That I don't know. I can't find any "real" documentation on XU2 yet. I'm personally trying to get my quantum quarry to work, but it won't take power for some reason.
ExtraUtils is a must-have for any of my servers. So many awesome gadgets and "things"!
I have however noticed that even with the release 1.1.0 version of ExtraUtils2, ethereal glass is not craftable as there is no recipe for moon stone and there is no entry in the manual (or this thread, for that matter).
I assume a creative-only item for now, or is this a JEI missing recipe?
You find the moonstone extremely rarely while mining. I've made ineffable glass using the 2 that I found, which keeps mobs out but lets me run through.
I think the question to ask is this: Are you playing Minecraft 1.7.10 or Minecraft 1.10.2? You can't really pick a version of Tinkers until you decide if you're moving forward or staying in the past.
I've been trying to download the newest version of Mekanism from your website, and AdFly will not let me actually download it. It keeps taking me to ransomware pages, fake spyware pages, and everywhere except for the actual download. I've been trying for the last 30 minutes and can't seem to download the mod.
Is there a direct link somewhere? I'd even be happy to donate a buck or two just to get AdFly-free downloads.
You need the files that say 1.9.4 in the name - for both.
Like I said, I grabbed the newest versions. Streams has 1.9.4 in the filename, the other is Farseek-1.9-1.1.jar, which is the release candidate on CurseForge for 1.10.
I've just tried to add Streams and the FarSeek API to the current All The Mods 1.10.2 build. I simply downloaded the files from CurseForge and plopped them into the mods directory. When I started up Minecraft, I got an error saying that Farseek was looking for Minecraft 1.9,1.9 and wouldn't work in 1.10.2. What am I doing wrong?
Hey Bisect, I had an awesome hosting experience last year with you, and I got excited last week when you sent out discount codes. I was going to wait until I got paid last Friday, but when I went back the promo was already gone. Do yall plan on running that promotion again?
Storage Drawers is actually REALLY good with AE2 as well. The controllers work as in AND output remember. So with a single storage bus you can have a HUGE array of storage options for a mass number of things.
Wait wait what?? I can hook a storage bus to a properly-setup controller and my AE2 system will pull out or push in from the entire connected network of storage drawers??
I asked something like this a few pages back on this thread, maybe 2-3 months ago, but without using AE2. I just wondered if it were possible to add a crafting table mechanic to the controller drawer so that, when crafting something and the ingredients were in-network, they could be auto-pulled back out. If AE2 does this, then I'm extremely happy and satisfied.
I run a small, co-op based served on the brand new FTB Infinity Evolved (2.0) modpack. I'm looking to put together a small community of players who like to play with others in a helpful way that can share common goals to make the server better and better.
The actual world was restarted the night after Evolved went live and opened to the public the day of release. The restart was due to a biome generation error that caused Mushroom Islands to be everywhere. Now we're in a BOP generation and the world's awesome!
There are a few basic rules:
Keep it family friendly. A few of the members let their kids play, too, and I'd like to keep the language and cursing to a minimum out of respect to them.
Griefing and PVP should be kept to a minimum. If both parties agree to duel, that's fine, but you shouldn't go around killing everyone. Anyone caught griefing will be immediately banned.
Everything is co-operative. After the restart, we re-established the community smeltery and farm, but there's no resource stockpile yet. We're working on that.
Land claims should be kept to the smallest-size possible. I want this world to be explored by anyone who logs in, and claiming land prevents that.
Excessive requests to have everyone make things for you will result in you being banned from the server. It's a co-op server, so we expect you to chip in as well. Once we're more established, we'll be able to provide startup tools and the like for new players.
HAVE FUN!
The server is based in Buffalo, NY, and is run by Bisect Hosting. They have awesome customer service and I thoroughly enjoy their product. I cover the cost of hosting, but have a small premium package through them currently. If the server population swells, I may ask for help in covering the cost so that we can upgrade, but it's totally free for now for invited players. I leave the server up 24/7, but I do try to restart it once per day. I'll eventually automate the restarts to somewhere around 3AM Eastern, when most people aren't on, but the interruption is normally only 1-2 minutes at the most.
We don't currently have a voice server, but I am toying with the idea of adding a TS3 server as well.
PM me for invites if you're interested.
I'll post pictures soon once we have a few builds to show off.
Hey I've been researching a ton of hosts for the last couple hours. I'm thinking BisectHosting may be my pick, but it's my first server so I just have a couple questions.
I'll be playing with 5-10 people. We want to go vanilla, but may want to add a mod or two in the future. I'm worried about lag so I keep looking for Ram that I probably don't need.
Basically I'm torn between doing a Budget 3 or a Premium 2. Will I recieve help for modding in either option? What would you recommend?
Thanks so much!
(Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but i'm not soliciting offers so i thought it was okay.)
I know I'm a couple of weeks late, but I'll vouch as a customer and tell you that the premium service is worth the slight extra cost. I've caused several issues for myself (try leaving a wither skeleton spawner running overnight with a chunk loader - logged on the next morning to over 10K wither skeletons all in one cobblestone box), and they have responded almost immediately with a fix every single time I've contacted them. They have literally the best customer service I've ever experienced.
I'll give super crafting frames a try, thanks for pointing that out. I'm moving away from using AE2 in my personal play. It's a beautiful system, but I feel like I spend to much time getting it to craft itself. (just my feeling here, not a broad pronouncement)
This, exactly!! It also feels like, after a certain point, I've switched over to playing on Creative mode. Creative's fun and all, but there's no challenge to it. I love having to go out and get food and fend off angry zombies and such, and occasionally having to mine to find a copper or gold ore because I'm 1 short.
The concept of a "crafting" drawer works okay. Compacting drawers are basically really specialized forms of a crafting drawer. This was touched upon briefly a few pages back over the suggestion for combining some Botania ingredients into a single drawer like the compacting drawers. They could be useful, but they would never be able to match the capability of AE2 crafting.
There is a pretty decent alternative already available though: super crafting frames. Stick them on controller slaves, and they'll draw items from the rest of the drawer network. Controller slaves were basically made for that. They're cheap (on performance). Crafting frames are just not quite as compact as a 2x2 drawer face.
Let me clarify a little further: I don't mean the autocrafting aspect. I mean more of the thing where you can shift+click the question mark (?) on the recipe page, and AE2 will place all of the ingredients you have in inventory in the right spot. I absolutely love the Storage Drawers look and setup because I can show off all of my stuff, but my memory's not the best and I have to hit the recipe several times before I get all of the mats to craft something.
I've just started a new world, and I decided to hollow out a giant redwood for a base. On the first floor, I have storage drawers on both sides of the room and I have them connected with your connector blocks running under the floor. It works perfectly. The only catch is that my crafting station is on one side of the room, so I have to cross back over to grab stuff (it's only 8 blocks, so I'm complaining about first-world problems here I know), but it gets aggravating when you're doing a multi-part recipe (think: machine frames, pulverizers, jet packs, etc. with several layers before the finished product).
I don't want your mod to craft it for me with recipes like AE2 does - I just wondered if, since it can auto-deposit across the network, can it auto-pull the needed items back out with a "Crafting Cabinet" kind of thing?
I'll admit that I didn't read all 37 pages of comments before this one, so forgive me if this has already been asked, but have you considered adding a crafting table/drawer that you can hook to the Controller and have it pull needed ingredients from any connected drawer, similar to how AE2's ME Crafting Panel works?
I did my first FTB Infinity world using AE2 primarily, but it got overly complicated once I started trying to setup autocrafting. I reset my private server today and refreshed my world so I could start over again, and I started using JABBA and your Storage Drawers for my system, and I'm already liking it better. An autocrafting drawer would be awesome, but I don't see one in my NEI readout.
Yesterday marked 2 weeks with BH for me and I've been nothing but impressed. I've never rented an online server for anything, and I was very hesitant to do it since I play MC and don't really know anyone else who does, but I'm so glad that I did! My home machine's not too bad, but the game runs faster and more smoothly playing on my server than it does on my home PC.
Setup was so easy...choose a few options, put in the discount code, and *BAM* I have my own server. Since I'd never done this before, I threw tons of questions at the staff my first 2-3 days, and ALL of them were answered within 5 minutes, 10 tops. A lot of the time I was able to do a live chat and have someone walk me through whatever issue I was having and that made all the difference.
I'm 37 years old, have owned several businesses, and dealt with all manner of customer service throughout my life, and I would say that Bisect Hosting has some of the best customer service I've ever come across!
It's been about a week since I posted or even played with this map, but real life happens.
I started a server today, but it doesn't really fit in the bounds of this forum so I'll only mention it this once. It's a creative server and I'm using Botania, BuildCraft, JourneyMap, Baubles, and Waila with it. I have a few spots open if anyone wants to come and help me get it started. PM me and I'll send the IP to you.

I'm still anxiously awaiting another of those 50% off deals to come around, although I do like the new server prices!
