posted a message on Bows and enchantment table...
Why not Zoidberg? (Sorry I couldn't help it.)

But I think it's a great idea. Instead of adding elemental arrows or different kinds of arrows (like people have wanted for a long time), an enchanted bow can do that. Or maybe enchantments that add range, less drawback time, etc.

posted a message on Has anyone found Vilages anywhere other than the desert?
I have yet to find a single village, and I've made my fair share of worlds since 1.8 was released. I'll let you know if I find one and what biome it's in.

posted a message on What do you think/know about Notch's "Secret Surprise"?
I always thought that those who bought the game in Alpha should get one cape, and those that bought it in Beta get another. Those who buy it after the full release get nothing, and they'll like it.

posted a message on A totally different game mode?
    Quote from Badprenup

It already exists. People who want to play and RPG play survival, and those who want a sandbox play creative.

What I said above is a separate mode that is 100% a roguelike would kick some serious ass.

Well creative isn't sandbox, it's creative. What people want from a sandbox is roaming around with no particular goal just being able to mine and craft. Simple as that. With the new features that Notch is adding, the game is becoming more RPG-like, requiring you to eat every so often and gain experience. That's what makes the community angry; the fact that these new features are mandatory. If, say, we could disable the features or even put them into a separate game mode/difficulty, the community would be happier since they aren't forced to do the things they don't like.

It would be cool if you plant some mushrooms next to a cow and, since mushrooms naturally spread, they spread onto the cow. Then you could make your own mooshrooms if you want.

A cooldown time, or babies would be nice, as others have stated. I also like the idea of a placeable bale of hay that the animals will feed on by themselves, so you can leave for an hour or so and come back to 3 new pigs.

Damn...that's kind of an incentive to use fancy settings, but my computer can't handle it.

That's amazing. I really hope Notch doesn't "fix" this.

posted a message on Are giant mushrooms overpowered?
Maybe. Notch can just tone down the chance for mushrooms to drop. Also, if you say the giant mushrooms are "overpowered", then so are the animals. As it is, they drop more meat than they used to and plenty spawn at a time.

posted a message on 1.8 [The Adventure Update] Not really
There's Critical Hits, better combat, a hunger system, sprinting, Creative Mode, new dungeons, a couple of new mobs, new farming, new biomes, NPC villages, experience, leveling up and a lot more. Although it's being split into 2 updates both coined as "The Adventure Update(s)", we're still getting a lot with 1.8.
