and documented machine code. That's why you can use a program like GCC to compile C source code for any OS, any platform. But if you don't have the source code, you can't compile it. Couple that with the fact that the Wii uses some funky proprietary architecture, and you've got yourself in a real pickle. Unless Oracle and Nintendo made some sort of deal, something like that would never work. Really, the current state of Homebrew software for the Wii is truly flooring. They (the homebrewers) had to figure out the machine code on their own, and then had to write their programs in machine code (which is a nightmare, even with well-documented architectures..)
So you'd have to use the open-source Java, it's called OpenJDK, and it works mell for most Java applications, BUT - Mojang specifically recommends the Oracle JRE; OpenJDK doesn't work as well for Minecraft. Even if we were to go ahead and use OpenJDK, we'd still have to compile it for the Wii, which is a titanic task. Also, Minecraft needs LWJGL, which needs some native code to run, so THAT would have to be compiled for the Wii, and if you wanted more than frome every 5 seconds, you'd have to figure out how to implement hardware acceleration.. Which would be like learning a whole 'nother architecture...
TL;DR: Unless someone dedicated their life to getting this to work, or Nintendo decided to make a deal with Oracle for a Wii JRE (which will never happen,) the only hope is for Nintendo to decide to go down the same path Microsoft did with the X360 edition: Get a license from Mojang to rewrite the entire game to work on the company's platform (as opposed the Java, which is a VM - it's like all Java products are run in a Java emulator...)
P.S., as for the people that are claiming "Copyright Infringement!" As long as you've got the official launcher running in Java, neither Notch nor Mojang cares one bit what architecture the host machine is. So long as you're not selling your Wii JRE...

I'm using it for a project, and you will be credited.
Also, you get a hundred billion points if you make an SVG file of the dirt block, if it looks professional.
Thanks in advance.

You'll then need to contact a server moderator, ether through the server's forums (if they have them) or just tell a Mod ingame.
Your screenshots are saved at %appdata%\.minecraft\screenshots\ on Windows
Or ~/.minecraft/screenshots on Linux
For Macs, I have no idea.. I don't have a mac... Sorry...
If you're going to tell a mod ingame, he can most likely just teleport to you and see the damage. Most servers have plugins that let them track who broke what block when, and they can most likely revert all the damage with a singe command.
If you're posting in the server's forum, be sure to include the coordinates, also upload the screenshots to Imgur and give a link.
If emailing a mod/admin directly, attach the screenshots to the email, and be suro te remember the coordinates.

When does the narwhall bacon: MIDNIGHT
Can I have it as a full-body render, with the guy facing somewhat left and towards the camera (same angle as the guy in your avatar, if you flipped the image horizontally?)
I'd like the expression to be something pleasant, like for a yearbook photo, and not a big cheesy grin.
Thanks for doing this!
P.S., please render into PNG. I loathe JPEGs with every fiber of my being.

Bats were just a waste of RAM and CPU cycles, they were completely useless.
Horses are rather unneccary (imo.)
But griffins would be a wonderful idea.
Next update: Bats, GONE. Ocelots, DELETED. Griffins: ADDED. Jeb-Haters: PACIFIED.
