Stumbled across this while looking for some castle inspiration. Now wishing SO HARD that I was on xbox and not PC/PS. I would love to see this bad boy in person! Now to go back and look at my build and cry over how boring it is lol
Edit: OK so after drooling some more, I did wonder about a couple of things!
1) What is your process? Do you build a base shape then embellish it, or do you build from the ground up all awesome?
2) How often do you destroy and restart a building?
Amazing amazing amazing can't say it enough!
Thank you. I greatly appreciate when people like the stuff I build.
1. I actually build randomly, I don't have a set plan or idea. I might start from any directions, it just depends what ideas I come up with during that time. The major drawback doing this is that it takes a lot longer to finish my builds. I'm constantly changing the design, building and rebuilding until I'm satisfied that it flows with my other builds. I do start out with a basic shape then gradually layer the details to my structures to give it more depth.
2. I don't often destroy entire buildings but I have done it before. I usually just make design modifications to give it more details or change the floor plan of the building to fit in with the surroundings. I'm the worse critic of my builds, I'm constantly making changes every few months. Every time Minecraft is updated and more new block types are added, I try to incorporate those blocks to my existing structures if I think they will make my builds even better.

Sorry for not posting updates about my map in months because I've been really busy, and I haven't played much.
Here is what I'm currently building since the latest Minecraft update, and it's roughly 25% finished. Also, I will be posting updated screenshots of my old builds since I've made many changes.
Looks, very well for being made on xbox.(not saying that pc is better, just that it's farther updated.) I love what you did with the dam's, it really gives off a curved effect. How long did it take you to make this again?
I started my map couple of weeks after the game came out so since late May of last year.
Thanks. Rome, Florence, Venice, London, and Berlin are just some of the cities that influenced me. My map is a mixture of many different styles from the renaissance/roman/byzantine/neo-classical/medieval/beaux-arts/neo-classical period.

I'm flattered that they copied the design of my castle palace but they did a poor job building it. lol
